Big Red Fred! This boy loves everybody and almost everything…..his feet however are off limits (or so he says)! I think he throughly loves playing “give me those feet” as he tries to keep them away! He loves dogs and ignores cats! He’s a very very sweet boy but he does have some vision impairments but they don’t hinder him in the slightest! You however, be mindful giving him treats because he just may swallow your entire arm as he can’t see up close very well! Hes not much of an adventurer but loves spending time outside sun bathing and sleeping on a nice comfy dog bed inside next to his people! He would love to have a home with another dog who he can play with as he thrives with friends!

Maxwell is a 7-year-old boy who has not had an easy start to life, but we are absolutely determined to make sure the rest of his story is filled with comfort, love, and happiness. As a puppy, Maxwell suffered a serious leg injury that was never treated. For years, he lived with pain and limited mobility. Despite many efforts, surgeries, and consultations, we couldn’t undo the damage done so long ago, and the kindest choice was to amputate his injured leg. The good news? Maxwell has adapted beautifully. Since he wasn’t able to use the leg much before, he’s already moving better and seems more comfortable and relieved without the constant pain and extra weight. He’s learning that life feels pretty good now. Maxwell enjoys attention from his people, playing with toys, going for walks, splashing around in water, and, perhaps his favorite, lounging on a soft, cozy bed. He’s a loyal, loving guy who would thrive as the one and only pet, as other dogs just aren’t really his thing. Maxwell is looking for someone who will see his resilience, his strength, and his heart, and give him the safe, loving home he has always deserved. Xena is a sweet 6-year-old girl who is looking for a new family after spending six wonderful years in the home that adopted her as a puppy. Her family loved her very much and was heartbroken to make the decision to return her. Unfortunately, Xena was extremely uncomfortable and terrified around the toddler in the home and was not happy with the situation. With another baby on the way, her family ultimately felt that finding Xena a home where she could feel safe and comfortable was the best thing for her. It was a difficult decision, and they were very sad to say goodbye. Now, Xena is trying to figure out why her familiar world has suddenly changed. After six years in a home, the shelter is a big adjustment, and she is understandably confused. What she needs now is someone who will give her the time, love, and reassurance she needs to settle in again. Xena loves affection and wants to be with her people. She is a smart girl who knows her name, sit, and place, and she has done well with other dogs here at the shelter. She previously lived with another dog and cats, although she would prefer cats who respect her space rather than ones who want to bully her. She does need to be fed separately from other dogs. Xena is ready for a fresh start, and we would love nothing more than to see her back in a loving home where she can relax, feel secure, and be someone's beloved companion again.
