Story
Halo has been a beloved family dog since the day we brought her home. She is attached to me at the hip and is my most loyal companion. She’s always shown those typical Australian shepherd tendencies of being reactive to specific things. Once you get to know what makes her uncomfortable she is easily managed. We recently had a baby and I was worried to say the least. But she did AMAZING with our newborn I was so beyond thankful. But now my baby is 10 months old… she’s getting Mobil, she’s getting grabby, and Halo is becoming uncomfortable being around her and I don’t trust her as she has nipped other dogs before and ONLY at people when they put there face into her face… she does NOT like that and will nip. This is not a chance I’m willing to take when it comes to my baby. I’m heartbroken to say the least. I want nothing but the absolute best for Halo to have a long and happy life even if I’m not the one that can provide that for her as I had planned…

Story
🐾 Hi there, I’m George! 🐾I’m a 4-year-old, 58-pound adventurer with a big heart! I’m still working on putting on a few healthy pounds, but I promise I’ve got plenty of energy and enthusiasm to share while I get there.I love exploring, playing, and going on adventures — I’m always up for a hike, a walk, or a romp with another fun-loving dog who can keep up with me. I’ve also just discovered how awesome toys are! I’m learning to play and really starting to enjoy them — they make me so happy.I’m housetrained so you can check that off your list! As for the kennel, I’ll admit… I’m still learning to like my kennel (it’s a work in progress), but I respond well to training when someone’s patient and consistent with me. What I really need is a family who will help me stay healthy, commit to my training, and give me all the love and structure I deserve. If you’re looking for a loyal, outgoing adventure buddy who’s full of spirit and ready to grow (literally and figuratively!), then I can’t wait to meet you. Let’s make some memories together!--------------------------------------------"I'll be home for Christmas!" For applications received now through 12/31/2025, Warrior Dog Rescue is reducing the adoption fee of all pups. This is reflected in the adoption fee shown below. All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $250To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Boba was acquired at a young age from a friend of a friend. He is currently 3 years old. My wife and I are looking to re-home Boba for a number of reasons. 1. Resource Guarding. Aussies are known to be resource guarders. Unfortunately this has led to some unfortunate behaviors. When my Wife and I started dating I was bitten a few times due to this. In addition, he has pounced (but not bitten) a niece. He almost bit my puppy when we were visiting one weekend. These behaviors are not taken lightly. When my wife is not home he is what I consider a normal dog. He does not resource guard anyone or anything. Due to this it is important that his adopter knows how to counteract this behavior and is willing to put in the time. 2. Exercise. Aussies are working dogs. With kids on the horizon we will have less time to focus on him and his needs. Please reach out if you have questions. I ran out of space.

Story
Cotton’s time has been beautifully spent. He’s learned to safely navigate a world that he can’t fully see or hear. He’s earned the nickname ‘Fake blind dog’ for his incredible ability to overcome the challenges and obstacles that he was born with, lived through and now has conquered. He moves with the absolute swiftness of a skilled herding dog. He is every bit as confident and agile as his canine counterparts.Beyond his improved physical abilities, Cotton has continued to make strides in his dog to dog relationships. It’s difficult in the canine world for Aussies that can see and hear. Their intense nature, quick movements, desire to herd, and demand for order can often be misunderstood by other dogs. When the ability to quickly read another dog is diminished by lack of vision or hearing or both- it can easily result in reactivity. Cotton has used his time here to learn to read cues his way. He’s learned to trust and play. He’s mastered fun and that should always be a priority. He’s also learning who to avoid, how to exit gracefully and that the humans do have his back. Cotton has embraced the life he’s living. He has worked so hard to be good and do good. He has more than earned his place in this pack, this home, this organization, this community and this world. He still needs a home of his own. This place he lives is wonderful but it’s not his wonderful. It’s a resting spot. A wayside stop. A layover. Cotton needs people that wake up every day happy and excited that he is there. A home that grabs him an extra treat when they are out. A grandma that extra spoils him. A kid that cannot wait to get off that bus to play with him. A bed that is just his. A family.Cotton has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $350.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application if you would like to meet this beautiful boy.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Henrietta is a sweet and intelligent dog, waiting for a calm, loving home.   As an Aussie mix, Henrietta is a  very  intelligent dog. She is not particularly high energy, but needs daily mental stimulation on top of exercise. She is learning several tricks and has mastered several puzzle toys. She has also picked up how to ask to go outside. (She may have overused that knowledge when the weather was warm, but she is backing off a bit now that the weather is colder.)   When she has had enough exercise and mental work, Henrietta will relax in her crate. It really is her favorite place, and she will default to resting in her crate, even when encouraged to be out. She loves getting attention or just being near you, though she does take some time to be comfortable around new people.    Henrietta is adapting well to living in a home. She sometimes gets startled by new sounds, but is quickly becoming accustomed to her surroundings. She is crate-trained and finds her crate to be a safe place. She will retreat to it when she is scared. She is just starting to feel comfortable enough to explore her surroundings. She is very sensitive and eager to please. If she starts exploring something that isn’t for her, calling her or giving a calm redirect is all she needs. She would not do well with firm corrections or loud shouting.   Although Henrietta is making great progress in her foster home, there are some things that she will need to be successful in her new family. She is small, and unknown people standing over her scare her. She will come to those who are sitting or crouching on her level. She would do best in a home without small children, and with people who understand that loud, quick movements will make her nervous. She will need a family that can give her time and space to feel safe and get down on her level with her.   When Henrietta came to rescue, it was stated that she is an escape artist. At first, she tried backing out of her harness, so she will definitely need a good harness and not just a collar for walks or trips to the yard. She will also do best with a fenced yard or a quiet neighborhood as long walks are probably not in the cards for Henrietta until she feels comfortable in her surroundings.   As you earn her trust, she can be given more freedom. She can now be loose in the fenced yard at her foster home, as she will come when called. She really likes being with her person and does not want to be left behind, but first she needs to see you as her person. Henrietta will not even go into the yard now unless her foster mom is in the yard with her. (No watching from the relative shelter of the porch, for this one.)   Henrietta does not seem to be comfortable around other dogs. She isn’t aggressive, but she is very intimidated by them. She shows curiosity towards them when crated in the same room or through a gate, but will not come out of the crate and into the room while even one dog is in the same room. Even a play bow from across the room will start her shaking in her crate if the door is open. She does not initiate any interactions when outside together and prefers to keep her distance, but does not start shaking like she does inside. Hopefully this changes as she gains more confidence. She would not do well with a dog that does not give her space at first.   Henrietta will be a wonderful addition to the right home. She is so sweet and happy and brave. Story
Hi! My name is Wyatt, and I am from Tennessee! From his foster: Wyatt is such a sweet, calm, happy go lucky puppy! He is a dream on a leash, for a puppy. He's curious, friendly with everyone, and everything! He loves playing with kids and other dogs. We call him the house decorator because he picks things up randomly then puts them elsewhere in the room (or house). Toys, shoes, boxes, socks, cups if he can pick up he will find it a new spot. Most things don't have marks on them even! He's already making so much progress with potty training and crate training! He's still over 50% off the way there for both! Sometimes he's the"annoying little brother" to older dogs to get them to play more. He will pester the other dog to play with him until they do, which some grumpier dogs may not like. We are sure he will be a great dog to a wonderful family!!
