Story
Hi there, I’m Mina! My foster mom says I’m one of the most gorgeous pups she’s ever met! I was brought here to Minnesota from Alabama where I had a rough start to life. Me and my siblings were found abandoned under a log in the woods as tiny little babies. When we were found, we were hungry and covered with mange – most of us didn’t have much hair! Thanks to rescue and the kind care of my Alabama foster momma, I now have all my wavy fur back, and it’s soft as a bunny. I am THRIVING in my MN foster home with two foster sisters who are teaching me all about this thing called “zoomies.” My fenced backyard is a great place for running and playing, but also makes for some great bird watching too! My favorite kind of people are definitely women, but I’m really starting to warm up to my foster dad. The other dogs in my house assure me he’s pretty great- which they aren’t wrong, he does give the best scratches and not to mention the bestest yummy treats! I am already spayed, potty trained, and crate trained! Couldn’t get much better than that if you ask my foster mama! Oh, did I mention I’m also OBSESSED with toys?! Any kind you name it I will play with it. My all time favorites are stuffies as big as me, and the really fun squeaky ones! I may get called a toy hoarder as I like to tuck away my favorites in my crate for later. I mean, it is one of my favorite places to hang out so I might as well make it my own! I am an amazing snuggler and a total sweetheart. Not to mention, a big goofy girl! I am SO ready for a family of my own. Could that be you? --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $575To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Hi, my name is Minnow, and I came to Minnesota angling for a family to love! I’m the smallest of my litter, weighing only 4 pounds. My foster mom tells me that being tiny doesn’t matter because my personality, energy, and spunk can’t be contained. She says I‘m “larger than life!” I’m usually in the middle of all the action, and I give playtime everything I've got! But all that playing can tire me out, and that’s when I want to snuggle and sleep in my human’s lap. Because I have so much love to give, I am sure that when I meet my forever family, I will reel them in, hook, line, and sinker! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Hi, my name is Muskie, and I’m the social butterfly of my group! I enjoy playing and exploring with my canine siblings, and I also adore being with my humans too! My foster mom tells me I‘m very brave because I am the first one to try new things. She says I’m super alert and focused, and that I can always find ways to entertain myself if the others are too tired to play! But when I’ve had enough action, all I want to do is cuddle with my people. I might not be very big, but the family that lands me can be sure they have caught a keeper, and they will be rewarded with so much love!--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Hi, my name is Koi, and just like the exotic fish, my coloring is distinctive and beautiful. I’m not very big, but I have a huge heart! My foster mom says I’m the observer of the pack, because I like to watch what my siblings are doing, and then I join in with whatever looks like the most fun! I like my brothers and my sister, and I enjoy playing hard with them. But I follow my foster mom around and I’m the most happy when she picks me up to hold me. Snuggling is THE BEST! I know my forever family is out there, and when we find each other, I promise to give them my complete attention and 100% of my love!--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Story
A foster favorite, (and neighbor endorsed), Tettegouche is an affectionate tri-colored pup with lots of speckles including on his belly. Tettegouche is a well socialized pup that we believe is about 10-11 weeks old. He arrived at PUP well fed and well cared for. We think his mom (pictured) is a Swiss White Shepherd (basically a white German shepherd) mix. Daddy was probably an Aussie X but that is best guess. Tettegouche is very sweet and a good cuddler. He is playful and loves people. We believe Tettegouche will weigh about 55-65 as an adult but that is best guess, and his adopter should be prepared to love him if he is a fit larger when he is all done growing. Tettegouche and his 3 siblings were surrendered to PUP by their owners who lived in a remote rural area. They wanted to find good homes for their pups so they surrendered them to PUP and asked if we would help them get their mom dog spayed. The answer was yes. Puppies are now living with other puppies and dogs and are thriving. They have had lots of company and lap up the attention. Tettegouche is doing a very good job of learning housebreaking, but he is not quite there yet. He takes care of business right away when he goes out. If you take him out on a regular basis, it all ends up outside. He is being crated at night and for 4-5 hour stints during the work day. He walks reasonably well on a leash (for a puppy). The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Tettegouche has been vaccinated and wormed. He will need one more routine vaccination plus rabies at the owner’s expense. The $375 adoption fee (check or cash) includes the cost of pup’s required spay/neuter at 6 months of age provided it is done by one of the PUP vets. We do place puppies outside the metro area but a plan for the required spay/neuter must be in place. We do not ship. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.

Story
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN Hi there! My name is Grinch, but my mom says I am the version of the Grinch AFTER his heart grew three sizes :) The only gift I wish for this season is a new family and home to call my own! My foster mom says I am one of the tiniest puppies she has ever had and she doesn't expect me to get over 40-50lbs full grown. Isn't that the perfect size?? I love to play with my siblings and have little white toes that are the cutest. I haven't met other big dogs yet, since I am so small, but since I am a very young puppy my foster mom thinks I will have 0 issues. Same with kids and cats! I love to chew on her shoe laces and pant bottoms, and have typical puppy behaviors. Since I am so young and little, and it's cold outside, I haven't been able to start potty training yet! I do use potty pads and my foster mom thinks I should be pretty easy to train given that I am a rez pup and we are the smartest breed out there :) If you think you would be a good home for me over the holidays, please apply! I can't wait to meet you! ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Location: Brooklyn Park, MN Hi my name is Snowflake! Have you been looking for the cutest companion this holiday season? Because here I am! My foster mom has me and my 2 brothers, and secretly says I am her favorite but shhh don't tell them that. I have the cutest tiny ears and just light up when I see her! I love human attention and pets, but also like to chew on toys and foster moms shoe laces like a normal puppy :) I am the first one of me and my siblings to great new people, and love to be the center of attention. I am pretty small, and my foster mom says I will only probably be around 40lbs fully grown. Since I am so small still, it's quite cold out for me to be going potty outside and my new home will need to work on potty training with me. The Minnesota winters are tough on little puppies like me! If you think I would be a good fit for you and your family, please fill out an app to meet me! ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Location: Brooklyn Park, MN Hi! My name is Chestnut and I am the fluffiest, chunkiest sibling of my group. I make my foster family laugh so much and am the goofiest guy! I LOVE food, and like to put my whole body in the food bowl to make sure I get the most :) I am very playful and do the funniest little jumps and zoomies that you have ever seen. I also LOVE to chew on my foster moms shoe laces, it's so fun! My fluffy fur is the cutest and I am snuggly as can be as well. What's better than a snuggly puppy around Christmas time? I am pretty small still, and get cold and shivery when I go outside so I don't like to potty out there yet. My next family will have to work on potty training with me! I am currently with my sister and brother in a foster home, and should do well with dogs, cats, and children just given my age and size. If you think I would be a good fit in your family, fill out an app! Story
A portion of Moana's s adoption fee has been sponsored by her friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $400.00 will be applied during the contract process Hi! My name is Moana and I am an owner surrender. This special needs beautiful little girl has made wonderful strides in the 2 months that I've had her. She's getting stronger bit by bit. She is personality plus! She loves to snuggle, loves to play and just gets sooo very excited when you talk to her, get down on the floor to play with her and if the big resident dogs are even just near her. She has a feisty side, too, and does not like to be left out of anything!! She is making great progress in potty training and she'll usually vocally alert you-day or night- when she has to go...but know that she'll still have some accidents. At this point, she doesn't have the coordination to be upright to eat on her own so I still hold her securely in my lap to feed her several small meals a day and also to keep her hydrated (I soak her kibble and still give her some soft food. She will not drink straight water so we are still working on that and by soaking her kibble, it flavors the water and she'll drink it to get to the kibble.) She loves all people and dogs. She hasn't had contact with cats yet that I know of. She'll need flat, safe surfaces when she's in her wheels. She does best on carpets or rugs or grass when upright in her harness to practice balance, strength and walking. She'll need to continue strengthening her muscles and working on her balance. At this point, she cannot get up from the floor on her own. Once she's on her side, she can only move around by scratching/shuffling. She does great for car rides. She sleeps nicely in her soft sided kennel at night, only alerting me by whimpering once or twice per night that she has to go out to potty. She is one of the happiest pups that I've ever fostered and will give her forever family sooooo much love!! From the vet team: Hello! I arrived at Secondhand Hounds as part of the Fighter Fund program due to my Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) diagnosis. CH is a condition resulting from inadequate development of the cerebellum which causes lack of balance/coordination, ambulating, head bobbing, tremors, etc. The SHH Vet Team has provided my foster with physical therapy exercises to help gain strength but I will always have this condition. I have a wheel chair and a harness to help with movement but it is also recommended that my future adopter lay down rubber mats to help with my movement. My future adopter should understand my condition and monitor my health with a primary veterinarian. Also, I have an upcoming surgery with an opthamologist due to ablation of eyelashes which will freeze and kill the hair follicles to help prevent regrowth of these abnormal hairs. This surgery and eye recheck appointment will be covered by SHH as long as it is performed at Animal Eye Speciality Center/Secondhand Hounds Vet Center.

Story
Hi! My name is Marmaduke and I am from Missouri. From the foster: The name is not fitting for this little guy. Marmaduke is a shy little guy but comes out of his shell once he gets to know you. Great cuddler and lap dog. Loves to watch tv. Marmaduke is not sure about how to play yet but is getting there. He likes to follow his buddy resident dog around and is learning good habits. He is good in a crate and sleeps through the night. Would be a great apartment dog he barely makes a sound. Because of his shyness, I would suggest a household with adults and or older children. He is great with other dogs.
