Story

Cayden is a 5 yr old, 43 lb Australian Shepherd who was never supposed to make it this far, and now he’s ready to discover what he’s been missing. Born with a dangerously narrow heart valve, Cayden’s early years were spent living a very sheltered life. No rough play. No excitement. No adventures with other dogs. His family did everything they could to protect him, never knowing if a moment of exertion might be too much for his heart. But Cayden proved them wrong. Five years later, his heart was stronger, and he became a candidate for surgery. He underwent a pulmonic balloon valvuloplasty, and it was a success! His heart is now strong enough for him to experience the world he was once protected from. The challenge: the world is very new to him. Cayden is now learning some of the lessons other dogs learned as puppies. Bikes, strollers, lawnmowers, unfamiliar people and dogs can leave him wondering, “What am I supposed to do with that?” He’s making wonderful progress, learning to look to his person for guidance when something is unfamiliar. His confidence is growing right along with trust in his people. He has discovered some pretty wonderful things along the way. Cayden loves car rides, puzzle toys and lick mats, and he has a special weakness for people who get down on the floor. Get low, and there’s a good chance Cayden will come over to become your new best friend. And get this: thunderstorms and fireworks don’t seem to bother him much at all! Because Cayden missed those early experiences with other dogs, he needs to be the only dog in his home. He likes dogs, but he doesn’t yet understand how to share his home and live cooperatively with them. Cayden is housebroken, has lovely house manners, and is ready for a person who will continue showing him that the world is a safe and wonderful place. After five years of being protected from life, Cayden finally has the chance to live it. Cayden is being fostered in Minneapolis, MN. His adoption fee is $250 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Hi, my name is Max and I am from Arkansas! My name is Max and my foster parents say I am a very smart boy. I already learned how to sit and after a few tries I will sit and stay for my food or treats. I love playing fetch just as much as I love cuddles. I am still working on potty training but I do sleep through the night in my crate. I am a very gentle boy and do great with kids and other dogs. I have yet to meet any cats but I think I would like them as well.

Story

Meet Flash, a handsome Australian Shepherd with a gorgeous, fluffy tail and a heart that's just waiting to shine! Flash is a fun-loving boy at the perfect age of puppy playful and adult calm! This fun-loving boy is learning what it means to simply be a dog, and every day he grows a little more confident and discovers something new to love. Flash can be a little shy when meeting new people (yummy treats help big time), preferring to take his time getting to know you. But once you've earned his trust, he's completely devoted to his people. His sweet, loyal nature makes the bond you build with him incredibly special. He's enjoying learning new things, including how fun a game of fetch can be! Flash also likes going for walks, where he can explore the world at his own pace. He's getting used to crate life and continues to make great progress with patience, encouragement, and a consistent routine.Flash does rely on his foster family's resident dog for cues and clues, thus another dog in the house is needed for him. Flash is looking for a family that will give him the time and understanding he needs to blossom. In return, you'll gain a loving, faithful companion who will reward your patience with endless loyalty, quiet affection, and plenty of happy adventures. If you're looking for a gentle soul to grow alongside, Flash just might be your perfect match. If you would like to meet Flash, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story

Hi, I’m Ella! 🐾💗I’m a petite 35-pound girl with a gentle soul and the most gorgeous, trusting eyes. I’m shy at first and need a little time to warm up, but I’m getting braver every day!Once I’m comfortable, my happy wiggle booty comes out, and my tail just won’t stop! I’m a quick learner, a super sweet cuddlebug, and I love my people. Other animals? I pretty much ignore them. 😉When I’m feeling brave, I love doing a few quick zoomies around the yard before heading back inside for an important nap. I also love hopping up on couches, steps, benches, and other cozy elevated spots so I can keep an eye on what’s happening around me. 👀I'm working hard on doing my business outside and do pretty well on a schedule!I just need someone patient to give me time to blossom. I promise my wiggles, cuddles, and sweet heart will be worth the wait! ❤️--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Hi, I’m Eleanor! 🐾❤️I’m a 49-pound cuddle-bug with a gentle soul, a loyal heart, and a whole lot of love to give.If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I LOVE being close to my people. Whether it’s leaning in for some affection, soaking up your touch, or climbing right into your lap, I’m happiest when I’m near someone I love. ❤️I’m a quiet, easygoing girl with wonderful manners. I’m potty-trained, sleep peacefully through the night in my crate, and enjoy leisurely walks with my foster family. I get along beautifully with dogs, cats, kids, and adults alike.I’m still discovering the joys of playing, relaxing, and simply being a dog. A little more of my sweet personality shines through every day, but one thing is already clear: I have so much love to give, and I’m ready to give my whole heart to someone special. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will happily be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your devoted best friend, I might just be the missing piece of your heart. 🐾❤️--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.
