From Sneaker's Foster mom: I have a never-ending list of wonderful things to say about Miss Sneakers! First and foremost, she is incredibly sweet and responds wonderfully to training. She’s not only treat-motivated, but also thrives on praise—which is so easy to give, because she’s truly a good girl. She’s completely potty trained and adapts well to both a house or apartment lifestyle. Sneakers already knows several commands: sit, lay down, off, wait, and—of course—“good girl.” She’s gentle with her toys and prefers stuffed animals over puzzle toys. Her favorite snacks are biscuits, bully sticks, and meat treats—though she’s not a fan of peanut butter. She gets plenty of exercise with 2–3 walks a day (plus some running!) to help burn off energy. Behavior & Socialization: Sneakers is considered reactive, meaning she gets nervous around new people and may bark to try and keep them away. But in the short time I’ve had her, she’s already shown amazing progress with consistent, positive exposure—especially in outdoor spaces like parks, where she can take things at her own pace. She simply needs time and patience to build trust. Once she does, she bonds deeply. ‍ Bonds quickly with women ‍ Slower to trust men Would do best in a home with older kids (she’s a little jumpy and sensitive about her tail) No cats due to prey drive (not officially tested) Best as the only dog—she’s shown nervous behavior around others Her Ideal Home: Sneakers needs a calm, structured home with patient humans who’ll give her space and support as she decompresses. Once she feels safe, she is the sweetest soul. She loves: Tummy rubs Hand-holding (yes, really!) Walks in the park Sunbathing Taking treats ever so gently She’s a total mama’s girl, and I know she’ll thrive in the right adoptive home—one that sees the loving, loyal dog she already is. I’m Bell—athletic, affectionate, and told I have excellent cuddle chemistry. I’m the kind of girl who loves staying active by running around and having the occasional full-speed zoomie, but don’t be fooled—I’m also a professional snuggler and certified belly-rub enthusiast. I get along great with other dogs and cats (I’m very socially well-rounded), and I’ve already mastered house manners and leash skills—because I believe in bringing my best self to any relationship. I’m happiest when I’m included in daily life, whether that’s adventuring outside or curling up at night in a cozy bed with my humans. I’ll be honest: crates aren’t really my vibe. I prefer sleeping close, sharing warmth, and being your dream companion dog—the kind who makes your house feel like home. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a big heart, soft belly, and just the right amount of zoom… swipe right on Bell.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. Meet Sally, a one-year-old sweetheart with a heart full of joy and just the right amount of puppy sparkle. She’s still rocking that youthful energy and loves to play, explore, and soak up everything the world has to offer. She is house trained and crate trained—though she may need a little time to settle once she’s in, especially if there’s fun happening nearby. Sally is doing great with leash training and is eager to learn, even if her excitement sometimes gets the best of her (can you blame her? Walks are thrilling!). Sally is a social butterfly who plays well with other dogs and gets along with cats, making her a wonderful fit for a multi-pet household. She’s affectionate, friendly, and would thrive with a family ready to continue her training, give her plenty of playtime, and love her through her puppy phase and beyond. If you’re looking for a happy, loving companion who will keep you smiling and your life a little more fun, Sally might just be your perfect match. Temp foster needed from 2/5 - 2/13! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can say YES to fostering this animal! Hi, my name is Bentley and I am from Minnesota. From his foster: Bentley is a curious and energetic boy who can be a little timid when he first meets you, but after a couple of days he really starts to get comfortable. He loves to go on walks and run around the yard, play fetch and lay on the couch with you. Bentley is also very receptive to training cues, especially when given a treat. Bentley would thrive with someone who is patient, willing to continue training, and active. Bentley has shown a lot of improvement with his back, he seems to have no issue being pet there anymore. Bentley is also a little sneaky and will try to slip through gaps in the door when he can to go outside and run around, continued training is advised. From the Vet: When Bentley came for his first exam at The BB Vet Center he was sensitive to touch on his back. He doesn't show any signs of pain in his foster home and right now he is only on an omega-3 supplement for joint support and doing very well!

Story
Hi there! My name is Pip, but you can call me Pippi Dogstocking or the Pipster, both nicknames that fit my bright, bouncy personality. I’m a 3-year-old. 34# Border Collie. My first 3 years were not ideal, but believe you me, with my new family, I will live the BEST life moving forward. I’m best described as resilient, happy, playful, affectionate, energetic, and alert. My soft, cute exterior hides a busy brain – I like to keep myself occupied. My theme song is “Jump” by Van Halen, because that’s how I show my excitement about… well, everything. My favorite things? Attention tops the list, followed closely by food, toys, and games like tug and fetch. I adore my people and want to be right in the middle of whatever is happening in my home. Because of that enthusiasm, I’m still learning about personal space and tend to jump or climb into laps uninvited. Training classes will be right up my alley, though. I’m eager to please, smart, and will absolutely shine with structure and guidance. My energy level is not for the faint of heart; I’m not off the charts but need something to do with my brain and body every day. I’d love an active, herding-breed–experienced home with a fenced yard or safe place to run so I can show off my speed. People who want to take me running, try agility or dog sports or simply believe in staying busy are perfect. A feline-free home is best; cats are a bit too interesting. A playful canine sibling would be da bomb! Older kids would be ok. Because I’m still learning not to nip and jump, littles are not a good fit. I’m housebroken with supervision and crate-trained (though I may protest with FOMO). Leash leash walking is a work in progress – it’s brand new to me! I’m gaining confidence every day. I’m on the slim side right now, working to gain a few healthy pounds with good food and love. If you’re looking for a devoted, active, joyful companion who’s ready to learn and love with her whole heart, I might just be your girl. Pip is being fostered in Minneapolis, MN. APPLY TO ADOPT Pip at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Pip is being treated with a 30-day course of doxycycline for Lyme and Anaplasmosis. We do not expect any long-term effect from these conditions. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Pip's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. She will be spayed and microchipped soon: her adoption fee includes the cost for these procedures. She is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Story
Sweet Maisie is a 6-year-old, 36# Border Collie with a heart as gentle as her big brown eyes. She is the perfect mid-sized companion who enjoys cuddling, walks, and hanging with her people. Affectionate and friendly with everyone she meets, Maisie greets visitors politely and loves being part of the family. The most remarkable thing about Maisie is her incredible intuition. She looks deep into your eyes and connects with you on a level that only a special canine companion can. This beauty is always ready for a stroll or time patrolling the backyard. Once inside, she is well-behaved and easy to live with. When it’s time to relax, she is right at your feet or waiting to be invited beside you on the couch, happy to soak up affection. Trustworthy loose in the house, and will crate if needed. Entertains herself nicely and loves a good chew bone. Maisie is doing very well on leash. #1 on her wish list is a fenced yard where she can watch the world and sniff to her heart's content. She is learning that car rides lead to fun new places. Maisie is a smart girl who picks up new routines easily. She’s building confidence every day and would thrive with a family that enjoys peaceful walks, quiet companionship, and plenty of love. Older kids who are kind and gentle would suit her just fine. She is good with other dogs and meets them politely on walks. Maisie lives with another dog in her foster home, and would enjoy a companionable canine roommate. She could also be an only dog. With the most loving heart you could ask for, Maisie is ready to bring warmth and joy to her forever home. She is being fostered in Richfield, MN. APPLY TO ADOPT Maisie at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Story
Paul is dreaming of his very own home! He's sensitive and curious. Loving and a little unsure. Gentle. A wonderful, devoted companion looking for a quieter home with people that share his love of simple things like being outside, playing with toys and CHEESE! Cozy evenings on the couch with family. He’s a homebody if we ever met one. He is a Border Collie mix born in early May 2024, 55#. He wants to FIND HIS FOREVER! Paul flourishes in a familiar, calm environment where he gets to spend lots of time with his people. His ideal family understands the importance of building trust with shy dogs and moves at their pace. A fenced yard is a big priority – he absolutely loves being outside in all kinds of weather, showing off his goofy, silly personality. LOVES his crate – it’s a safe space to relax. Best with adults and respectful, gentle teenagers. Paul has lovely manners with other dogs, happily interacting with canines of all sizes. MUST have a canine buddy in his new home to make him feel safe and model confident behaviors. In return, he’s a low-maintenance lifelong friend. He lives happily with cats. Once settled in a new home and bonded to his people, Paul would like to expand his world. With his family and canine sibling in tow, he will gain confidence out in the world. He will always be happiest at home. When he’s comfortable, he is confident and happy – check out his proud prance in his video montage https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zO6u8O21AVA?feature=share Paul is a naturally alert dog and notices the little things. Unexpected sounds or sights like plastic bags blowing down the street or a squeaky ceiling fan get his attention. Paul takes 20 mg fluoxetine daily to help him feel more relaxed. The cost of this medication is less than $6 a month on Chewy.com Paul will add so much love to his forever family. We can’t wait to see what’s next for this special boy. He is being fostered in Rochester, MN. APPLY to adopt him at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit.
