Story
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. From Sneaker's Foster mom: I have a never-ending list of wonderful things to say about Miss Sneakers! First and foremost, she is incredibly sweet and responds wonderfully to training. She’s not only treat-motivated, but also thrives on praise—which is so easy to give, because she’s truly a good girl. She’s completely potty trained and adapts well to both a house or apartment lifestyle. Sneakers already knows several commands: sit, lay down, off, wait, and—of course—“good girl.” She’s gentle with her toys and prefers stuffed animals over puzzle toys. Her favorite snacks are biscuits, bully sticks, and meat treats—though she’s not a fan of peanut butter. She gets plenty of exercise with 2–3 walks a day (plus some running!) to help burn off energy. Behavior & Socialization: Sneakers is considered reactive, meaning she gets nervous around new people and may bark to try and keep them away. But in the short time I’ve had her, she’s already shown amazing progress with consistent, positive exposure—especially in outdoor spaces like parks, where she can take things at her own pace. She simply needs time and patience to build trust. Once she does, she bonds deeply. ‍ Bonds quickly with women ‍ Slower to trust men Would do best in a home with older kids (she’s a little jumpy and sensitive about her tail) No cats due to prey drive (not officially tested) Best as the only dog—she’s shown nervous behavior around others Her Ideal Home: Sneakers needs a calm, structured home with patient humans who’ll give her space and support as she decompresses. Once she feels safe, she is the sweetest soul. She loves: Tummy rubs Hand-holding (yes, really!) Walks in the park Sunbathing Taking treats ever so gently She’s a total mama’s girl, and I know she’ll thrive in the right adoptive home—one that sees the loving, loyal dog she already is. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well. ##1986660##

Hi, my name is Samoa and I am from Georgia! From her foster: Samoa is an absolute sweetheart! She loves to cuddle and play with toys and pretty much do anything that gets her love and attention. She is rambunctious and curious and loves to investigate everything with a sniff, making us think she has some kind of hound (beagle or other) in her. She is incredibly smart and eager to learn - she’s already learned sit, down, and touch and potty training has been a breeze. She sleeps in her crate without issue and has minimal complaints spending time in it throughout the day - so long as you give her a treat, she is having a good time.

I am looking for a foster or forever family! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can say YES to fostering this animal! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi, my name is Pinnacle and I am from Georgia! From his foster: Pinnacle is a very playful and energetic social dog. He loves playing catch and chewy toys. He will often chew on a lot of items like his bed and your shoes. He loves playing in the snow and running with you and generally loves being outside. He loves giving kisses and has a lot of energy. He is very curious about things and people and does not shy away. Around the house, he will follow you around curious about what you’re doing. I think Pinnacle would do best in a home with a backyard where he can play and run, as well as with someone who can train him and take the time to play with him a lot.

I am looking for a foster or forever family! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can say YES to fostering this animal! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi, my name is Bentley and I am from Minnesota. From his foster: Mr. Bentley is a total sweetheart. All floof and big puppy energy. He flops right over the second you start petting him. He loves sitting in your lap, giving smooches, and resting his paws on you just to stay close. :) Bentley is house trained and sleeps like a champ through the night in his crate. He’s at his best with regular exercise, mental stimulation, and time together. He does great with other dogs. My adoption includes some training sessions for my new family to set me up for success! Bentley is a curious boy and eager to please. When he’s excited for attention, he may use his mouth to communicate. When something feels new or uncomfortable, he may use nipping to say, “I’m not sure about this.” He’s already making great progress and gaining confidence every day, but he’ll need continued training and positive reinforcement to build good habits. He listens really well. Bentley will thrive in a home with supportive, patient, and dog-experienced people who enjoy helping a young dog learn and grow. Give Bentley your love, and he’ll make you his whole world. From the Vet: When Bentley came for his first exam at The BB Vet Center he was sensitive to touch on his back. He doesn't show any signs of pain in his foster home and right now he is only on an omega-3 supplement for joint support and doing very well!

Story
Meet Poncho!! Intelligent, energetic and sweet, Poncho is a 2.5 yr old Border Collie mix. He has a young, happy heart and lights up like a kid on Christmas morning while playing with his ball or rope tug toy. He is loyal to his core, loving his family with everything he has. In fact, his theme song is “I’ll Stand By You” by the Pretenders. Poncho was a little too well loved in his prior home and is making progress toward achieving a healthy weight. His goal is around 50# from a current 56#. Luckily, he is excited to take his people for walks and show them around town. He pulls on leash for the first few minutes, then settles in nicely. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy strolls before or after work (or both) with this handsome lad. Like many highly intelligent dogs, Poncho wants to use his big brain in addition to getting daily exercise. He enjoys puzzle toys and working on basic obedience skills. He can’t wait to take classes and be the star pupil! His foster family is helping him learn how to relax by using a mat for downtime where he enjoys chewing on bones or working on a Kong. Poncho is a great fit for families that appreciate and understand smart, engaged herding dogs. He can live with dog-savvy kids roughly 10+, and hopes they enjoy playing fetch! He dreams of a fenced yard and is also well suited to families who keep their dogs safe on leash. He is house and kennel trained. Poncho loves life as an only dog and does well meeting new canine friends for walks and excursions. He tries to gently herd the kitty in his foster home, but we feel he would be more comfortable in a cat-free home. This special dog deserves all the love he puts into the world with his optimistic, upbeat approach to life. If you enjoy the company only a devoted dog can provide, APPLY to adopt Poncho at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Poncho is being fostered in Forest Lake, MN. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Poncho's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Meet Nick, a tender-hearted, 4-year-old, 50# Border Collie ready to discover what it feels like to be truly treasured. He is the kind of dog whose gentle presence fills a home with warmth. He's adoring, amorous, and cuddly. If you're looking for a special connection, Nick wants to meet you! Nick’s favorite thing in the whole world is simple: attention from his people. He melts with affection, and happily settles in close once he trusts you. He enjoys getting out for daily walks, with a love of quiet nature trails where he can take in new sights (and smells!) at his own pace. Because his life before rescue was limited, many experiences are still new to him. Nick is optimistic and willing to learn about the world. With patience and reassurance, he’s blossoming beautifully - look at his proud smile in pictures! This handsome guy would thrive in a moderately active home with a calm vibe. People who enjoy including their dog in their daily rhythm are a perfect fit. A fenced yard is ideal, and he can live with a family with a history of keeping dogs safe on leash. He doesn’t require an experienced herding-dog family; he simply needs people who are kind and ready to help him build confidence. He’s good with cats and can live with older kids. While a canine sibling would be a lovely bonus, it’s not required if his humans are engaged with him. Nick is still working on his housebreaking (schedule helps!) and basic obedience skills. He lights up with praise for a job well done. He finds comfort in his crate, and walks better on leash all the time. His foster family describes him as an eager, open-hearted student. If you're looking for a deeply bonded companion, Nick is ready to make up for lost time. He will become the cherished best friend he was always meant to be. Nick is being fostered in Clear Lake, MN (near St. Cloud). Paul. Nick's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. Story
Update: PENDING ADOPTION! I’m Tully, and I long to be someone’s heart dog. I’m a 5-year-old, 40# Border Collie with a soft spirit, a curious mind, and a love of life’s quieter joys, especially cuddles. If you start humming “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder as you read about me, don’t worry… that’s my theme song following me around like a charming soundtrack. My favorite activities are about time with my family: curling up next to you while you work, resting my head on your leg, or melting into a chest scratch. Rope toys are fun to play with and I recently discovered the fun of chew bones! A daily romp in a safely fenced space would make me very happy, especially if there’s room to trot and sniff the breeze.* Another dog in my new home could be my best friend, but I am so people-focused that being an only dog works for me too. I’m crate-trained (it’s my safe nest) housebroken on a schedule. It’s important you know that I’m working on building my confidence. Loud noises, passing cars, new places, and unfamiliar people startle me. I need time, patience, and gentle reassurance while I learn the world is safe. My main goal is to make my people happy - I rely on them to show me the world in a way that feels safe. The ideal home for me includes calm, kind people. Maybe a laid-back couple who prefers cozy evenings “in.” Older kids who mesh with my relaxed jam would be ok. Someone that will help me explore in small doses. I’m a smart girl and pick up routines quickly. All I really ask for is love, time, and room in your heart. Every day I get braver and I have to say I’m proud of my progress. Give me time to trust you, and I’ll give you everything I have. Soft eyes, loyal devotion, and the kind of companionship that makes me truly unforgettable. If you’re looking for that once-in-a-lifetime connection with a dog, APPLY to adopt Tully at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt *Tully is not a candidate for invisible fencing systems Tully is being fostered in Ames, Iowa.
