To help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. Those emails will get the quickest response, we do the best we can, but if we have to follow up with an email asking you about yourself and waiting for a response, well, we have already moved on to the next email that has provided the details. We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! :) Banjo and his brother, Cello, are more than ready to go to their very own homes. It would be great for them to be adopted together, but that is not necessary. We would say they are Pug mixes. Banjo is a little shorter and stockier, he looks like he could have Corgi in him, which is called a "Porgi", how cute is that!! Cello has the Pug look as well, but is a little taller. He looks like a Pug/Shepard mix, also called a Shug. If you google this mix you will see a couple dogs that look just like Cello. It is possible to have different fathers for the same littler of pups, so that could explain their differences. How fun to have such a unique little dog, and what a potentially odd combination!! They both have unique personalities and interests(Yes, dogs have interests, lol). Cello is a bit more independent and loves to go exploring on his own, loves watching the gophers under the bird feeders, the goldfish in the pond(tried to tap them with his paw!), and once even caught a turtle, not much to brag about there, lol. Banjo on the other hand is more the life of the party kind of guy. He is happy and outgoing, LOVES to play with the other dogs and play fetch. He is a goofy, bouncy, roly poly kind of guy. As much as he likes to chase the balls, those stubby little legs just can't keep up with some of the bigger guys-lol. Both boys when indoors are very peaceful and quiet, they find a bed or blanket to lay on and relax. They do sleep in a crate at night, and are more than happy to snuggle in with a couple of treats or a treated kong. They are also well mannered, are not destructive and are housebroken, they are very easy to care for. But, they could use an experienced dog owner, and probably would do better in a home without small children. They are 3 years old and about 30 pounds. Cello's adoption fee is $250, or both Cello and Banjo can be adopted for $400. They will go home with tons of supplies to help them settle into their new home! Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.

They both have unique personalities and interests(Yes, dogs have interests, lol). Where as Banjo loves playing with the other dogs most of his day, Cello is a bit more independent. Although he will play for a bit with everyone, he is content to venture out on his own. Maybe he is more of an introvert?? Whatever the case may be, Cello loves exploring, checking out the yard and looking for exciting things. So far he has discovered the gophers that lurk under the bird feeders just out of reach on the other side of the gate. They are really fun for Cello to watch!! He fancies himself a bit of a hunter, but so far the only thing he has caught is a turtle. The guy didn't have a chance. But, he was put safely in the pond next door. Cello is fascinated by the large goldfish in the backyard pond. He dabs his little foot in the water as they swim by, he is quite the little character. Both boys when indoors are very peaceful and quiet, they find a bed or blanket to lay on and relax. They do sleep in a crate at night, and are more than happy to snuggle in with a couple of treats or a treated kong. Story
****When responding please use our application at sparrowdogs.com, or tell us about yourself,(family, home, yard/fence, other pets, work hours..) Sorry, NO phone calls, email only. PLEASE read thru her post about her description, she is not the dog for everyone, no small kids!) Thanks!*************** Well, first off, we really do not know what the genetic mix is in this mystery girl, lol. At first we thought she looked a bit like opossum! But then when we met her in person we thought she looked like a little Husky!! Who knows, we do know Lori is quite unique, sure to get a bit of attention. At just a petite 8 pounds she may not have Husky in her, but she is not full Chihuahua either. Lori has a longer almost wire like coat, and a bit of a curled tail, and her ears seem just a tad too big for her little face. Lori was confiscated as part of a cruelty case. She was not doing well in the shelter, who can blame her. She came from a rough life and had no idea what was going to happen next. So, she came to our rescue, which is totally foster home based, so Lori could settle in and be a part of a family. She did settle in, just a tad quicker than we expected. But that happens. So many dogs are so scared, intimidated by the whole shelter/rescue situation. Put them into a home environment and they blossom. When they finally make it into their forever family, with time, they finally become their true selves. A little love goes a long ways!! Lori is just a year old, maybe 2 or so?? But she is young. Somewhere along the line she was housebroken and is pretty social. She gets along fine with other dogs, but as she has become comfortable in her foster home a little bossy streak has emerged, lol. She can be a little feisty(our vet said she was a little handful, lol). She needs a family that will be patient with her, let her settle in and not expect her to be a little lap dog right away, she wants a little time to check you out. We do not recommend kids under 10 or so with Lori. She may need her space, and they may not understand. Once Lori trusts you, she is the biggest love. She is a snuggler and a kisser, wants to be by your side all the time. She is sitting right her with me now, if I sit down, she is with me. She will need a family that possibly works at home, or is an active retiree. She is very young, so she does need plenty of exercise. She does love her lap time, but she also is still quite rambunctious and playful as well. Her adoption fee is $350. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.

PLEASE read thru her post about her description, she is not the dog for everyone, no small kids!) Thanks!*************** Well, not the best pictures of this Silly Gilly guy...yet!! But they certainly do frame a little bit of what Gilly is all about, and he really is silly. Gilly is about 2 years old, possibly 3, we do not know. He was abandoned(poor little guy!) and then got attacked by another dog. We were told a good Samaritan took him to and emergency vet clinic where they helped Gilly. The shelter had him listed as Chihuahua/Yorkie mix. We do not really know, but he has more of a wirey coat, possibly a little less shedding, and has a leggy and petite build. He is about 9 pounds but is working on putting on some weight. Unlike his other buddies he has met in his foster home. Which, BTW, he fit in asap...Gilly is a guy that just loves everyone, loves to have fun and has never met a stranger. He is such a sweet little, silly, playful, goofy and lovable boy....we just adore him! Gilly is perfecting his housebreaking skills, and since he was not neutered when he arrived still felt the need to mark. But--!!---he has been doing fantastic. We are so proud of him, and now that he has been neutered it will be so much easier for him in his new home. But, with any dogs we adopt out we always encourage frequent potty breaks, especially after meals and naps. And lots of "atta boys!!" Gilly will do well with an active family. He is not the kind of boy that will do well being left alone for long hours. If you are a little funky yourself, appreciates quirks in other people, (and dogs) and enjoy the lighter side of life, perhaps Gilly would love to join you on your journey. His adoption fee is $350. Kobe is a beautiful 2 year old German shepherd. Kobe loves to be outside. Kobe follows basic commands. He does well on walks. Kobe is 75lbs at two years old. He should be fully grown. Kobe is truthfully an awesome dog. The decision to let him go was hard. We are looking for someone that can take care of him long term.

Story
We received Nora from a family in Aurora who's dogs had an unexpected litter of puppies. Nora is about 3 years old. We are looking and hoping to put Nora in a home that she is the single dog. She doesn't seem to get along with other dogs as she tries to be the dominant dog and will try to assert herself when meeting other dogs as an adult. As a puppy it was never a problem but as she's grown we've had to limit her interactions with stranger dogs. Nora is high energy, she loves to work and play. We took her through a decent amount of training as a puppy and it has stuck with her still. She knows a lot of commands and is typically very well behaved. She is a good dog but we have lost trust with her in our household and hopes she can be a great addition to someone if she is the only dog in the home.
