Story
Gentle boy looking for a confident dog sibling and dog savvy forever family! Meet Fletcher who needs a little time and understanding. He is shy, quiet, and reserved by his nature and might have been overlooked with so many other dogs to compete with. He has been living in a foster home but could use more space to exercise (the foster has a very small yard) and a confident dog to live with to be a bridge between him and humans. He is very sweet and we just know there is a tremendous personality in there! We even see it on the baby monitor when he doesn`t know we are watching. He plays and tosses his toys around- even wags a beautiful tail all around. He just needs to find his forever home and start healing. He is currently in a foster home. Please call Tails at 815-758-2457 or email info@tailshumanesociety.org to schedule a time to meet him.

Story
Handsome and a gentleman, that`s me, Jameson! You will notice right away when meeting me that I have a great zest for life and having fun is my top priority. I play a fun game of fetch and can entertain myself (and you!) with my toys. I am 2 yrs. old, so I`m an energetic young man who is looking for a human counterpart who likes the active life like I do. We can go on lots of runs or walks together! In all honesty, once I`ve had some fun, I could sit outside with you and enjoy being snuggled and petted for the rest of the day! I also like other dogs, especially those who are closer to my size and who enjoy rowdy fun in the yard. And better yet, I`ve been learning some commands and basic obedience here at Tails! And totally better....I am a `Forget-Me-Not` dog, meaning my Adoption Fee is reduced, and someone has sponsored part of my adoption fee!!! Can`t wait to meet you! Hope you`ll stop by soon!

Story
Hi, I’m Sky! I’m 13 years young, I`m a nice medium size, and I’m a gentle, loving girl who just wants to be by your side. I’m very easy to walk and an absolute love. I give sweet kisses and really enjoy soft voices and gentle sweet talk—it makes my tail wag every time. My favorite things are lots of petting, good booty scratches, and treats! I’m house trained, well behaved, and happy just hanging out with you at home. I love to cuddle up close and soak in all the affection. I’m also a great car companion—I get excited to go for rides and sit very politely. I come when you call me outside and I’m wonderful with kids. I haven’t been formally introduced to other dogs here yet. I’m truly just a love bug at heart—and everyone who meets me adores me. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion to share quiet moments and lots of love, please come meet me. I’m ready to spend my golden years being cherished.

Story
Delilah is a sweet and curious girl who`s ready to find her forever home! This lovely lady is a pro in her crate, settling in very well, especially when a trail of yummy treats leads the way to a treat party inside! While she`s not one for toys in her crate, she truly appreciates her quiet space.Out on walks, Delilah is a strong girl with an impressive nose! She`s incredibly interested in all the fascinating scents the world has to offer, spending most of her time with her nose to the ground. A harness would be a great tool to help her manage her excitement and keep her comfortable on her adventures. We`re working on helping her feel more comfortable around other dogs, and her new family should be prepared to continue this positive reinforcement training. She`s currently focused on decompressing and learning to feel safe in her environment.Delilah is a smart cookie! Her oral mouthwash and eye meds go down easiest after a good, long walk. When it comes to playtime, tennis balls are her absolute favorite, and she`ll happily gnaw on a Nylabone or plush toy for a little while before moving on to her next adventure. While Delilah isn`t constantly seeking out attention, she does have her sweet moments! On occasion, she`ll roll over and show you her tummy, asking for some gentle pets. She`s a big fan of cooling down on tile floors when she`s feeling a bit warm, and she absolutely adores being outside in a yard, where she can happily sniff and explore to her heart`s content! Delilah is very treat-motivated, which will be a huge plus for continued training. If you`re looking for a dog who loves to explore, enjoys her personal space, and will thrive with continued positive reinforcement and training, Delilah might just be your perfect match! Delilah does need a home with no young kids and would do best in a home with experience in owning breeds like a Shar Pei. Come meet this wonderful girl and see if she`s the one for you!
