Story
Bentley is a great companion to his family. He loves attention and will do almost anything for a treat. He is potty trained, great with his family kids, follows simple commands (sit, lay, stay), and listens well. He is even able to open the sliding door and front door from the outside if unlocked. Unfortunately, Bentley feels that he is the protector of his family and does not like strangers. He does get anxiety/scared with strangers. He will eventually warm up to people as he gets to know them.

Cali is 2 years old. She is 22.5 pounds. She is a small dog but She is high energy and loves to run and play. She would benefit from a family who has time to spend with her and enjoys taking their dog on hikes/walks/runs. Cali is a lover and is good with kids. She is a family dog and has been with us since she was 3 months old. We have two children that she’s always been around with no problems. Cali is free to a good loving home. Story
Meet Baloo! Born 10/25/2022, he is a very loving 7 month old Great Pyrenees that we feel needs more attention than we can give. We are a very busy family without a fenced in backyard. We can only describe Baloo as a gentle giant, he is calm but also loves to play. He certainly can bark a lot, but has a very sweet demeanor and loves everyone. We hope to find him a loving home!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please say hello to Marnie (or Marnacle the Barnacle as her foster mom calls her!).  She is a young little Shih Tzu mix - we are not sure what the mix is but it is certainly adorable!  Just look at that underbite! Marnie is about 2 years old and she is a small 15 pounds.  Marnie came to us from Texas with Teddy and they both had a rough start.  But now that they are safe and sound with PMR, a new life is just around the corner! Marnie is skittish and nervous in new situations (like events) but a ball of fun in her foster home where she knows she is safe and loved!  She is very playful with other dogs and would love to have one in her new home.  She can be a bit spicy at first but quickly warms up   She plays rough with them and lets them play rough with her.  She is a zoomer outside and loves to be chased and play catch me if you can!   Marnie has a fully fenced yard in her foster home and will require one in her new home - no invisible or portable fences.  She would definitely run if she got spooked and you would never be able to catch her!  Marnie is not leash trained and will need to learn that skill in her forever home.  Marnie loves to give kisses and get booty scratches from her foster mom!  She comes running for attention when she sees other dogs getting love and wants in on it.  Once she feels secure, she allows you to pick her up and she is relaxed in your arms.  Marnie is crate trained and loves to be in there with the door open during the day.  She loves toys and chewies too.   She is working hard on her housetraining and will use potty pads in the house too.  Marnie has been around older kids (13+) and did fine.  We know she doesn't have a mean bone in her body but since she is a flight risk, older kids only in her new home.   Marnie will require regular grooming throughout her life.  Marnie may not be a plug in dog but with a little time and patience, she will be a wonderful addition to your home, making you laugh and smile every day! Marnie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $450Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 25, 2023, 9:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Victoria is a gorgeous, midnight black chihuahua mix.  She is approximately 4 years old and originally came into rescue with 4 very tiny puppies.  Victoria was a street dog, fighting each day for her survival and the survival of her pups.  Living by her wits and trusting no one except herself and her own instincts.   Once Victoria’s ups were adopted into their forever homes, her own anxiety and fear became apparent.  We decided to hold off on her adoption to spend some time with her one-on-one.  She did not trust humans.  She would not allow anyone to come near here, touch or pert her.  She had to be chased and cornered to do something as simple as applying flea medication. This was highly traumatic and stressful to her as well as her foster mom.   With much time and attention, Victoria has shown amazing improvement.  She is not a “normal” dog and most likely never will be.  The scars of the street are healed, but are obviously still present.  She will be successful in the right forever home with the right family.  Patience and love are the name of the game.   Vitoria does like attention – on her own terms.  She does not want to be held & cuddled – but she may curl up next to you or hang over your shoulder from her perch on the back of the couch.  She enjoys being petted behind her ears and having her neck scratched.  If you try to get down close to kiss the top of her head – she bolts like lightning.  She has learned the stay command when being leashed for travel or when you must reach her to apply flea meds.    “Morning Victoria” is a sight to behold and a joy to experience.  Victoria will sleep on the bed and when she sees you are awake, she will come over for pets & a little bit of cuddling.  It is like she is a completely different dog! She will drape herself over your body for a booty scratch and arch her neck so you can reach her.  Once you move to get out of bed, “Morning Victoria” is gone, just like darkness disappearing with the sunrise.  We feel that “Morning Victoria” is the dog Victoria was meant to be, had she not suffered through her street life and the hardships that damaged her original self. The fact that we are able to glimpse this part of her personality each morning is truly a gift.   Victoria is virtually housebroken.  She goes potty outside and uses potty pads while her foster mom is at work.  She sleeps through the night without issue.  Please know that there may be accidents when she moves into her forever home.  It will be very stressful for her, and she may fall back into some of the fear she experienced while on the street.  So many new things at once can be overwhelming, even for humans.  Once again – patience is required here.  She has the ability to be a magnificent dog, but her family has to have the patience to grant her the grace to move forward.   Victoria is not fond of children.  They move too fast and can be loud & unpredictable.  They terrify her.  She will warm to strangers slowly.  She does love other dogs and to see her running & playing makes you forget for a minute that she has any issues at all.  A playful, confident dog will be mandatory in Victoria’s forever home.  It brings her so much joy – and after all she has been through, she deserves every ounce of joy she can get.   Victoria has a strong prey drive – beware all rabbits and squirrels and low-flying birds!  She will stalk and then give chase.  She has never caught anything, but her will is strong and she is ultra-focused when something is in her sights.  In her foster home, sometimes crashing right into the fence is the only thing that has stopped her pursuit, which further enforces the requirement for Victoria to have a fenced yard.   Despite working with her, Victoria does not like the leash.  She will alligator roll, perhaps walk a few steps to get you to lower your guard, but she is truly looking for an escape route.  She is as fast as a bullet and if she gets loose, she is gone baby gone.  Victoria is considered a flight risk and will require a well-maintained, physically strong, minimum 5 ft tall fenced in yard.  No invisible fences can be considered.   If you have an adults-only home, another playful pup, a secure yard and lots of patience and love – please consider Victoria.    Victoria is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $350Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 25, 2023, 9:23 pm
