Story
We adopted Carlos when he was 6 weeks old and he is now 3. He was professionally trained on an e-collar in 2025 and has been a work in progress since. Carlos is your typical snuggle pug who loves and needs your attention and will follow you everywhere you go. His favorite hobby is eating. He snores loud and barks louder. He is the most adorable in the early morning when he rolls over for a belly scratch. He also has a split personality and can be very untruthworthy when nervous or scared. He has nipped friends and family in times of high anxiety. We have taken time to doggy daycare and long stays, he has always done well. We first adopted his brother who shares the same parents, from a different litter. They both fight for dominance and Carlos has been digressing with his training and we are no longer able to welcome guests to our home due to his territorial behavior. We feel he would thrive in an environment with no other animals and no small children until trust is built.

Story
Meet Ruger, a handsome 4 year old boy. We think that he’s a cocker blend with something else, but what? Ruger is a gorgeous chocolate brown with a white chest. He is cocker size, weighing in a 35 lbs. His previous owner said he was a cockapoo, but we don’t see any poodle in him. Ruger is a bit of a shy dog and needs a bit of time to warm up to people. He adores males, following foster dad around. Ruger loves cuddling with foster dad in a recliner. If foster dad isn’t around, Ruger will either lie by you or snuggle in your lap. Ruger is low to moderate energy. Ruger likes playing chase with the female family dog. He was initially apprehensive about walks, but now gleefully dances around when he sees that we’ll put on his harness for a walk around the neighborhood. Ruger loves treats! He will go outside and come right back in just to get a treat. He doesn’t show much interest in dog toys, though. Ruger would be best in a home with teenage or older children, as the activity of young children may be too much for Ruger’s innate shyness. Ruger is largely housetrained. We take him outside at times throughout the day so he can do his business. Sometimes we need to stay outside with him, because he likes to be around people. Walks also help Ruger to do his business. Ruger is 35 lbs, and is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. Ruger is available through New England Brittany rescue at www.nebrittanyrescue.org where one can fill out an adoption application. NY rescue RR263

Story
Lola is a two year old who loves the outdoors, playing ball, swimming and hiking. She also lives to snuggle with her humans. We have only owned her for 3 months. She has adjusted well to crate training and being home alone for about 6 hours at a time. She is very good with adults and older teenagers.

Story
Lexi is about 9yrs. "Lexi Bear" is a nickname. She is a pure bred German Shepherd; a friend gave her to me when she was 3. She loves to play fetch and will for hours if you let her. She enjoys attention and affection but will keep to herself often. She is a gentle dog and listens very well. She is very good in the yard without a leash. She is currently homed with a male bulldog-pit mix and has been for the last 6 years. I would prefer them to be re-homed together in the same home. They have always been pals and are great around kids. Lexi has had an autoimmune issue with her skin and eyes since she was about 3 years old. She is currently on low dose meds and it has been working well, but the Vet is unsure of long term side effects. The autoimmune condition has caused low vision (has improved greatly) and she would get severely itchy/infected skin when she wasn't on medication (due to autoimmune condition). I hope she can be in a home that gives her the daily care and activity she needs
