Story
PiperFemale/SpayedBull terrier mix1 year old63 pounds Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Piper! I have been on a search for my furever home for quite sometime now. Not sure why that is as I am just the cutest, goofiest girl you will ever meet.  I am in need of…  ‍ An active family. Do you like running? I could be your running paw-tner. I love hiking & swimming too ‍ An only pet household. I am a true princess & require all the attention for myself A committed family willing to continue keeping up with my training I have worked so hard on I am a true lover. Once I get all my exercise in, & am tired out, I love nothing more than to cuddle with you on the couch. I love giving hugs & kisses I am crate trained, potty trained, and have undergone obedience training. I walk like a true dream on the leashI am very food motivated which makes training really easy for me. I love eating my meals out of puzzle toys. It gives me some of that good, mental stimulation Because I am still young & have bouncy pup tendencies, a home with kids 13+ would be best for me. I have the biggest, cutest bunny ears imaginable. I will always be here to listen to any problems you might have.  My ears don’t miss a beat. So I will be listening out to hear if your application comes through for me.  I cannot wait to meet you. Xoxo, Piper. If you are interested in Piper, please apply at https://www.nickelcitycaninerescue.org/adopt-a-dog or message the rescue if you are already pre-approved. ##1954405##

MandyFemale 1-5-2023Hound mix45lbs Potty trained Good with dogs Good with cats Great snuggler Medium energy  Good on a leash Working on crate training!  Loves lying in there all day!! Meet Mandy!  Mandy is a very sweet and snuggly lady!  She was brought up from the south in January, and loves the snow!  After she was brought up, we discovered she was pregnant! Still a puppy herself, she has spent the past 3 months raising her babies. They are all grown up and in their forever homes, and now it’s Mandy’s turn! Mandy plays great with dogs ! Loves to play fetch . Loves to snuggle on the couch Very food motivated and eager to keep learning. We have been focused on crate training and it’s going great!   Mandy’s ideal home would have a big yard and maybe a fur sibling, but she would do well alone as well. She loves her people, so only homes that want a best friend If you are interested in Mandy, please apply at https://www.nickelcitycaninerescue.org/adopt-a-dog or message the rescue if you are already pre-approved. ##1914635##

Story
PocusShepherd mix63 lbs4 years oldNeutered sweet fun spunky loyal intelligent resilient Hey, I’m Pocus! Some of you may have heard of me, I have been here for a minute now. Foster mom thought it might be a good idea to update my bio because so, so, SO much has changed for me since I arrived in Buffalo. I’d love to tell you about it if you’d like to hear! First off, in case you don’t know this about me, I was a stray who found myself in a southern shelter with a date to be put down. Then, a lovely woman saved my life and let me stay with her! I lived in one of her outdoor kennels in Texas for 2 1/2 years. You guys, it was so hot there, and I lacked the mental stimulation I crave. But it was all I knew and had, and I thank her endlessly for saving me. Cut to May 2024-I was finally chosen to come to Buffalo!!! And my, what a blessed journey it has been. When I got here, looking back, I was….a LOT, I’ll be honest. I had never been in one of these things called a house before, it was alll new to me! I had never seen stairs, or TVs..or really been handled and walked all that much. Today, I can proudly say that I am: 100% crate AND potty trained Excellent on a leash (I use a facial harness that helps me pull less) Great with other dogs-I love to play! (Just not kitties..they’re too fun to chase) Doing soo much better meeting new dogs on leash Way more trusting of new people, especially men! A pro on the tie-out in the yard A squeaky aficionado I live with three very small dogs, two are 8 lbs! I’m gentle as can be, though when I get the zoomies they take cover , but the rest of the time we are the best of buds! I’ve also met with a trainer a few times to help me learn how to be a better me. One of the things that she has taught my foster family is how to help me approach new doggie friends on leash without barking/jumping. I’ve learned it’s not so scary to meet new friends and that we can have a lot of fun! I really love playing with canine friends. My foster family has two young kids and they’re my best buddies! We play tug-of-war and cuddle, and I love getting belly rubs from them. Sometimes when they run I’ll chase them and I am learning that they don’t like to play that game. I just love to run, but I love them more, & would never, ever hurt them. They are my heart. My trainer gave tips to help with this too! I’ve learned basic commands and am super treat motivated. Foster mama says I’m wicked smart and learn things quickly. I’m so proud of myself and my foster family for truly transforming me into a different dog, for you, my new family. I hope you find me soon, I’m going to love you so hard and be your forever shadow. Love, Pocus(/Pokie/Pokes/Poke-man/The Poke-ster/Baby Pokes) If you are interested in Pocus, please apply at the adoption link in the comments below or message the rescue if you are already pre-approved. ##2045825##
