Story
We adopted Forest in late 2017. You can see in the last slide of his photos, in his story, he was rescued from the woods (or Forest) of Warren Ohio after being chained to a tree. Forest has been with me for almost a decade now and a wonderful loyal companion. He is my best friend. We have been through so much together. I is incredibly hard to have to do this, but with my new job, family, and a baby on the way, I can't give Forest the time he needs. Forest is house trained, loves chew toys, and running around the house/yard as fast as he can. He's content to lay around the house all day, in bed or the couch, or just as happy to go on walks or hikes off-leash, staying close to his companion. He is wary of strangers, especially men. He has some separation anxiety. And also deathly afraid of kids and small children and can't be around them; This may be from his history of abuse, we don't know. He is a wonderful dog, entering his senior life and just needs a new best friend.

Story
Cher is breaking our hearts as she continues to wait and we are truly hoping to find the perfect foster or foster-to-adopt home for this very special girl. Someone patient, kind, and understanding. Cher isn’t a dog who wants to bolt and run. In fact, she loves going for walks and walks beautifully and gently on a leash. It’s probably her favorite part of the day. However, when she becomes frightened, her instinct is to flee. Because of this, it’s very important that even in a fenced yard, Cher is always accompanied outside until she feels fully secure and comfortable. Cher is a black lab mix around 40-45 pounds, about 5-6 years old and would do best in a home with another confident, engaging dog to help her feel safe and settled. She is housebroken and crate trained. She has met a few cats and was indifferent toward them. Cher would do best with older children who can respect her space and allow her the time she needs to blossom. Taking in a scared dog, offering patience, love, and understanding, and watching them slowly learn to trust is one of the most rewarding experiences there is. Cher is so deserving of that chance. It’s important to note that Cher is very undersocialized. While she does not hide from people or show any aggression, she does not actively seek out human affection at this time.

Story
Remy is a sweet, gentle boy who found himself overlooked in an overcrowded county shelter. Life there was hard on him, and he’s been patiently waiting for someone to finally choose him. He’s a young adult around 50–55 lbs, dog friendly with a meet required, walks nicely on a leash, cat tested well, and absolutely loves toys, especially a good game of fetch. Remy is playful, affectionate, and happiest when he’s close to his people. He doesn’t need a perfect home, just a loving one where he can feel safe and cherished. If interested in adopting or fostering Remy, please fill out an application found at Allaboutthepawz.com Located in Youngstown, Ohio - must be within an hour from Youngstown *we do not respond to inquires or matches.
