Story
Guru is a very loving dog. He likes to cuddle and play with his toys. Guru is sensitive to large noises and becomes scared. He will be suited in a home with no children due to this. In addition, Guru does well around adults. We feel he would be better fitted in another home. Guru was born on 9/28/2022. He deserves a loving home.

Story
She is an awesome puppy and will be an awesome dog. I paid 3000 for her and a couple hundred in getting all her shots up to date. Currently going through a divorce and the wife don’t want her and I don’t have the time to properly train her. I want her to find her forever home with people that will treat her right because that’s what she deserves.

Ricki — your future little shadow! 🐶💕 Ricki is a 6-year-old, 10-lb sweetheart with a gentle personality and a heart full of love. She absolutely adores being petted and held and has all the makings of the perfect lap dog. If you're looking for a loyal companion to curl up with, Ricki may be your girl! ✨ About Ricki: • Age: 6 years • Weight: 10 lbs • Energy Level: Medium • Temperament: Very friendly, sweet, and affectionate • Favorite Activities: Running around in a fenced yard and soaking up attention • Favorite Treats: Low-calorie treats (not picky!) 🍽 Feeding: 4health Small Breed Formula Chicken — ½ cup at 8am and 4pm 💊 Monthly Prevention: Simparica Trio (given on the 1st of each month) 🐾 Training & Manners: • House trained (scratches at sliding glass door to go out) • Will use puppy pad if left alone • Crate trained • Dog friendly (needs time to warm up to medium/large dogs) • Best with kids over 6 ⚠️ Important Notes: Ricki is a runner and will look for opportunities to slip outside. She may rush through doors, so supervision and caution are very important. She would do best in a home that can gate off exits or crate her when leaving, unless she can't get to the door when you get home. 🏡 Ideal Home: Ricki’s perfect home would have: • A secure fenced-in yard (she will check fence lines) • Adults or older, mature children • A family committed to keeping her safe She sleeps happily in her own bed or cuddled up in yours. She wears a collar for tags and uses a harness for walks and car rides. Once comfortable, she does wonderfully with other dogs. Ricki is a loving little companion just waiting for the right home to keep her safe and spoiled. 💕 Could that be you? Apply at Chirp.me/LDR or https://form.jotform.com/193426050531147 Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1.5 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue. ADOPTION FEE's: Puppies under 6 months:  $199.00 Adults:  $150.00 Seniors (over 7 yrs):  $99.00 If you are interested in one of our dogs please fill out an application: https://form.jotform.com/193425528783165

Story
Name: Chico Age: 5 yrs, 11 mos (DOB 3/5/20) Weight: About 115 lbs Likes/Favorite Activities: · Belly Rubs · Treats · Meals · Being near people · ATTENTION! · Nibbling on stuffed toys · Smiling · Talking (barking) Dislikes: None Personality/Temperament: VERY fun loving and super sweet. Listens well! VERY Happy boy! Energy Level: Low-Moderate (rather typical for a dog his age) Favorite Treat(s): ANY, he isn’t picky! Eating Schedule: Twice per day (approx. 7 am & 6 pm). Eats about 2 cups of dry food at each meal He is good with our dogs and was good with our last cat. He has also been very good with the kids he has been around (kids of all ages). He is housetrained with no accidents. He goes to the door and barks if he has to go out. However, we tend to let our pups out more often than “normal” due to our other pups (not due to Chico!) Sometimes, he refuses to go out if he doesn’t have to go. Crate Trained: Never used one with him. Was never needed. Challenges: Honestly none that we have identified yet. He did show his teeth once, but that only happened when he had a baby bunny in the yard. Medical Issues: His ears tend to get dirty often and bother him. We clean them each morning and sometimes have to put drops in them (Mometazole 15g) when he seems to be shaking his head excessively. He will chew at his paws so he takes Apoquel daily for that (approx $100 monthly). He is on Simparaca Trio monthly for flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He also has had 2 surgeries - FHO and TPLO, so he does require glucosamine supplements... he also requires carpet - he does not feel safe walking on other surfaces. While we do not know much about his history prior to coming to live with his foster family (May 2025), Chico is just a very happy boy that has a great demeanor and LOVES to be petted! Literally everyone that has met him LOVES him!! Apply at chirp.me/LDR

Story
Say hello to Fozzie Bear (aka Fuzz Bucket or FB), a fuzzy half sheep, half muppet dog who’s 95 percent the sweetest boy and 5 percent a spicy little turd. Fozzie is about 8.5 years old and around 10 pounds, and we think he’s probably a Poodle mix of some kind (maybe Poodle-Shih Tzu?). He came into rescue after his owner passed away. Fozzie is mostly a typical dog who loves to go on walks and play with toys. He enjoys running around in the yard, but a home without a fenced yard wouldn’t be a deal-breaker as long as he got enough on-leash time outside. He seems to be fully house trained and hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home. What he needs more than anything is a home with patience. Fozzie’s biggest challenge is that he’s got some guarding behaviors, so he can get a little snippy under specific circumstances, like when he’s laying next to one person on the couch, and another person tries to pet him or get him off the couch. His evil twin also sometimes shows up at the groomer or the vet, and occasionally around food if other dogs enter his personal space. His little outbursts are relatively few and far between as long as he stays on his medications (fluoxetine and trazodone), and outside of the occasional tiff with the house dogs, he’s done pretty well with all of them. He desperately wants to be friends with the house Chihuahua, but she’s also a bit of a turd and so that hasn’t worked out so well for Fozzie. She’s toothless and still manages to boss him around somehow. Despite his imperfections, Fozzie is a wonderful little dog with a ton of love to give. Here’s what we think he needs in a new home to be successful: - An adult-only home. We think children won’t have the maturity to understand that dogs are allowed to have boundaries, too. - A home where someone is around most of the time. Fozzie can be an insecure little fella, and being alone too long stresses him out. He’s never been destructive in any way, even with run of the house, but he’s not the kind of dog who would be happy or comfortable being home alone for 8 or 10 hours several days a week. - A home with dog experience that is willing to work with and around his quirks. Fozzie and his previous owner worked very successfully with a trainer, so he’s definitely trainable. His foster mom and dad have found him totally manageable! - A home without other dogs OR with other dogs his size. We could see his mouth writing checks his butt can’t cash with larger dogs. If there are other dogs in the home, intros should be slow, and ideally, he could be kept somewhere separate while the humans are away just in case. If you love cute, curly little dogs and are ready for the most rewarding challenge ever, Fozzie Bear is your man! ———————————————————- The adoption donation for Fozzie Bear is $250. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate). If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Mahoning County/Columbiana County, Ohio area for a meet and greet. All of our dogs reside in foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter. Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. If you live in a residence with a Homeowner’s Association (HOA) please make sure you check that the dog you are interested in does not violate size or breed restrictions. A successful adoption is our goal. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of any dog. We require you call your established veterinarian asap to schedule a wellness visit. —————————- Our applications can be found by clicking on the “adoption application” link at https://apaprescue.com Our primary form of communication is email. Don’t waste your time clicking on it!
