They came to the pound as strays, and staff quickly noticed they did much better when housed together. Because of that, they may be bonded and are happiest side by side. Cagney is 18 lbs and Lacey is 16 lbs. They look like mini boxers. Both girls have been friendly with every human they’ve met so far. While they haven’t had direct exposure to children yet, they show very good potential with proper introductions. They also appear to have good potential with other dogs. Cagney and Lacey are still learning the basics of home life. They’re eager, attentive, and listen well when redirected, but they do need reminders—especially when it comes to jumping up to say hello. They are also learning proper leash manners and will benefit from continued consistency. A fenced yard would be ideal so these happy, energetic girls can run and play together. They are long legged little girls and will need a 4' or higher fence. If you’re looking for two affectionate, fun-loving companions who already support and comfort one another, Cagney and Lacey might be the perfect addition to your family. *** BONDED PAIR; EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMALS ** 'Lil' (aka 'Lillian') and 'Phil' (aka 'Phillip') are 2 of the most wonderful, affectionate, sweet and joyful pooches we have ever known. Lil is a 6.5 yr. old, 65-70 lb. fawn brindle Staffordshire terrier female and Phil is a 6 yr old, 80-85 lb. Staffordshire terrier/curly coated/Chesapeake Bay retriever mix male. They are the best of friends and make a tremendous duo. They are affectionate, kind, gentle, loving cuddle bugs with a silly, playful side. Incredibly eager to please, obedient, loyal and attentive. They are like sunshine on a rainy day; you simply cannot be in a sad mood around them. Words cannot justify how truly wonderful they are; people adore them when they meet their sweet, kind natures. All they want to do is to love and be loved. One of the greatest duos we've ever known, each being super special in their own right but combined they are magic. They compliment each other so well, being each other's anchor and best friend, they deserve to continue to live together and spread their combined joy. Lil is spayed; Phil is is neutered. Both dogs are fully vaccinated, de-wormed, have been on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not do it's own 'shots' ... all medical care is done by a licensed, certified Veterinarian or done under their direct supervision (ex., monthly heartworm treatments &/or deworming). All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., probiotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition. I am a big goofy gentle giant of 6 years and 102 pounds, I came into Roses Rescue because my original family, although they loved me, couldn't care for me anymore. I am allergic to poultry and corn - they give me ear infections. So I have been put on a food where salmon is the main protein. It is delicious!!! I have been getting a squirt of salmon oil on my food, too, It is going to help my coat get soft and shiny.. My two favorite things in the world are being around people and playing fetch. I will bring my toy to you and drop it at your feet for you to throw again and again and again. I an not at all fond of cats, but I get along great with other dogs. Right now my best pal is a little Frenchie. We run around the back yard together. I love playing with kids, too, but, because of my size they need to be older kids. I don't want to accidentally knock anyone over. I need a fenced in yard because that is what I am used to. I do not have a lot of experience on a leash or getting in and out of a car. I am crate trained and potty trained. Do you have room in your heart and home for this big ol' lover boy? I have lots of room in my heart for YOU. I am truly a gentle giant. Lets meet! *** BREED EXPERIENCED OWNERS ONLY, PLEASE *** 'NASH' is a handsome, 3 yr. old, 75 lb. German/Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix male, that has 'double dew claws' on his back legs. Nash is a big couch potato and a silly boy. Nash knows basic commands: sit, wait, break (release), come and shake, and he will gladly practice each for a treat or a meal. Nash is a sweet, smart, affectionate and obedient boy, but initially leery of strangers. On leash, without distractions, he is a good boy and a pleasure to walk. Nash likes to play fetch and loves his treats, both which are great ways to win him over, make him more comfortable, and begin bonding. Nash warms to you and loves being petted, sitting next to you, and just basically 'hanging out'. Nash's optimal home would be a quiet, low stimulation one with a confident, calm, breed-experienced owner willing to help him build confidence as he matures and knows how to positively direct and mitigate/manage the breed characteristic traits of guard dogs through exercise, training and positive reinforcement techniques. (He is both highly food motivated as well as praise driven). A home with high energy, volume or traffic would not suit Nash, so children would not a good fit with him. Nash loves other dogs, especially playful females. Through a fence he may bark, but then run alongside with others. He has a strong prey drive and is territorial, so he needs a fenced in yard. Nash is neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, on monthly heart-worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. My parents were an English Bulldog and the other a Staffordshire terrier. I get along great with children, dogs, and cats. I am housebroken. I don't really enjoy being crated. I would prefer someone that is going to be home often-so only 4 hours alone. Although, I am potty trained and can stay alone for about 9 hours or so. I do have mild epilepsy, which is controlled by Kepra and gabapentin. I have not had an episode, since I have taken these medications together. They are not expensive as well, so that's good. I am allergic to chicken also. I totally vetted with neuter, shots, chip and heart worm test. My positives are, I am a great snuggler. I just want to be your Velcro dog. I don't require a lot of walks, my little legs don't like it much. When I walk/run people say I look so cute. People even drop their jaws when they see me. I didn't have a stable start at life, so can you please help me and give me a loving forever home. I will love you to the moon and back.
