Story
Tucker is an almost 3 year old (DOB 6.30.23)male Havanese (or mix, we can’t be sure that his “breeder” was sure but we are going with it!) who is cute no matter WHAT his potentially varied background is! He weighs in at about 13 1/2 pounds and is full grown! Tucker, while a very good and sweet young man, also has a bit of a chip on his shoulder when it comes to other dogs - most especially those that DARE to be larger than he is. In fact, it’s why he finds himself in need of a new home. He just wouldn’t play nice with the older larger dog in the home. We aren’t sure how he would deal with someone his own size, but likely he is going to do best as an only dog. He has been around kids and so long as they’re respectful, he’s good to go, but would do better in an adult home that is a little less busy than a home with kids. Tucker is house trained, crate trained, and does very well at the groomer - there have been no complaints at all! He can be a little shy and slightly whiney in new situations, and due to this, a low key quieter household will be perfect - he’s just not that into parties! More of a down to earth quiet nights at home type of guy. He does, however, walk well on a leash, and enjoys a stroll whenever he can get one. Remember, he’s not a couch potato - he’s young and active and will need playtime and exercise. He is good in the car and would probably be a pretty good travel companion. He has never been left loose in the house when all the human people are gone, so a crate is definitely recommended since it’s his safe spot. If you think this little chocolate and white kiddo is right for you, we are currently accepting applications from all interested parties. Story
Kira hasn`t had the easiest time of it - she was adopted from AFA in 2021, only to be returned three years later when her family brought home another dog and the two did not get along. Here she sits, still waiting. Kira is a 8 year old female Pit Bull Terrier mix who is sweet as can be with all people, and has the energy and joy of an adolescent - just with better manners! From all we were told, this girl had NO bad habits at her first home - her only fault was a desire to be the one and only Queen of the Castle. Kira will need a canine and feline free home. Believe us when we tell you that her personality is big enough to make you forget about even having any other pets! She is ALL you need! She`s PERFECTION! Don`t be fooled by her age - this girl LOVES to play almost as much as she loves to settle in and cuddle when playtime is over. Equal parts good time girl and couch potato. She`s the whole package! Kira seems to do fine with kids (meet and greet would be required), men, women - all humans. She walks well on a leash (she might pull initially from excitement, but she settles right in), rides well in the car, and has great house manners. We do believe she is house trained as well as crate trained from her previous placements.

Story
INTAKE DATE: 3/13/24 TRANSFER FROM MAHONING COUNTY POUNDCURRENT WEIGHT: 62 LBSDon`t be deceived by the plain brown wrapper - Jimmy is just bursting with potential, energy and the joy of just being alive! Jimmy is a 2 1/2 year old male Pit Bull Terrier mix who currently weighs in at about 65 pounds. We would never say that Jimmy is chubby, but....maybe a little fluffy? He is an athletic boy who has the smarts and just needs and experienced dog owner to help him reach his potential. He is very toy and food driven, and would benefit greatly from a home where someone takes those drives and uses them to help Jimmy be all he can be. Obedience classes are going to be a must for this kid - he hasn`t ever had the chance to have someone seriously spend time with him and help him learn how to be the best boy. Jimmy has been at Angels for nearly 18 months - a little more than half of his life. He would do best in an adult only, single animal home.

Story
The ultimate in a rags to riches story - or it will be as soon as this boy finds his forever home. Meet Rocket! He is an approximately 7 year old male Maltese/Bichon mix, who weighs in at approximately 9.2 pounds. Rocket was brought to Angels by a Good Samaritan as a stray who was as dirty as can be and matted to the skin(see comments for before photo). She had found him sitting in the rain on the side of the road. It was obvious to all that nobody had cared for this boy in awhile, but when 10 days passed without a peep from anyone, we knew for sure. We just can’t figure out Why?!!?!Besides being tiny and adorable, Rocket has one of the most amazing temperaments we’ve ever seen. Talk about good natured and going with the flow! Do you think he complained about getting that huge hair cut? Nope! Not once. We know it wasn’t comfortable for him but he didn’t complain not even ONCE! We don’t know much about Rocket’s past - at some point someone helped him to become the kind and delightful boy he is today, we just don’t know what happened in between then and now. We think he would do well in a home with just about anyone. Due to his size, we do require a home with kids who are 8 and up. He could probably be fine with one or more dogs in the home, but a meet and greet with any resident canines would be required. Cats shouldn’t be a problem, most of them are bigger than he is anyway! We do not know if he is house trained (he does seem to be pee pad trained to some extent) but this boy is smart enough to get the whole going outside thing very quickly! He seems to be pretty well crate trained, and rides well in the car. This little dude is a GEM! His huge personality, joy for life and sweet demeanor along with all the tiny kisses he gives, will melt your heart. If you are interested in Rocket, we are currently accepting applications. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Goose is a happy approximately 16-month-old Labrador Retriever/Bully mix who is in search of an active home with someone who is willing to continue his training, get him plenty of exercise, and just to have fun and snuggle with!  Goose is house trained, has been good with kids in the home (kids over 10 are preferred due to his bouncy nature) and knows sit and shake hands.  He was adopted to a very loving home over Christmas, but while they loved him dearly, he and the cats of the house, did NOT love each other in the same way.  A feline free home is a must.  He seems to like other dogs (especially girls), though a meet and greet would be required.  He has been left from 4-8 hours loose in the home without any incidents at all, which is outstanding!  Loves his people, loves attention, loves life!  That`s Goose!

Story
Vinnie is a 7 year old male Sheltie/Miniature Australian Shepherd. He currently weighs in at approximately 34 pounds, but he could absolutely stand to lose several pounds (lets say around 30 might be perfect for him). Nope, that definitely isn`t just fluff, its substance! Vinny is an amazingly good boy - everything anyone could want plus stunning good looks. He is good with kids, cats (indoors) and most other dogs (we should say, POLITE dogs!). A meet and greet would be required with any resident canines in the home prior to placement. He can be particular about who is coveting his dinner, so feeding in a crate where he can have some privacy would be ideal if there are other canines about. Vinny is an active boy who is always up for adventure, but has a definite off switch and is content to cuddle up when the time comes. He loves to walk, is great on a leash, and is looking for a home with people who are active and ready to help him shed a couple pounds and stay happy and healthy. Please keep in mind that he is comprised of two very athletic and active breeds - if you want a total couch potato, this isn`t the one. If you want active but not hyper - he`s your dude. Vinny is crate trained, house trained, and knows how to sit, shake hands, and lay down. He has been left loose in the home during the work day and has shown no destructive behaviors whatsoever. He loves to play, loves toys, but most dearly loves a good game of tug! Nothing really scares him much - maybe an EXTRA violent thunderstorm, but run of the mill storms? He doesn`t even notice. He is used to sleeping the night away on his very own dog bed, and isn`t terribly vocal despite his breed mix!
