Story
This petite blue eyed lady is Luna! Luna is a 4 year old female Siberian Husky who is in need of an active home with a family that will love her until the end of her days! Luna weighs in at about 41 pounds currently - just a perfect girlie husky size!Luna is house trained (remember, it may take a little while for her to learn her new place, new rules, new people! Accidents happen!), crate trained, great with kids (even small ones), great with other dogs (has lived with her brother and a few others as well) and has manners in the house...usually...mostly...huskies can sometimes have their own version of manners but for the most part, this girl exceeds expectations. Luna can be a little shy initially - she is less outgoing than her brother Rufus, but just needs a little time and individual attention to shine like a diamond. She just lacks a little confidence - but this smart lovely girl is going to blossom with the right forever home.Luna is an active happy husky more than anything else. She is NOT a couch potato. Breed experience is definitely a plus when it comes to Sibes, but she is most certainly not a `first dog` kinda girl. Dog experience of any sort will be given preference. She needs a new person (or people) who are all in on making sure that she has all she needs to thrive. This means lots of walks and hikes, maybe some adventures in general! She would be best with a securely fenced in yard, with the understanding that she won`t really exercise herself - she needs her people to help her out with that both mentally and physically! Luna ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT EXCEPTION WILL NOT BE PLACED WITH CATS. This means both indoor and outdoor. She has proven that cats are just too much for her to tolerate, and we will not see her put in that position - so a dedicated to be cat free home is a necessity.

Story
INTAKE DATE: 3/13/24 TRANSFER FROM MAHONING COUNTY POUNDCURRENT WEIGHT: 62 LBSDon`t be deceived by the plain brown wrapper - Jimmy is just bursting with potential, energy and the joy of just being alive! Jimmy is a 2 1/2 year old male Pit Bull Terrier mix who currently weighs in at about 65 pounds. We would never say that Jimmy is chubby, but....maybe a little fluffy? He is an athletic boy who has the smarts and just needs and experienced dog owner to help him reach his potential. He is very toy and food driven, and would benefit greatly from a home where someone takes those drives and uses them to help Jimmy be all he can be. Obedience classes are going to be a must for this kid - he hasn`t ever had the chance to have someone seriously spend time with him and help him learn how to be the best boy. Jimmy has been at Angels for nearly 18 months - a little more than half of his life. He would do best in an adult only, single animal home.

Story
Goose is a happy approximately 16-month-old Labrador Retriever/Bully mix who is in search of an active home with someone who is willing to continue his training, get him plenty of exercise, and just to have fun and snuggle with!  Goose is house trained, has been good with kids in the home (kids over 10 are preferred due to his bouncy nature) and knows sit and shake hands.  He was adopted to a very loving home over Christmas, but while they loved him dearly, he and the cats of the house, did NOT love each other in the same way.  A feline free home is a must.  He seems to like other dogs (especially girls), though a meet and greet would be required.  He has been left from 4-8 hours loose in the home without any incidents at all, which is outstanding!  Loves his people, loves attention, loves life!  That`s Goose!

Story
Biggie is a good dog. He just has a little too much energy and can be kennel aggressive and reactive at times. He needs a good home where he can be the only pet and someone who has time to work with him. He can be aggressive to other dogs at times and can be extremely friendly with them at other times. Unfortunately having three children he is too much to handle in a small household with limited property. For the most part he is house broken but can slip up and have accidents when he is excited.

Story
Say hello to Fozzie Bear (aka Fuzz Bucket or FB), a fuzzy half sheep, half muppet dog who’s 95 percent the sweetest boy and 5 percent a spicy little turd. Fozzie is about 8.5 years old and around 10 pounds, and we think he’s probably a Poodle mix of some kind (maybe Poodle-Shih Tzu?). He came into rescue after his owner passed away. Fozzie is mostly a typical dog who loves to go on walks and play with toys. He enjoys running around in the yard, but a home without a fenced yard wouldn’t be a deal-breaker as long as he got enough on-leash time outside. He seems to be fully house trained and hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home. What he needs more than anything is a home with patience. Fozzie’s biggest challenge is that he’s got some guarding behaviors, so he can get a little snippy under specific circumstances, like when he’s laying next to one person on the couch, and another person tries to pet him or get him off the couch. His evil twin also sometimes shows up at the groomer or the vet, and occasionally around food if other dogs enter his personal space. His little outbursts are relatively few and far between as long as he stays on his medications (fluoxetine and trazodone), and outside of the occasional tiff with the house dogs, he’s done pretty well with all of them. He desperately wants to be friends with the house Chihuahua, but she’s also a bit of a turd and so that hasn’t worked out so well for Fozzie. She’s toothless and still manages to boss him around somehow. Despite his imperfections, Fozzie is a wonderful little dog with a ton of love to give. Here’s what we think he needs in a new home to be successful: - An adult-only home. We think children won’t have the maturity to understand that dogs are allowed to have boundaries, too. - A home where someone is around most of the time. Fozzie can be an insecure little fella, and being alone too long stresses him out. He’s never been destructive in any way, even with run of the house, but he’s not the kind of dog who would be happy or comfortable being home alone for 8 or 10 hours several days a week. - A home with dog experience that is willing to work with and around his quirks. Fozzie and his previous owner worked very successfully with a trainer, so he’s definitely trainable. His foster mom and dad have found him totally manageable! - A home without other dogs OR with other dogs his size. We could see his mouth writing checks his butt can’t cash with larger dogs. If there are other dogs in the home, intros should be slow, and ideally, he could be kept somewhere separate while the humans are away just in case. If you love cute, curly little dogs and are ready for the most rewarding challenge ever, Fozzie Bear is your man! ———————————————————- The adoption donation for Fozzie Bear is $250. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate). If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Mahoning County/Columbiana County, Ohio area for a meet and greet. All of our dogs reside in foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter. Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. If you live in a residence with a Homeowner’s Association (HOA) please make sure you check that the dog you are interested in does not violate size or breed restrictions. A successful adoption is our goal. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of any dog. We require you call your established veterinarian asap to schedule a wellness visit. —————————- Our applications can be found by clicking on the “adoption application” link at https://apaprescue.com Our primary form of communication is email.
