Story
this is winifred “freddy”. she is a sweet and energetic puppy, stubborn but eager to please & she loves food. shes been such a ray of sunshine but unfortunately i cant meet her needs right now. i want her to have a quality life and someone who can give that to her. she is good with cats and children, she just gets very hyper. shes about 3months old. she is trained to go on her pee pads, shes decent outside. im willing to negotiate the price, i just need to know she is going to good people who preferably have experience with dogs & large breeds.

Story
Say hello to Fozzie Bear (aka Fuzz Bucket or FB), a fuzzy half sheep, half muppet dog who’s 95 percent the sweetest boy and 5 percent a spicy little turd. Fozzie is about 8.5 years old and around 10 pounds, and we think he’s probably a Poodle mix of some kind (maybe Poodle-Shih Tzu?). He came into rescue after his owner passed away. Fozzie is mostly a typical dog who loves to go on walks and play with toys. He enjoys running around in the yard, but a home without a fenced yard wouldn’t be a deal-breaker as long as he got enough on-leash time outside. He seems to be fully house trained and hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home. What he needs more than anything is a home with patience. Fozzie’s biggest challenge is that he’s got some guarding behaviors, so he can get a little snippy under specific circumstances, like when he’s laying next to one person on the couch, and another person tries to pet him or get him off the couch. His evil twin also sometimes shows up at the groomer or the vet, and occasionally around food if other dogs enter his personal space. His little outbursts are relatively few and far between as long as he stays on his medications (fluoxetine and trazodone), and outside of the occasional tiff with the house dogs, he’s done pretty well with all of them. He desperately wants to be friends with the house Chihuahua, but she’s also a bit of a turd and so that hasn’t worked out so well for Fozzie. She’s toothless and still manages to boss him around somehow. Despite his imperfections, Fozzie is a wonderful little dog with a ton of love to give. Here’s what we think he needs in a new home to be successful: - An adult-only home. We think children won’t have the maturity to understand that dogs are allowed to have boundaries, too. - A home where someone is around most of the time. Fozzie can be an insecure little fella, and being alone too long stresses him out. He’s never been destructive in any way, even with run of the house, but he’s not the kind of dog who would be happy or comfortable being home alone for 8 or 10 hours several days a week. - A home with dog experience that is willing to work with and around his quirks. Fozzie and his previous owner worked very successfully with a trainer, so he’s definitely trainable. His foster mom and dad have found him totally manageable! - A home without other dogs OR with other dogs his size. We could see his mouth writing checks his butt can’t cash with larger dogs. If there are other dogs in the home, intros should be slow, and ideally, he could be kept somewhere separate while the humans are away just in case. If you love cute, curly little dogs and are ready for the most rewarding challenge ever, Fozzie Bear is your man! ———————————————————- The adoption donation for Fozzie Bear is $250. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate). If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Mahoning County/Columbiana County, Ohio area for a meet and greet. All of our dogs reside in foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter. Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. If you live in a residence with a Homeowner’s Association (HOA) please make sure you check that the dog you are interested in does not violate size or breed restrictions. A successful adoption is our goal. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of any dog. We require you call your established veterinarian asap to schedule a wellness visit. —————————- Our applications can be found by clicking on the “adoption application” link at https://apaprescue.com Our primary form of communication is email. Story
Meet baby Eloise! This sweet girl found herself at an overly full pound, so we knew we had to take her in! She is very young, most likely right around 8 weeks old. We are unsure of her breed, or how big she will get. We will have a better idea the older she gets! (The older she gets the more her coat is looking slightly brindle) What we do know is she is the best snuggler, and she loves to play! She'd love a fur friend that loves to play and snuggle! She is 100% puppy, which means she's learning the world with her mouth. Those little puppy nibbles come with the package, so she'd do best in a home with older kids who can help her learn good manners as she grows. You can apply for Eloise by going to our website: everydogmattersrescue.org. Located in Youngstown, Ohio.

Story
Meet Whitman, a big-hearted German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a seriously charming personality. At 7 years old and 90 pounds, Whitman is the kind of dog who feels like an old friend almost instantly. He is playful, loving, calm, and just the right amount of goofy. He has that wonderful mix of youthful spirit and mature wisdom that makes senior shepherds so special. Whitman loves people. Truly loves them. Men, women, kids ages 5 and up, he has done beautifully with everyone he has met. His favorite way to show affection is leaning into you, resting his head against your leg, or politely offering his paw when he wants attention. He enjoys laying near you and will occasionally snuggle, but he is not the kind of dog who needs to be on top of you. He just wants to be close. He will happily follow his person everywhere, moving at your pace and sticking by your side like he was trained for it. He has some endearing quirks that make him unforgettable. When he is excited to go outside or eat, he prances and bounces like a much younger dog. When he settles onto his bed, he sometimes lets out the biggest sigh that honestly sounds like a cow mooing. He is very vocal about his needs and will bark and hop around if he needs water or a potty break, making sure you never miss the memo. Whitman is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands like sit, lay down, and leave it. He walks decently on a leash and would benefit from a little more practice, but he is respectful and manageable. He does need to be crated when left alone, as he has a mischievous streak when unsupervised and may help himself to shoes or the trash. At night, he prefers to sleep in the same room as his people and does just fine out of the crate. He has lived peacefully with a cat and showed playful curiosity rather than aggression, though his enthusiasm may be a bit much for older cats. With other dogs, he appears selective, so a meet and greet would be important. He may also do perfectly well as an only dog. Whitman enjoys bananas, peanut butter, stuffed toys, belly rubs, chin scratches, brushing sessions, and playing in the snow with his person. He loves being brushed, which is helpful because he is a heavy shedder. He is not a fan of loud noises or car rides, though open windows help. He does well with baths, whether at home or professionally. Whitman has a few manageable medical needs including arthritis, allergies, and a mild heart rhythm irregularity, all of which are currently well controlled with medication. He takes daily meds like a champ, though he is adorably picky enough to sometimes chew his pill pockets and spit them out before deciding to try again. Despite everything he has been through, Whitman has blossomed into a confident, loving dog who clearly appreciates safety and kindness. He may flinch if startled or if voices are raised, suggesting a rough past, but with calm handling he is trusting, gentle, and eager to please. Whitman would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs, enjoy fresh air, and then come inside for long naps on his dog bed. He would do well in many family dynamics as long as children are respectful. He does not need constant attention, but he loves knowing his people are nearby. Goofy, gentle, and intelligent, Whitman is the kind of dog who makes your house feel like home. If you are looking for a loyal companion with a young heart and an old soul, Whitman may be the one you have been waiting for ———————————————————- The adoption donation for Whitman is $250.
