Story
Maggie and Sophie are two gentle, loving hound sisters looking for a fresh start in a forever home. These girls are full of kindness and charm, always excited to greet new faces with wagging tails and open hearts. Like true hounds, Maggie and Sophie love to “talk”! They have the classic hound “hoo” that adds so much personality to their days. It’s their way of joining the conversation and letting you know just how happy they are. While they are not a bonded pair, we would love nothing more than to see them spend their golden years side by side. They’ve spent much of their past together, outdoors on chains. Since coming into our care, they’ve embraced their new routine with ease and joy. Watching them adjust so quickly and happily has been truly heartwarming.Maggie and Sophie must go to a cat-free home where they can continue to thrive. While they are not considered a bonded pair, we would love for them to spend the rest of their golden years together. They share a special sisterly connection, and keeping them united would be a dream come true. However, we are open to placing them separately if the right homes come along. If you’re looking for loving companions to brighten your days, Maggie and Sophie could be the perfect match. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
Meet Raymond — Still the King of Chill 👑☀️Raymond is an almost 11-year-old gentleman who was found as a stray, leaving his past a bit of a mystery. What we do know is this: Raymond has fully embraced the art of taking life slow and savoring the simple joys—preferably from a warm, sunny spot.A true senior soul, Raymond appreciates the little things: a cozy place to lounge, leisurely strolls, and a good scratch behind the ears. Rainy days aren’t his favorite (they interfere with his sunbathing schedule), and he prefers to be the only animal in his kingdom. While he’s not much for cuddling, he truly enjoys being petted and treated with the respect a king deserves.Raymond has been in our care for 304 days and counting, patiently waiting for his forever home. Despite the time that’s passed, he remains sweet, mellow, and quietly hopeful that someone will see him for the gentle companion he is.Please note: Raymond does have daily medications that will need to be continued—but he takes them like a champ. If your perfect day includes soaking up the sunshine with a calm, loyal companion by your side, Raymond is ready to rule your heart—one sunbeam at a time. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
George was rudely left behind in a house (his villain origin story), but instead of becoming a tiny supervillain, he chose love. Iconic, honestly. Now he’s on the hunt for a forever home where “left behind” is not in the vocabulary. This boy is offensively sweet. The kind of sweet that melts into your arms like he was personally designed to be held. Personal space? Never heard of it. George’s life goals include being as close to his human as physically possible and collecting unlimited cuddles. He’s done well with both dogs and cats, so he’s totally open to having a full squad at home. More friends? Yes, please.George does currently pee submissively — which is just his very dramatic way of saying, “You’re amazing and I respect you so much!!!” It’s common in puppies and should improve as he grows and realizes he is, in fact, a brave and powerful little king.If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to love you like it’s his full-time job, George is ready to clock in. 💛🐾Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
Wib is a gentle, loving dog who came to us with little experience in the outside world. While he’s still learning to navigate new sights, sounds, and experiences, he’s showing small, heartwarming signs of bravery every day.Wib has learned to build some trust with the staff here at PAWS, but he’ll need a patient, understanding home where he can take things at his own pace. With gentle guidance, reassurance, and plenty of love, he has the potential to blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion who will cherish every moment with his family. He is goofy, talkative, curious, and CUTE! If you have the heart to move slowly, celebrate the little victories, and show a shy soul the meaning of safety and love, Wib could be your perfect match. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
Smudge has made wonderful progress in foster care. When he first left the shelter, car rides were stressful, but now he loves riding in the truck and happily responds to “load up.” He knows several commands including sit, stay, wait, down, crate, up, and off, and is doing well with recall. He also understands potty cues like “go pee” and waits politely at doors until given permission to go in or out.Smudge is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night. He’s a low-energy, couch-loving boy who enjoys being close to his person—often curled up beside (or under a blanket!). He’s a true “Velcro dog” who thrives on human affection and companionship. He no longer jumps on people, is eager to learn, and picks up new skills quickly. Smudge is a gentle, loving dog who will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org
