Story
If you’ve ever wished for a dog who’s equal parts brains, beauty, and big-hearted love - say hello to ALPINE!Alpine is a 1.5-year-old girl with a truly unique mix: German Shepherd Dog (28.6%), Mastiff (24.3%), Supermutt (20.9%), Rottweiler (14.8%), and Border Collie (11.4%). Despite all that impressive math, she is 100% GOOD GIRL!This sweet girl is incredibly affectionate and thrives on human connection once she feels comfortable! She’s the kind of dog who wants to be near her people, soaking up love and giving it right back with happy wiggles and soulful looks. Alpine is also super smart - she picks things up quickly and would absolutely shine with continued training and enrichment. She is currently working on building her confidence when meeting new people, as she can take a little extra time to warm up to strangers, especially men.Her favorite thing in the entire world? STUFFIES. Alpine is absolutely obsessed with stuffed toys and carries them around proudly like prized possessions. Toss one for her, let her parade it around, or give her a basket to choose from, and she’ll be in heaven! Because of her energy level and playful personality, Alpine will do best in an active home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of engagement.Alpine is currently in foster care with Unleashed Manners, where she’ll be working on basic manners such as leash walking, managing jumpiness, and continuing to build her confidence. While in foster care, we’ll also be learning even more about what Alpine will need to thrive in her forever home so we can help make the best possible match for her future family. Alpine came to WCAS as a stray, so we don’t know much about her past - what we do know is that she prefers to be the ONLY pet in the home!Alpine is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and current on flea/tick & heartworm preventatives - all ready to go home!If you’re ready for a devoted companion with a playful spirit and a heart of gold, Alpine is ready to meet you! Imagine coming home to THIS face every day! The personality? 10/10. The zoomies? Olympic level.Meet MILO, a 2-year-old medium mixed breed with a personality that is truly impossible not to love. This sweet boy is the total package: affectionate, hilarious, playful, and always ready to make you smile. If you’re looking for a dog that brings joy and laughter everywhere he goes… Milo is absolutely your guy!One of Milo’s favorite things in the world is getting the zoomies! Whether he’s sprinting around the yard, tossing toys in the air, or doing his goofy little happy dances, Milo knows how to have FUN!! But once he’s burned off some energy? He turns right back into a sweet cuddle bug who just wants to hang out with his people. Milo has such a kind, happy-go-lucky personality and truly seems to love everyone he meets. He’s the type of dog who makes ordinary days better just by being around. His goofy antics, loving nature, and endlessly wagging tail make him an easy dog to fall in love with!Milo has done very well in dog playgroups at WCAS suggesting he may do well in a home with other animals as long as proper, slow introductions are performed! He is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and current on flea/tick & heartworm preventatives.Seriously… Milo is SUCH a great dog, and he’s more than ready to find a forever family to call his own. Story
Ready to be dazzled? ZORRO is here to steal hearts - and maybe your socks, too! This 3-year-old American Bulldog mix is 60 pounds of love, personality, and just the right amount of chaos. She`s goofy, incredibly affectionate, and always ready to make you laugh! Zorro was adopted from WCAS last winter but was recently returned through absolutely no fault of her own. The reality is that Zorro isn`t a couch potato, and she isn`t the type of dog who can be expected to `just know` how to behave forever without continued structure and training. Like any young, intelligent dog, she thrives when her mind and body are kept active!Zorro is a lot of dog!!She has an excellent foundation of manners and knows exactly what`s expected of her. However, she`s incredibly smart and likes to `test the waters` with new people, often acting like she`s forgotten everything she`s learned just to see what she can get away with. She needs a confident, consistent adopter who will continue reinforcing the training she already has!An active lifestyle is a must!! Zorro would love hiking, camping, long walks, training, or any adventure that keeps both her mind and body engaged. She`s highly trainable, eager to learn, and would make an incredible adventure partner for someone looking for a dog that can truly do it all.Zorro is very social with other dogs and may enjoy a canine companion with proper introductions. She can NOT live with cats, and a securely fenced yard is required! Zorro is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and current on flea/tick & heartworm preventatives. To help set her future family up for success, Zorro`s adoption (along with all other dogs) includes four FREE training sessions with Ryan Mueller, trainer and owner of Unleashed Manners. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to build a strong relationship with Zorro and learn how to help her be the very best version of herself! If you`re looking for a loyal best friend who`s equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle bug, Zorro just might be your perfect match! Please fill out an adoption application on our website - for any additional information or questions, please contact the shelter at wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com or (920) 279-9795.

Story
Meet Agnes! Agnes is the cutest little ball of energy and love! She’s loved everyone she’s met and is always ready to make a new friend. She can be a little jumpy when she’s excited, so she’ll need some continued manners practice—but remember, she’s still just a puppy! Agnes is ready to be your sidekick for whatever adventure you choose. - 11 months old (estimated), 20 lbs - Social butterfly and energetic gal - Enjoys playing and toys - Knows “sit” and takes treats nicely - Loves walks and does well on a harness - Previously lived with a senior dog but was returned because she was too much for her older canine companion. She met a large, energetic dog here and did well! They were unable to play together because the other dog is recovering from surgery. - Unknown history with cats - Unknown history with children; we recommend children 8+ due to her need for continued manners work - Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped -Agnes’ adoption fee is $210 including tax. House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Duke is a goofy, lovable, affectionate boy. He will sit in your lap if you let him! He just loves being by people and being a part of what ever is going on. Duke needs some time to get comfortable with people but once you're in the "Duke club" you're a friend for life! Because of his initial stranger anxiety we think he would love a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going. Staff at OAHS will teach any adopter how to do a slow introduction with new people in Duke's life so everyone is comfortable. More about sweet Duke: - 3 years old, 70 pounds - Very treat motivated and willing to learn. -Suggested for children age teen years and up due to his size and energy level -Would do best in a structured, quiet home. - Smart boy! He already knows sit, down and shake and does well with corrections. -Duke was most likely not socialized with dogs in his puppyhood and therefore is unsure and nervous around them. He should be the only dog in the home and any dog introductions outside the home should be done slowly with professional assistance. -Not suggested for home with cats due to focus and chasing cat in last home -Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped Please note dog visits are by appointment to ensure staff and space availability so we can make the best match possible. Interested in meeting this dog? The first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website at: https://www.oahs.org/dog-adoption-process/ . Questions? E-mail dog@oahs.org or call (920) 424-2128 ext 108.
