Story
My Daughters boyfriend found him in Milwaukee around Nov 2025 . He brought him to fond du lac against my daughter wishes and she was pregnant with her third child and does not have room for a dog. She is an animal lover but he is too big for her little house. Since they did not turn him in as a stray to the Milwaukee Humane Society right away. Scooby is now theirs. We did check Milwaukee Humane Society if any one was looking for him. No one was. He is not chipped. The boyfriend did bring him to the vet and got shot. He is about 1yr and a half. Scooby is a very good boy. Strong young man . I have him at my house but he does not like cats. My cats are not happy. He cases them. He is very friendly and love being around me. He does not run away when I let him out with out a lease. He loves to play and Ice cubes. He is so cute when he plays with them.

Story
If you’ve ever wished for a dog who’s equal parts brains, beauty, and big-hearted love - say hello to ALPINE!Alpine is a 1.5-year-old girl with a truly unique mix: German Shepherd Dog (28.6%), Mastiff (24.3%), Supermutt (20.9%), Rottweiler (14.8%), and Border Collie (11.4%). Despite all that impressive math, she is 100% GOOD GIRL!This sweet girl is incredibly affectionate and thrives on human connection. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be near her people, soaking up love and giving it right back with happy wiggles and soulful looks. Alpine is also super smart - she picks things up quickly and would absolutely shine with continued training and enrichment! Her favorite activity in the entire world? FETCH. Alpine loves loves LOVES chasing a ball and would happily trade just about anything for a game of fetch with her favorite human - any day, any time. She’ll play again… and again… and again. Because of her energy level and love for interactive play, Alpine will do best in an active home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of time for play and engagement!Alpine came to WCAS as a stray, so we don’t know much about her past. What we do know is that she prefers her canine friends to be well-socialized and respectful. Because Alpine can be selective with other dogs, a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs will be required prior to adoption.Alpine is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and current on flea/tick & heartworm preventatives - all ready to go home!If you’re ready for a devoted companion with a playful spirit and a heart of gold, Alpine is ready to meet you! Please fill out an adoption application on our website - for any additional information or questions, please contact the shelter at wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com or (920) 279-9795.

*NOTICE - BREED EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERED*Rufus will thrive in a home that truly understands the Eskie way - someone patient, consistent, and appreciative of his intelligence, sensitivity, and spirited personality. Ideal adopters are those with prior American Eskimo experience. If you’re not already familiar with the breed, we strongly encourage doing some research to ensure Rufus’ needs and quirks are a great match for your home. Rufus would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home.Do you appreciate a dog with opinions - and the confidence to share them? Meet RUFUS!With his snowy white coat, expressive eyes, and a personality as big as his fluff, Rufus is impossible not to notice. This 4-year-old Eskimo is the kind of dog who seems to glow - equal parts charm, smarts, and mischief wrapped up in one irresistibly fuzzy package. Beneath all that fluff is a heart full of loyalty and love, just waiting for the right person to see him for who he truly is!As anyone familiar with the breed knows, American Eskimos are smart, opinionated, and sensitive. Rufus fits the bill perfectly! He’s an incredibly loving dog once he trusts you, but in typical Eskimo fashion, he’ll politely let you know when he’s “over it.” It’s all part of his big personality, and it’s exactly what makes him so endearing.Rufus is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and given a flea and tick preventative as well as a heartworm preventive. If you’re ready to open your home to a dog with beauty, brains, and a one-of-a-kind personality, this fluffy charmer is ready to show you just how wonderful life can be with an Eskie by your side. Story
Introverts, this one’s for you! Not a party animal... more of a cozy-corner companion. *NOTE FROM TUCKER: I would strongly prefer a home with well-socialized, confident canine companions!*TUCKER KRAFT is a 9-month-old small mixed breed puppy (about 13-15 lbs) who is gentle, shy, and incredibly sweet. He’s under-socialized and needs a calm, patient home where he can be given the time and space to come out of his shell at his own pace.Tucker isn’t reactive at all and is beautifully polite with food and treats! He’s quiet and prefers cozy corners or tucked-away spots where he can watch the world go by. He wants to be near his people and will quietly follow them around, but if you reach to pet him, he’ll retreat back to his safe space for now.The good news? His confidence is already growing! In just a short time in foster, he’s started licking fingers, sniffing faces, and taking treats directly from hands instead of off the floor. On leash, he doesn’t pull at all and stays right behind his handler, happily letting them lead. He’s doing great with potty habits, eats his dinner in his crate like a gentleman, and already sees his crate as a safe, happy place.Tucker Kraft is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and given a flea and tick preventative as well as a heartworm preventive. Tucker absolutely LOVES other dogs and truly thrives with calm, confident canine friends! He uses them as confidence boosters and would do wonderfully in a home with stable friendly companions as long as proper, slow introductions are performed.Tucker’s perfect home will be with someone patient, kind, and committed to giving him space at first - even “ignoring him” outside of basic care for the first week or two - so he can learn to trust on his own terms. He may always enjoy having a cozy retreat space, and that’s part of his gentle charm. This isn’t a plug-and-play puppy, but he is a once-in-a-lifetime soul dog for the right person. Watching Tucker bloom is going to be something really special! Please fill out an adoption application on our website - for any additional information or questions, please contact the shelter at wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com or (920) 279-9795.

Story
Ever met a dog who just needs someone willing to go slow and believe in him? Meet OLIVER!Oliver is a 9-month-old small mixed breed (about 15-18 lbs) with a tender heart and a quiet, thoughtful nature. He is extremely under-socialized, which means the world still feels big and overwhelming to him - and he will need a lot of patience, consistency, and understanding to truly thrive.Oliver is not a bold or outgoing puppy. He’s an introvert who prefers cozy corners, observing from a safe distance, and taking things at his own pace. He wants to be near his people but doesn’t yet trust hands reaching toward him, so a calm adopter who respects his boundaries is essential. The good news? He is already making progress! With gentle handling and routine, Oliver is gaining confidence - taking treats more comfortably, staying close on leash without pulling, and learning that humans can be kind and predictable. He does best with structure and having a quiet space where he can retreat and feel safe.Oliver’s ideal home will be calm and patient, with someone who understands that confidence is built slowly. His adopter should be comfortable giving him space at first - even minimal interaction beyond basic care - so trust can grow naturally on his terms. Oliver has lived with other dogs, suggesting he may do well living in a home with other animals as long as proper, slow introductions are performed! Oliver is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on flea & tick and heartworm preventatives. If you believe the quiet ones are often the most special, Oliver may be your perfect match! Please fill out an adoption application on our website - for any additional information or questions, please contact the shelter at wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com or (920) 279-9795.

Story
Frannie is a compact cutie looking for her new family! This girl is about 2 years old and is all about the FUN. Toys, games, walks, runs, you name it, she`s up for it. We think she`d love agility or maybe scent work - anything that keeps her brain and body busy. Frannie can be cautious and leery of new people so a home without a lot of people coming and going would be ideal for her. Frannie would do best with a confident and patient person who is able to help her thrive. She is an amazing, sweet girl and is well worth it. More about Frannie:- 2 years old (estimated); 43 pounds- Active and playful but also snuggly once she gets comfortable-Frannie is dog social but may be best as the only dog in the home because of how intense and pushy she can be with other dogs. She would be best as a `playmate` not a `roomate` and needs to have supervised playtime- Not suggested for a home with cats. She will chase - Suggested for children around teenage and up due to exuberance, active playstyle, excitable jumping, initial caution with new people. - Spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Please note dog visits are by appointment to ensure staff and space availability so we can make the best match possible. Interested in meeting this dog? The first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website at: https://www.oahs.org/dog-adoption-process/ . Questions? E-mail dog@oahs.org or call (920) 424-2128 ext 108.
