Story
Leo is a 3 year old rat terrier blue heeler mix. I got him when he was 7 weeks old in 2020. Leo loves to play with his ball. I have never seen a dog that loves to play with a ball as much as him. Leo is a very happy dog and loves getting affection and cuddles. Once he warms up to you he would be by your side all the time. It may take him some time to warm up but once he does he will be your best friend. Leo does have some food aggression and has nipped in the past. Healers are know for there temperament but he does show warring if he wants to be left alone. Because of that he would need to go into a home with no young children. He would need someone that would have the time to really work with him. I have worked a little on kennel training and he would do well if worked with more. Leo has so much potential to be an amazing dog if match with the right owner!! If interested please text (920) 889-8458

Hi, my name is Pepper! I'm an older gal looking for my forever home after coming from another shelter in the Upper Peninsula! I'm a mellow girl who can be shy and take a bit to warm up to new people, but once I do, I will be your friend for life! I have this keen sense to choose dog people right out of a crowd. I am a good walker, and I love being petted and getting belly rubs! Land to run would be great for me because while I am on the older side, I still have lots of energy and life in me! However, if a couch is what you have to offer me, I will gladly take that too! A home with older children would be best for me and I am not a fan of other dogs, so I would like to be your one and only doggy friend. Could you please give me a quiet home and a comfy couch? I will repay you with so much love, I promise! Please come meet me at the shelter! Love, Pepper. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 68 Age: 9yrs 2mths 2wks

Story
Hello! My name is Rose. I am a shy gal who came to the shelter for being a bit too nippy, so the landlord said I could no longer stay there. I can be a bit protective of my people, so I am looking for someone who can give me the assurance that people are not a threat, but instead can be my friends! The shelter is working with me on trusting people again. I know sit and lay down. I even stay for short periods of time! I look so cute when I sit or stand on my back legs! Once I get to know you, I become an amazing cuddle dog who will nuzzle into your chest for affection. Because of my history of being overprotective and nippy around kids, a home with older kids would be best for me. I also have lived with dogs in the past, but didn't get along with them or other dogs outside the home. A dog free home would be best. There is a sweet and loving side to me - it just may take some patience from my new family to get it out of me! A quiet home that doesn't have frequent visitors would be ideal! I know my family is out there to build my confidence up. Until they come, I'll be patiently waiting here! Ask to meet me at the shelter! Story
Hi there. I'm Trixie. I am a 6 year old gal who was surrendered to the shelter for not being a fan of my owner's grandkids. I just need to be in a home with children who will respect me. I just went to an adoption event at Petsmart and I was very good with children who met me. Lots of pets and I just loved that. Another dog might be nice with the proper intro. I really am a sweet girl. I love to snuggle and show you how much I adore you. I love to play with toys. Tennis balls are one of my favorites. At 54 pounds I am the perfect size to keep your lap warm. I walk great on a leash and did anyone say "treats"? I am housebroken and know basic commands. All the volunteers like to hang out with me. My good vibes will make your day brighter. I will make a great companion for a single person too. Might you and me be a perfect match? Please come to the Humane Society and let's find out.Love, Trixie Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Markings Weight: 54 Age: 6yrs 3mths 3wks

Hi! My name is Farkle! I'm a young girl who was surrendered because my owner no longer had time to take care of me. I have so much fun playing with toys, and I am a good walker and know all my basic commands! I'm such a good girl! Obedience classes would be beneficial because I am smart and eager to pleas! I am full of energy but love to cuddle and get hugs too! I can be hesitant of new people at first, but once I open up, I will be your best friend! I also would do best in a home with older kids who will respect my space. I have lived with another dog in the past, but some dogs here overwhelm me, so we would need to have a proper introduction first to make sure it is a good fit. I'd love to break free of the shelter environment. I'm ready for a new start! Come ask to meet me! Primary Color: Brown Weight: 66 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Rusty. I am a very friendly and energetic 6 1/2 year old Plott Hound mix who was sadly surrendered to the shelter when the only family I have ever known could no longer afford to keep me. I unfortunately have skin allergies and hyperthyroidism, so I do require medication to help me keep that in check. However, I am responding very well to the medication I am on and doing well! I am struggling with the shelter environment, however. I am quite a talker, as most hounds are. Being here doesn't make it easy not to talk though - there's so much noise! I have lived with other dogs in the past, and I don't seem to really care about the other dogs here, so I would probably be able to share a home with another dog in the future! I also lived with young kids and did well with them! I am a lovable guy that just needs someone to give me a chance and take me home so I can be my sweet self. Could that be you? Please come to meet me at the shelter! Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 75.1 Age: 6yrs 6mths 3wks
