A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there. Meet Chad Chad is a 1-year-old Siberian Husky who is ready for a fresh start. He came into the shelter as a stray and, sadly, no one came to reclaim him. Now he’s hoping someone will give him the second chance he deserves. Chad is a silly, goofy boy with a sweet and affectionate personality. He absolutely loves belly rubs and hugs and can be just a bit of a velcro dog — happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s very treat motivated, which makes him eager to learn and fun to work with. In new situations, Chad can be a little unsure and may do an adorable belly crawl while he builds confidence. Once he feels comfortable, his playful side shines. He enjoys playing with other dogs and tends to be more submissive during play, especially with his friend Karen. He would likely do well with another friendly dog. Cats and kids are currently unknown. Chad weighs 45 lbs, is heartworm negative, and is not yet neutered. He has decent leash manners and, like any young husky, will benefit from continued structure, exercise, and positive reinforcement training. Age: 1 year Gender: Male (not yet neutered) Weight: 45 lbs Breed: Siberian Husky Spayed/Neutered: No Potty Trained: Unsure Crate Trained: Unsure Leash Manners: Good Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested Good with Kids: Unsure Chad is available for the 3/21/26 transport and is ready to keep moving forward. He would love a foster or adoptive home to help make that happen. If you’re able to foster or adopt, please apply today. www.muttlife.org __________ Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up-to-date dewormer, vaccinations, heartworm prevention (age appropriate), and certified veterinarian inspection within 30 days of adoption. __________ Review adoption requirements and ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply! https://www.muttlife.org/adoption-policies _________ ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.) Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old. **Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**

A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there. Meet Spud Spud is a 5-month-old mixed breed puppy who is ready for a fresh start. He and his brother, Sprout, were found as strays and ended up in an Arkansas shelter where they are now sadly on the euthanasia list. Despite their rough start, Spud has remained a happy, loving puppy who is eager for a chance at a better life. He has a playful, friendly personality and enjoys being around people. Like most puppies his age, Spud is curious about the world and always ready for fun and attention. He does well with other dogs and kids, and with proper introductions and time to adjust, he will likely do well with cats too. Him and his brother are likely lab/sharpei mix and are super squishy and cute with their extra wrinkles. Spud is still a young pup and will need help learning the basics like crate training, potty training, and leash manners, but he’s at the perfect age to learn and grow with his new family. With patience, consistency, and love, he’ll make a wonderful companion. For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________ RUSTY- AVAILABLE TO FOSTER OR ADOPT 3/14/26 Rusty is currently in a southern kill shelter and needs a foster or adopter to secure his spot on the transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on Saturday, March 14. A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there to give him the fresh start he deserves. Meet Rusty Rusty is an approximately 1–2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who is ready for a second chance. He was heartbreakingly found abandoned in a hotel room by his previous owner, left alone for days with no food or water. After being discovered, animal control picked him up, and he is now sitting in a kill shelter where he is at risk of euthanasia if he isn’t tagged for rescue. Despite everything he has been through, Rusty is incredibly sweet and friendly. He enjoys being around people and has a gentle, loving personality. Rusty has tested friendly with dogs and kids, making him a great fit for many family environments. He has not yet been tested with cats. Rusty likely has lived in a home before and may already be potty trained, though we can’t say for certain. He does walk well on the leash! Because his past is largely unknown, he may need some refreshers with crate training and home life as he settles into a new routine. At around 45 pounds, Rusty is a great medium size and would love a home where he can go for walks, learn new things, and finally feel safe. Rusty has already endured so much, but he remains a loving, resilient dog who just wants a person to call his own. With a foster or adopter in place, he can travel north on Saturday, March 14 and begin the next chapter of his life. Meet Penguin Penguin is an 8-week-old Basset/Bully mix puppy who is just starting her life and looking for a loving home to grow up in. She came to the shelter as part of an owner surrender from a backyard breeder dropping off two litters of unwanted puppies. Shortly after arriving, some of the puppies began getting sick and tested positive for parvo. While many of the puppies did not show symptoms, including Penguin, they were all treated with antibody therapy as a precaution. The good news is that Penguin and the other puppies are now past all of that and doing great. She is healthy, happy, and ready to head north to Wisconsin to find a loving home of her own. Like any young puppy, Penguin is playful, curious, and loves attention from people. She is still learning everything about the world around her and will need a family who can help her with the basics such as potty training, crate training, and learning good household manners. Penguin would do best with a family ready for all the fun (and work) that comes with raising a puppy. With patience, guidance, and lots of love, she will grow into a wonderful lifelong companion.
