**Ziba is being adopted out from her foster home, where she's learning sign language! Please call WCHS to set up an appointment if you are interested in meeting with her.**· Intake Reason: surrendered, owner was unable to care forKnown with:· Cats: lived with 2 cats, and liked to play with them· Dogs: went to dog parks previously, does well in WCHS playgroups; is in foster with multiple dogs· Kids: exposed to various ages· Personality: AffectionateWeight: 40#Greetings, my name is Ziba and I am 40-pounds of special. My name means ‘beautiful' and I think that is very fitting because I am enchanting. My world is very quiet because I am deaf. Since I cannot hear commands, people have been using hand signals to communicate with me; I know the signal for ‘sit' and ‘good girl'. Because I could not hear you calling after me, I will be counting on you to keep me safe and out of trouble. I know that some folks who have a deaf pooch in the family use a vibration collar (no shock, please) to let the dog know you want their attention. I also appreciate it when humans do not sneak up on me or surprise me. In my previous home I had the luxury of roaming about freely when I was alone and also got to share my person's bed at night; that was fabulous. When I needed to go outside, I would sit by the door. When I first come into my new home it would be wise to watch me carefully and also give me plenty of opportunities to get outside to use the facilities. I must confess I am still working on becoming 100% when it comes to house-training. Lots of yummy treats and praise should help me develop that skill. I am a tolerant gal but I have a tendency to get overstimulated, so it would be great if we could work on some settle exercises. I am a smart lass and think it is important to keep my brain busy and engaged so I have been happy with all the enrichment I get at the shelter. I do enjoy romping with other dogs and am sort of a rough player but prefer not to share my toys with them; a girl has got to draw the line somewhere. I enjoy car rides and would love to be your sidekick as we go on many adventures together. I am friendly and outgoing but do prefer a slow and polite introduction to folks I do not know. Give me a few minutes and a couple tasty tidbits and soon we will be BFFs. I hope you stop by to meet me in person; I think it is lovely to increase my circle of friends and we could have a magnificent life together.#2

**If you are interested in meeting Libby, please call WCHS to set up an appointment.**Intake Reason: strayWeight: 73#Known with:· Cats: unknown· Dogs: Does well in WCHS calm playgroups· Kids: unknownHi there, my name is Libby and I am 73 pounds of sweetness and charm. I came to WCHS as a stray so my history is a bit of a mystery but one thing that is no puzzle is what a friendly gal I am. I am outgoing and tolerant but I do prefer my canine playmates to be calm and polite; I have enjoyed playgroups at the shelter and am not pleased with crazy and rambunctious dogs. Speaking of manners, I must confess that I could use some training on that front. I will greet you when you approach but have been known to jump up on folks when I say ‘hi'. I am an active girl and love to go on walks with people but tend to pull a bit on a leash, so I guess I could use some practice on that as well. I am smart and already know the cues for ‘sit', ‘down' and ‘shake/paw'. It would be lovely to take some classes with you because mental exercise is important to me too. Perhaps we could participate in obedience, rally, canine sports or nose work. I am affectionate and playful; a real lap-lover who would enjoy snuggle sessions after a day filled with fun. I promise to be loyal and think I could fill your home with love. I hope you stop by to meet me in person because I like to expand my circle of friends and think you will find me impressive.#2

Story
**WCHS is requiring me to go to a home with breed experience.**· Intake Reason: stray; Returned adoption due to not being the right matchKnown with:· Cats: unknown· Dogs: Does well in WCHS playgroup· Kids: unknown· Personality: loves playing in pools in the courtyard at WCHS, super intelligent, EXTREMELY ACTIVEWeight: 49 lbsHowdy, my name is Turner and I am in the market for a new home. I am an active boy who loves to run and explore the great outdoors; perhaps that is how I ended up as a stray at WCHS. I am looking for a family who is familiar with my breed so they understand my exercise needs and fun and quirky personality. I am a sensitive guy who can be a tad shy when I first meet someone but if they keep calm and take things slow, in no time we will be the best of buddies; I prefer a gentle scratch under the chin rather than a pat on the head. I truly enjoy a nice long walk or hike but must confess I am quite strong and pull a bit on a leash, especially when we are first starting out. I am curious about other dogs when out and about so when I see one, I try to run faster to catch up to them. I have met a fun, young pittie pooch at the shelter and we have a blast romping together in the courtyard. When I am out walking, I am not phased by passing cars and when I see joggers although I am curious, I do not react. However, I may wonder why they get to run and I am just walking; did I mention I am an energetic guy? I find birds fascinating and seem to have a natural instinct to chase them; my ancestors were developed as hunting dogs after all. Once I have been out walking or jogging for a while, I start to relax and enjoy the scenery and all the smells; I will take the opportunity to roll in the cool dewy grass. I know how to ‘sit' when asked as long as the cue is given clearly. It would be grand to have a job or two to help me burn some energy and put my wonderful mind to work. I am sure with patient and positive training I could excel at agility, obedience, nose work, dog parkour or rally; I am quite athletic and will thrive on vigorous exercise. I know we can be BFFs and I will make you proud because I will be eager to please and faithful forever. Stop by and check out how dynamic and brilliant I am.

Story
·Intake Reason: Surrendered due to not being the right match-Weight: 12 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownHello, my name is Gray and I am a feisty and spunky gal looking for a new home. I originally came from MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission) and was adopted for a couple months by a very nice person. After a while we realized that we were not the right match, so I came back to WCHS to find a new family. Although I am a senior and smallish, I am by no means a frou-frou dog who wants to lounge all day; I like to stay busy. I am a spirited gal who enjoys a power-walk and consider myself a fearless chipmunk hunter. I am friendly and tolerant of handling, but do like affection on my own terms. I am working through some resource guarding issues and will need my family to understand that I prefer a little space when I am enjoying my meals. I do like yummy treats, so it might help if you walk by and toss some tasty morsels into my bowl while I am eating. That way I will start to look forward to you being near during mealtime because it brings good things. I can be a wee bit shy initially when I meet someone but that just means I do not rush in and slobber all over every human I meet like some pooches I know; I am more reserved. I am a calm little lady who appreciates cozy beds and blankets and a place to nap in a sunbeam. I like to keep my brain busy, so I think it would be lovely to play mentally challenging games or use my nose to find treats in a foraging mat. If you are looking for a girl who is past the crazy puppy days, likes to commune with nature on a walk each day and enjoys the magic of tranquil moments I may just be the pooch you are searching for. Stop by to meet me in person and maybe we'll discover we are a match made in heaven.#2
