Story
Jojo is being fostered in Illinois. Has some vision.Hi. My name is Jojo. I am a 4-year-old boxer mix. I like to think of myself as a playful happy-go-lucky gal. I may not see you well because close objects are like shadows and a little blurry to me, but I know you are there. I get along well with all the cats and dogs in my foster home. I like cats (see https://youtu.be/t_3b0r0n9LY ). But I may need slow introductions with little feisty dogs. But I would love to go to a home that has many friendly 4-legged buddies.I like to be active and meet people and other dogs (see https://youtu.be/9LG4Cy9_kJI ). However, I am not too good with children because a lot of time kids either approach me too fast or gather around me, which makes me so scared that I have to give a warning snap. But I do love my walks. Even more, I love an open field that I can have all to myself so I can let out a lot of my energy (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nWkm8OssZU ). At home, I like to relax and sit at my spot while my foster daddy is doing his work. Everyday, I get to be petted and it makes me feel loved (see https://youtu.be/Y_-7FDicj-M ).I am housebroken. However, every once in a while, I have accidents because anxiety gets the best of me when I realize my foster dad has not been home for a while. I will do well in a home where someone is present 90-95 percent of time, perhaps with someone who works out of home or is an active retired person.Blind Dog Rescue has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
* To be considered for a meet/adoption, please read the full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an online application at www.dpsrescue.org.* This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, August 29th from 12–3 PM (unless adopted prior to the event). All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.   Adoption fee: $650   Meet Hi-C — A Refreshing Reason to Fall in Love Born in the shelter but raised in the safety of our rescue to adorable Mama Sunny D, a petite, low-rider Pittie mix, Hi-C has spent his entire life surrounded by love, good care, and plenty of opportunities to grow into a confident, happy pup. Now, at 13 weeks old and weighing somewhere around 25 pounds, he's ready to trade the nursery for a forever home. His days begin bright and early around 7 a.m. with a potty break outside before digging into his favorite Nulo puppy breakfast. Since growing puppies work up quite an appetite, he enjoys meals every 3–4 hours throughout the day before spending his time doing what puppies do best: playing, wrestling, exploring, collecting toys, greeting visitors, and occasionally crashing for an adorable nap. He spends his days roaming the barn with plenty of enrichment and has been raised alongside adult dogs and cats, making him a respectful housemate in the making. By about 9 p.m., he's happily tucked into bed after another adventure-filled day. Hi-C: Big Heart, Big Paws, Big Personality Hi-C is a sturdy little guy with a playful spirit and endless confidence — and every pound of him is sweetness. Whether he's chasing toys, exploring the barn, or making new human friends, Hi-C approaches everything with joy. He's quick to say hello when visitors arrive and loves being right in the middle of the action. If you're looking for a puppy who's equal parts goofy playmate and loyal best friend, Hi-C is ready for the job. Looking for a Little Refreshment? Like all young puppies, Hi-C will need a family committed to positive training, socialization, patience, and lots of love as he grows into a wonderful adult dog. In return, you'll get years of laughter, loyal companionship, and a best friend who's guaranteed to brighten every season — not just summer. August 25, 2026, 12:10 pm

Story
Thank you for your interest in this sweet girl. Ella has been adopted, Energetic, loving, and goofy 9-year-old Ella is super sweet but needs a family with an experienced dog owner. A little under 2ft tall and 40 lbs, she's sleek and muscular. Ella is fully house-trained and very patient with the three cats she lives with. She's never lived with kids but is generally chill with the children in the neighborhood.
She loves her toys, playing fetch, tug of war games, following you around the house, and of course, napping. Ella wants to be involved in whatever you're doing and is alert to someone coming to the door. She is highly food motivated, Ella picks up new tricks quickly but can be stubborn and easily distracted, so she needs lots of consistent positive reinforcement to maintain behavioral changes. She has many opinions and she will let you know about them.
Ella also plays well with other dogs, although sometimes she has issues with dogs larger than she is, but is good at de-escalating potential conflicts. Ella really loves company so if her new people are gone for a full work day she will need a canine companion. She's leash trained and always excited to jump in the car to visit the park. Ella is a great dog looking for a home where she is loved and cherished. Would you be the one for her?" Ella is now being fostered in Oakland, CA and her adoption fee is $275.00 Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great gal or for an application to adopt.

Story
Elara is just beginning to learn what it means to be a dog in a home. She has had little to no training yet, so her new family should be prepared to start with the basics — house training, leash skills, basic manners, socialization, and learning how to settle in the home. Raising a puppy takes time, patience, consistency, and plenty of supervision. During this important developmental stage, she needs people who are home at least every two hours throughout the day for potty breaks, guidance, companionship, and opportunities to learn. Puppy classes are strongly encouraged, both for training and continued socialization. As she grows, her exercise and activity needs will increase, so her family should be prepared to provide regular walks, age-appropriate exercise, mental enrichment, and ongoing training as she matures. Elara is at the very beginning of her journey, and with the right guidance, she’ll have every opportunity to grow into a wonderful adult companion. (HH) Estimated adult weight is about 40+ pounds, no guarantees.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:6Ezekiel is a 10-month-old boxer weighing 65 pounds. He is a sweet, sensitive puppy who's still learning that the world can be a safe place. Everything is a little overwhelming right now, but with patience and kindness, this gentle boy has all the potential to blossom into the happy, confident companion he's meant to be. He'll thrive with experienced adopters who can let him settle in at his own pace and celebrate the little victories along the way. A quiet adult home with a confident resident dog would be a wonderful fit, helping Ezekiel build confidence and discover all the joys of being a puppy. He would do best with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with dog friends outside the home. August 25, 2026, 11:27 am
