You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Buttercream and siblings found themselves unwanted and on death row in a high kill shelter in West Texas.  They love other dogs and humans, cats would likely be fine with good intros.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.Hi, everyone! My name is Buttercream. I have a BIG personality. I’m very clumsy and flop my big paws around, my host family says I am part moose. I ring the bells when I need to go outside to potty, however I do still tinkle a little when I get super excited or scared.  I do well in a kennel, and I also do very well in a bath! I love being around other animals and my foster sister is my best friend. I took awhile to warm up to my foster family, I was very scared and skittish. I may be scared of you too when we start, but I will definitely warm up after a little while and ask for belly scratches all the time! It’s one of my favorite things. Another favorite thing of mine is toys and treats! Boy, do I love being spoiled. Once I know I am safe and loved, I will stick close to my family. I like sleeping with those that I love, and I will get excited to see you come home! I will also snuggle on the couch with you if you want me to. I am a baby boy who’s had a rough past, but is looking at a bright future. I have so much love to offer the world. I will be your best friend, but you will have to be patient with me and be mine in return. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 10, 2025, 1:42 pm

Story
Who’s looking for a sweetheart of a pup? A tail-wagging, morning snuggling, happy pup? Chubbington (I call him Mr. Chubs) is a Chihuahua mix with an estimated birthdate of March 2020. As his name implies, he is a tad overweight, so he is on a diet right now. He loves natural treats like bananas and apples. He’s very smart and knows sit. We’re working on wait, stay, and down. Yes, he’s a little older, but no less fun or playful. He has a good balance of being active on walks and chill indoors; unless of course you whip him up during playtime! Mr. Chubs loves to sit on your lap, but he’s not needy about it. He will go lie in his bed or on different chairs, then come back to you for some snuggle time. Plus he doesn’t seem to be a “one person” type of pup. He’s happy in whatever lap he’s in at the time.  Mr. Chubs is fully house trained. He doesn’t necessarily tell you when he has to go, but going out on a schedule works beautifully. He’s never had an accident or marked in the house and is able to go all night without a problem. He loves to go for walks but does pull on the leash because it’s a big world out there and there are tons of things to sniff and mark and chase. Again, he’s very smart and training him to heel should go quickly. He’s been really good meeting people on walks and has met a number of dogs well. Again, he gets so excited he jumps and spins a lot. He seems to do very well with larger dogs, so maybe he had a big dog in his earlier life. He is not too crazy about the kennel. Ok, he hates going in. He resists going in and will bark for a bit when you first leave, but then he settles down and is quiet.  I’m slowly introducing him to being left outside the kennel, then watching on camera to see what he does. So far so good, he hasn’t destroyed anything or gotten too stressed. Another thing he’s not too crazy about is having his nails trimmed. He may need some medication in order to accomplish that. For a five-year-old dog, he can be exuberant, especially at first. He will play bite and jump up, which could scare smaller children. Once that initial burst is out, though, he’s a good little pup just looking for some scratches. Again, training should work very well for him as he’s so smart. He is a stuffed-toy destroyer, but the harder chews and kongs keep him occupied. He’s so funny because when he first gets the chew toys he tries to hide them all over the house. Mr. Chubs also loves car rides and wants to ride shotgun but is fine tethered in back seat. If you’re looking for a little fun bundle of love, Chubbington is your guy.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I'm Spot!  My foster mom calls me Little Guy and Spoty!  I am a chi/terrier mix and weigh only about 5-6lbs at 4 months!  I came from down south and was a stray running the streets, so they scooped me up and brought me here to MN.  When I arrived, I was only 3 months old and weighed only 3lbs!! I am a little guy who loves to act like I am the KING of the house!  I currently live with two big resident dogs who know where I stand and know I am the big guy in charge, even though I am so little! They love to play with me and wrestle around! I just love playing with them, I do have to watch out sometimes because I think they forget how little I am, and I can get stepped on. My foster mom always comes to my rescue to save me!  I love playing, I love cuddling, and sleeping with my foster mom on the couch and on her bed at night!  I love to make everyone aware when I hear a noise that is not normal, or if there are strangers outside when I am outside, I love chewing on a good bone or Kong, and I love carrying blankets around!  I am doing a wonderful job with potty training!  I go outside about 90% of the time and can hold my potty for a really long time! Foster mom still has a puppy pad out for me, and I will use it every now and then, but I prefer to wait to go outside with everyone else!  I am crate trained and do not mind being in my crate at all. I typically am in my crate one time a week for about 8 hrs and do not have any accidents!  I am good with all people (kids and adults), and I love my resident dogs and snuggle them and play well with them. I am not sure about cats as I have never been around them, but I think I would do well with them, especially since I am still so small. I may bark at them at first, but I think I will adjust well to them if they are in the home!  I also love going out for walks. I don't walk far and ask to be held after some time because I am so little, but I do enjoy a nice little walk on a leash and do great!  I love car rides, whether in the back seat or just chillin in my foster mom's lap.  Overall, I am a wonderful, smart little guy full of love, snuggles, cuteness, and energy (at least that's what my foster mom thinks)! Send in an application and welcome me into your home as my Furever home! I know I won't disappoint!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus tax Sammy is a smart, goofy girl whose greatest joy in life is to snuggle up on the couch with her person. She’ll be your little shadow - moving with you from room to room just be together. She's an A-1 level snuggler and wants to be as close as you'll let her be, but will give you space when you ask for it.  Sammy is easy-peasy to have around - she'll play with you if you're willing but can easily entertain herself as well. She's happy to go for short or long walks (definitely short when it's cold though!) and walks well on a leash. She's happy to play either with you or independently. She has a collection of stuffed animals that are all around her size (or bigger!) She'll greet you and new friends by trotting over to show them off. It's so cute - you just have to smile!   She's crate-trained and will often go in there to hang out just because she wants to. She can be crated while you're gone for work for the day, but she doesn't need to be. Sammy can be reactive towards other dogs and would do best as an only dog.   She does bark at people walking by and some household noises (like the dryer buzzer) so she would probably not do well in an apartment.   Please feel free to fill out an ADOPTION   APPLICATION by clicking on the  button below. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I know you want to meet me! Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Sunday, April 27th from 12:00-1:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Trisha is the epitome of a loving companion! This mellow girl has a heart full of affection and a gentle spirit that will melt your heart. Despite being a Chihuahua mix, she carries herself with grace and charm, making her a delightful addition to any household. Trisha is incredibly sociable and gets along with all dogs, though she prefers to do her own thing rather than engage in rambunctious play. Whether she's enjoying the company of her furry friends or soaking up the love from her human, she’s content to be by your side. Whenever you glance down, you'll find her gazing up at you with adoration, ready to gently nudge your leg for some much-deserved pets. If you take a moment to get down on her level, she’ll snuggle right into your lap, showering you with hugs and kisses. Her gentle nature makes her a perfect fit for families with children, and her calm demeanor means she’d thrive in an apartment setting. Trisha is making great strides in her potty and kennel training and is improving on her leash skills—no need for a fenced yard as long as someone is willing to help her fine-tune those walks! She may have a love for food, but nothing compares to the joy she feels from your praise, which is her favorite treat of all. If you have an empty lap, Trisha is more than ready to fill it! With her beautiful ears tuned to your voice and her sparkling eyes filled with love, she has a unique ability to make all your troubles fade away. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion who will bring joy and warmth to your life, Trisha is the girl for you! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
