Story

Sometimes a name just fits, and Precious is definitely one of those dogs. At 10 years young, she's a sweet, gentle, low-energy girl who can be timid at first, but give her a little time and her affectionate personality begins to shine. Precious gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has settled right into her foster pack (3 large dogs and 2 other chihuahuas) she's even starting to play a little! She loves being near her person—curling up beside her foster mom while she works or occasionally deciding they should share the office chair. She enjoys cuddles but is also perfectly content relaxing on her own. Once Precious bonds with you, she becomes your little lookout and will alert you when she hears something unfamiliar. She's shy with new visitors and just needs a little time to warm up. She's crate trained, walks well and has the cutest little prance. She gets around great and even uses a stool to hop onto the bed. Precious is also discovering TREATS—and she's a big fan! She's got quite the nose for people food, too. One exception: peanut butter is unacceptable. Precious has standards. She's still working on potty training and will let you know when she needs a nighttime potty break. She has no known pre-existing medical conditions. Precious may be 10, but she's still discovering new things and showing us more of her personality every day. She's looking for a patient, loving home where she can enjoy plenty of cozy spots, treats (hold the peanut butter!) and companionship. Sweet, gentle and just a little shy—that's our Precious. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story

Peanut has a big dog personality and if he sees other dogs, he gets super excited, and the yipping sounds scary, but he just wants to play!! He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness. In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. So now you know more about the firecracker named Peanut. He is a doll!! ADOPT....DON'T SHOP!! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Meet Athena! Athena is a 2 1/2-year-old Chihuahua weighing just 6 pounds, but don't let her tiny size fool you, this little girl has a heart big enough to fill a room! Athena has been through something no dog should have to experience. She suffered a head injury that left her with some permanent brain damage. Thankfully, she does not have seizures, but she does walk with an adorable head tilt and has a bit of a goofy, quirky way about her. Her differences only make her that much more special. Athena is good with other dogs and would love a peaceful, quiet home where she can feel safe and take her time settling in. She can be shy when she first meets someone, but once she realizes she is loved and safe, she warms up beautifully. And when Athena loves you, she loves with her whole heart. IMPORTANT: Athena needs a FEMALE-ONLY home. Because of her tiny size and delicate nature, we are also looking for a home without small children. Her ideal person will be patient, understanding, and willing to give her the time she needs to build confidence and adjust to her new surroundings. Athena may do things a little differently, but she doesn't let that stop her from being a sweet, loving little dog. She deserves someone who will see past her head tilt and goofy walk and recognize the amazing little soul underneath. If you're looking for a tiny companion with a HUGE heart, Athena may be your girl. Ideal home: Female-only, quiet and calm Dogs: Good with other dogs Personality: Initially shy, then incredibly loving Children: No small children recommended Special needs: Head tilt and neurological differences from previous head injury; no seizures
