Walks on leash are fun too, but let’s be honest… my favorite time of the day is feeding time! I get so excited I tend to wolf down my food, so a slow feeder dish might be helpful (even if I’m not totally convinced). I enjoy a good game of fetch, though I usually prefer to sit back and watch the other dogs play. I’m good with cats, but I think I’d be happiest in a cat-free home. Car rides are a breeze for me—whether in a crate or safely buckled in—and I even put myself to bed in my kennel when I’m ready for some “me time.” Most of all, I love being near my people and hanging out with the family dogs. I haven’t spent much time around kids, but I’d likely do well with older, gentle ones who understand my size. He is also a big fan of laps and is a great sleeper. He has enjoyed playing with a lot of small breed dogs that have visited our home. He doesn't seem to know what to do with toys though. Tommy is nervous of lots of movement and noise, and it seems to put him on edge, so he really needs a quiet and understanding home free of children. He is a bit fearful of car rides, but we have been training him to make them a positive experience and it has helped him calm down after a bit.

He's a little shadow that likes to be near his person. Now that he's gotten comfortable, Alvin has become more energetic and playful, and loves his plushies. Alvin is doing great with housetraining in his usual routine, though needs some time to adjust when in a new environment. From the Vet: Alvin has had a dental surgery while in rescue, so he will have a healthy mouth for his new family!

He loves his toys and is very treat and food driven. He likes to chew, but sticks to approved toys and treats. He is not destructive to the home or our belongings. He is good on the leash and loves smelling everything while on walks. After he finishes playing he will snuggle up next to you for a nap. He is fully house trained and will go to the door or jump on you when it is time to go outside. He likes sleeping next to me on the bed or wrapped up in one of his blankets. He is very curious and will follow you around the house to make sure he is not missing out on the action! He can get overstimulated and bark when people enter the home or if he is approached by someone he doesn't know. A quiet home with less noise and distractions will assure success for Oscar. He does not like a kennel or being confined. He is better with women than men, but warms to everyone with time. He needs weekly medicated baths for his sensitive skin, but this is greatly improved. Frequent ear cleaning/checks are needed.
