She is a playful pup who is confident with other dogs and a little shy around new people. Once she gets to know you, she is a cuddlesome bundle! Brisa loves the dog park & playing with her foster house mates-an older rat terrier and an American cat. She is a quick learner and redirects easily when she is caught chewing on a slipper or blanket. She is potty trained on a schedule & crate trained (may need a few minutes to settle down). When she gets home from playing, a nap is definitely in order! She would be a great cuddly companion and addition to your home! Adoption Fee: $525

🐾 Meet Pepe 💙 📍 Age: 8 ½ years ⚖️ Weight: 7 lbs 🐾 Breed: chihuahua 🐶 Dog Friendly: Prefers to be the only dog 🐱 Cat Friendly: Unknown 👶 Kid Friendly: Yes 🚽 Potty Trained: Yes (thrives on a routine) 🏠 Crate Trained: Yes 🦮 Leash Trained: Yes 🚗 Car Rides: Does well 🌳 Fenced Yard Required: No ⚡ Energy Level: Low Pepe came to us all the way from Texas and is now ready to rule his forever home as the king of the castle. Pepe is low-energy and happiest when he’s close to his people — cuddling, snuggling, or sleeping above your head on his very own pillow. He’s leash trained, does well in the car, and doesn’t require a fenced yard, as he’s perfectly content with on-leash potty breaks and strolls. He can be slow to warm up and is best suited as an only dog, where he doesn’t have to share attention. Pepe forms a strong bond with his favorite person and may show resource-guarding behaviors with that person, so he’ll thrive in a calm home that understands small-dog boundaries and can respect his cues. Pepe is kid-friendly, potty trained on a schedule, and crate trained, doing well in his crate when left alone. He’s also startled by loud noises or sudden movements, so a quieter household would help him feel secure. Health-wise, Pepe recently had patella surgery, and his recovery has gone very well. He’s feeling good and ready to enjoy the cozy side of life — especially if pig ears are involved (his favorite treat!). 💵 Adoption Fee: $???

My name is Mister Rogers, but foster mom calls me Roger-Dodger. My momma (Henrietta) had us in Mexico, and I made it all the way to MN with my mom and two brothers when we were three weeks old. Foster mom describes me as silly, a little shy, and curious….and a really good eater! What you will first notice about me is that I am the best behaved in my litter…and I have learned how to be patient :) I look the most like mom, and my big soulful eyes make me look sad sometimes, but I’m not! I like the resident dogs (3 big resident dogs) in my foster home but haven’t had too much interaction with them as I am still pretty small. While my siblings have their favorite, my favorite is still momma Henrietta. But, with the resident dogs, we give each other kisses through the pen, and I run around with them inside the house a few times a day (too cold for me to be outside these days!). I play with my brothers and mom though, and that keeps me busy. As a puppy, I am getting used to so many new things! Foster mom introduces new toys and things everyday, like things that make different noises, or things that move…everyday is an adventure. I am also getting used to new sounds, as the music piped into my area includes daily household and outdoor sounds, and this makes the world far less scary! I am teething, so teething toys are my favorite, especially the ones you freeze. Other favorites are frozen chunks of watermelon and blueberries. For regular treats…my favorite are Honey Nut Cheerios! I enjoy stealing moms jerky treats and really like the Churu bites. Training treats are fun, especially when they are in a puzzle toy. I love toys…my favorite is probably a used water bottle (label and cap removed).  Are you the family for me? Maybe you have a kid or dog who needs a dog? I always have the sweetest look with my big puppy eyes and am always attentive to the human. Foster mom says that she can tell that I just want to please the humans…get the cuddles…and eat all the food! I would do great with any family, with or without kids, with or without other dogs. Fill out an app to meet me…you won’t be disappointed! My name is Henrietta Pussycat, mommy to the Mister Rogers Litter of 3. I was found as a stray in Mexico and made my way to MN with three beautiful baby boys. I always have a smile on my face for you and want to just cuddle with my humans more than anything else (and get all the belly rubs). My bug eyes make me look like I’m always a little surprised…and maybe I am…but I just feel lucky to be here.  I am potty trained and haven’t had any accidents in the house (and in the severe cold I use potty pads). I am good in a kennel or pen, and really like having my own “space.” When I first meet you, I might be a little shy or timid, but with trust, treats and tail waggin’ pets, I will definitely come to you for all the love. I definitely would do best with a family with some patience to allow me time to figure things out and gain the confidence I am working towards. For that reason, older considerate children would be best.  I would be perfectly happy being the only dog and getting all the attention. Although I do love the female dogs in my foster home, especially the Great Pyrenees.   I am learning to be a “pet” dog. I don’t fully understand toys yet but have been working on puzzle toys with my babies, and have been “caught” engaging with toys by my human. I like meal toppers on my food…like many of my chi-buddies, I am a little picky with my food. I really like a wet food pate mixed with my kibble, or shredded mozzarella. Surprisingly….not a huge fan of peanut butter. I love treats though…mostly chicken tendons and jerkys as well as biscuits. Oh…and the whipped cream pup cup gets me every time! I am very treat motivated, and have been learning a few basic obedience things…but mostly we have been working on building confidence. I am learning to wait for treats to take them more gently. I am very attentive to my human and am good at following her directions while training. She says I am very smart and could become my best doggy self with a patient human. Are you the family for me? I always have a happy face for my human and just love to be near you! Belly rubs are my absolute favorite! Foster mom says that she can tell that I just want to please the humans…get the cuddles…and eat all the treats! I would do great with any family who wants to help train me to be my best self. I would be ok being the only dog in the household and soak up all the love for myself! Fill out an app to meet me…you won’t be disappointed! Story
Meet Zoe, a Chihuahua born approx 3/7/2020. Zoe is a sweet girl who has had a lot of transitions in her life. She can be a little slow to warm up, but once she does, she is very cuddly. She has seemed to attach strongly to the mom of the house and does get anxious when she leaves, but eventually settles down. She’s been alone up to 6 hours, has been free floating around the house, and has not had any accidents or destroyed anything during that time. Zoe is house-trained, and scratches at the door when she needs to be let out. She is not kennel trained. She has been great with our 3.5 year old daughter. Initially she was respectful and a little afraid of our cat, but she has had a few instances of lashing out toward the cat, She has been great with our small dog, and has met other big dogs on leash and has reacted positively. She loves walks, and while she pulls sometimes, she is easily redirected. Zoe is a medium energy level. She loves running off-leash on our acreage, but can also curl up on the couch and be content. In the car Zoe wants to ride on your lap, but also does fine in the kennel during rides. Zoe is treat motivated, playful, and sweet and will make a great family dog for a very lucky family.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I’m Maggie. Im a 2 year old chihuahua mix! I came to mn from Mexico, where i was found living in a hole inside a rock mountain. When I got to mn my foster mom realized I was limping quite a bit. It then was determined by our vets that I needed a double back knee surgery as I had luxating patella in both my back knees. Don’t worry, my foster momma did all the hard work and I feel so much better now and am like a brand new dog!  Now for the fun part! I am such a joy to have around. At first I am not trusting of people but once I learn you wanna be my friend we can be best friends. I am goofy and will play with other dogs big or small but it may take me a few days to warm up to them. When I am in cuddle mode, I don’t like to share my space with other animals and may snap at them if they disturb my sleep. I love cuddles, I am the most cuddly girl ever especially with this thing called winter. I would rather curl up and cuddle with you under a blanket all day long. I am kennel trained and do really enjoy hanging in my kennel. I am for the most part potty trained, occasionally I have accidents here and there but 98% of the time I go outside. I sleep in bed curled up next to my foster momma all night long. As for cats they are fine, if they are more active cats I may try to play with them or chase them but I leave the more laid back cats alone. I will bark at new people coming into the house but will calm down and as long as they leave me alone they can stay. If they are too intrusive or in my face too much at our initial meeting I may growl. I never snap or bite though. I just need some extra time to learn new people are okay!  Anyways do you think you could be my forever home??  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
