Additionally, I do not like the crate and will yell if I’m in there; I will poo outside, but I wear a belly band inside; and I have limited leash experience because I can’t seem to stop myself from showing off my inner Houdini by wriggling out of my leash and harness. I am, however, always respectful of cats and good with other dogs so I will need a doggie companion when I go to my new home. All that said, once my humans have earned my trust, I am the sweetest, most affectionate little guy you will EVER meet! I am also very playful, and I LOVE to chew and run! Full disclosure, I don’t really know what makes up my DNA, but I am guessing 25% ears and a mix of cattle dog and something else. But, let's bring up my oversized ears again … have you seen my photos? SUPER CUTE! Regardless, as far as I’m concerned, I’m just ME…a beautiful and very happy female puppy who simply loves life! My favorite activities include gnawing on big dog bones, playing with any toy that happens to be nearby, and snuggling with my people…especially when I get to bury my long, little body under some cozy blankets! I haven’t met any kids or cats, but I am good with other dogs. I do well on the leash and I’m potty trained, but I do not like that prison cell you humans call a kennel/crate. In fact, I will holler if I’m put in there so let me just say you have been warned! Hee, hee!! Ernest Goes To Jail, yes, to my embarrassment and dismay, I was found as a stray and spent some time in the doggie slammer. It seemed like forever!! But thanks to this rescue I got out on good behavior and am ready for that freedom ride! Yes, Ernest Rides Again!!! I'm just hoping your home is my last ride!! I have been working on the whole house and crate training thing and have got it down. I may have spent most of my life outside but I've caught on quickly. I coming to see that this whole living inside with a soft bed and a warm lap to lay on is pretty darn nice!! I would do best in a quiet adult only home. I'm needing my space but will come seeking companionship when I want it. Kinda like a cat in that sense. I do well with other dogs but would prefer a more mellow sibling that isn't too bouncy and constantly in my space. At 9 years and only 11lbs I would make a great family addition for someone that is looking for a great lil guy to chill with them. I'm already out of that destructive stage but still enjoy neighborhood strolls and catching some rays in the backyard. If you're looking for that needy pup that is always under foot seeking you attention, I'm not your boy. Introducing Tucker the Explorer! This wonderful boy is a loveable, cute, full of expressions dog looking to become someone's forever companion! He's very well trained - knowing how to stay in a crate, go potty outside, and even go through the doggy door! Tucker is a very chill and low energy dog who enjoys everyone. Sometimes Tucker experiences some anxiety when people leave him to go to work or run errands but that's about the extent of it. Tucker would do well in a household where there are other dogs around to bring out his playful side. Potential adopters should know that Tucker is a velcro dog and will be stuck to your side at all times during the day and night. He loves a good nap with his family! Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 6 years old we think. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. She noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I have worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy is giving me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I get the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. Because of the medicines that I am taking to kill the worms in my heart, we are looking for a forever home in the San Antonio area so I wouldn't have to travel so far. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. Have you ever been to Hondo?? It is a really nice small town in Texas, about 30 minutes outside of San Antonio... OR it is the hot SWAT officer on the short lived show, conveniently named... SWAT!! So me? I am a small town kind of guy, having had a ruff start to life, I am great one on one but being in big city crowd is definitely not for me!! I want to find a family who will appreciate me for who I am (kind of a homebody :) and who will have another confident and playful dog who will keep me balanced and happy. I am a timid and shy girl who is making tremendous progress living in a home with a loving family. I have learned so many things – the most important is to trust my people. My people have been very gentle and going slow with me and I have made a lot of progress. She gives me little massages on my head and back – it is so relaxing for me and my people. I have the softest coat and I think you will agree! I am a shy little girl, so having a confident dog in my forever home is required. Another dog will be helpful to show me the ropes, help me get on a routine and help me feel comfortable in my surroundings. Foster mom tells me with a little time and a lotta love, I will come out of my shell and be a great friend to my people. A lot of commotion worry me a bit, so I spend time in my comfy bed watching the activity in the house. Hopefully you have lots of comfy beds for me! Potty training is going great, my foster mom carries me outside and I am good about doing my business on a routine. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   How exciting!  I’m so happy knowing I am ready to have my very own forever home and I’m hoping it’s soon.  I may be a bit cautious at first, but trust me, once I realize I'm in a safe and loving environment, my sweet and playful side shines through. I'm learning quickly that I'm surrounded by caring humans, and each day, I'm opening up a bit more. I’m learning so much and starting to come out of my shell. I like having fun with toys, ropes and bones.  I just love playing and also treats.  Every day there seems to be new things to discover and explore. I am showing my people that I am a very smart girl and recently learned the word "sit." I know we will learn so much more together! There are young kids here at my foster home and we have a good time together, too, because they understand my boundaries and are gentle towards me.  Younger kids who are loud and move quickly would not be a match for me.  I do well in my crate and am working on potty training but do well with a good schedule.  We have started practicing leash walking and I am a work in progress. If you promise to keep working with me on leash training, I don't need a fence in my forever home.  I do well with all other dogs (I do prefer the smaller ones) and would benefit from having a confident and social dog in my forever home to help me learn to trust and get on a routine.  Patience is the key as I continue to learn and build trust. I'm destined to become a wonderful companion, and with a little patience and love, I'll be the perfect addition to your family. I’m Beans & Rice…no, I’m not really food…that’s just my name! Hee, hee! I am a stunning albeit VERY shy & fearful young adult female Pomapoo. I enjoy chewing on rubbery things like bully sticks & Nyla bones, eating freeze dried chicken & liver treats, and when I think nobody’s watching me, I love to sneak around and explore everything! Hee, hee!! I have come a long way since joining my foster family and they are so proud of me! I have started to show interest in what they are doing and will occasionally wander into the kitchen to see what is cooking. Some would call me a foodie because I do love mealtime! I even let my people know with a little barking how excited I am at mealtime. I’m working on potty training and although I’m leash trained, I will need my new yard to be securely fenced to ensure my safety. I also know what “wait”, “outside”, and “go potty” mean so you can see I’m quite smart! I’m a quiet girl who has not met any cats or larger dogs and I’m fearful of loud noises, commotion, & people. In fact, although I’m good with kids, I’m fearful of people I don’t even like to be picked up until we get to know each other. I just don’t have a lot of experience with trusting people so having another dog in my forever home is important to show me how to trust people and get on a routine. That said, since coming to live with foster mom I have made, what I consider, a LOT of progress although VERY SLOWLY and on my own terms. I am most comfortable in my safe spot (dog bed) where I can observe the goings on around me. Foster mom was SO excited that I not only tried out the dog bed but love it! See…I’m making progress…It's the small things am I right!?! Anyway, I have also started to initiate play with my two small senior canine sibs, but it must be said that I’m not a fan of the puppy mom’s fostering. Additionally, I have tolerated foster mom putting harnesses that make that terrifying Velcro sound & cones on my neck; giving me oral liquid medications; bathing & brushing my beautiful coat; and trimming my nails…all of it!! So clearly, I’m trying diligently to conquer my fears because honestly, I want nothing more than to trust people and be comfortable in my world! I am a preciously sweet and timid girl who truly deserves unconditional love & security from a patient fur-ever family that not only promises to NEVER give up on me but who will give me the time & space I need. Yes, it may take quite a bit of time for me to be comfortable and learn to trust but I assure you not only am I worth it, but I will love you more than you could ever imagine!!!
