She’s potty trained, kennel trained, and knows a few commands, though she prefers to keep life interesting with her own quirky flair. Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. She launches into playtime with dramatic flair, wrestling the other dogs and flinging toys with the confidence of a pint-sized stunt double. After approximately seven minutes of high-energy chaos, she decides her shift is over and promptly drapes herself across your lap like a glamorous movie star collapsing onto a chaise lounge. She loves riding around in her sling carrier, snuggling into cozy blankets, and wearing adorable sweaters because her fur is still growing back after recovering from mange. Don’t worry, her skin is fully healed—she just needs time to grow her fluff, which only makes her even more irresistibly cute and slightly offended by cold weather. She’s sharp as a tack and slots herself into new routines the way a diva slips into a spotlight. Soleil adores her people so intensely that she has declared them valuable treasures and occasionally reminds the other dogs that these humans are, in fact, hers. She has improved so much with training and can now share the couch without starting a tiny dramatic production, though she very clearly communicates that she is doing so under protest. The good news is she doesn’t actually hurt the other dogs—she just uses her voice to lodge formal complaints. She’d be thrilled as an only dog but can live with others if her human doesn’t mind a little diva management. In the car she transforms into a perfect angel, curling up in her seat without a peep, as if she’s on a silent retreat. She sleeps all night in her crate like the world’s smallest, snuggliest dormitory resident and is fine being crated as long as she can see her favorite humans. She is potty trained but too tiny and too opinionated to be left loose for long stretches, or she will decide the rules no longer apply. This 5-pound cutie may be small, but he’s got a big personality waiting to shine once he feels safe. At first, Hartford can be shy and unsure of new people, dogs, and experiences—everything in the world just seems so big to a little guy like him! But once he trusts you, he blossoms into a playful, cuddly, goofy sweetheart who loves attention and affection. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello.  I’m a 13-pound Chiweenie with big eyes, a tiny body, and a heart that’s slowly learning to feel safe again.  When I first arrived, everything was scary—every sound, every sudden movement, every new person. Honestly, it still kind of is. But I’m starting to realize that there are kind hands, soft voices, and warm places to curl up and rest. My foster family has been incredibly patient, and thanks to them, I’m taking the tiniest steps toward trust. I’m about a year old and what you'd call a “sensitive soul.” I like mealtimes, I’ve accepted a few gentle head scratches, and I feel most secure when I have another calm dog nearby who understands me. I don’t bark much, I don’t chew on things I shouldn’t, and I don’t ask for much—just a quiet home, a little consistency, and the space to go at my own pace. Right now, I’m not leash-trained and need a fenced yard (I’m kind of a flight risk). I prefer to be carried outside and will go potty if I’m brought out on a schedule. I'm crate trained and do best in a calm, predictable environment. Loud noises, busy homes, or young kids? Probably not for me. But here's the thing—underneath all this fear, I am sweet. I am trying. Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. She launches into playtime with dramatic flair, wrestling the other dogs and flinging toys with the confidence of a pint-sized stunt double. After approximately seven minutes of high-energy chaos, she decides her shift is over and promptly drapes herself across your lap like a glamorous movie star collapsing onto a chaise lounge. She loves riding around in her sling carrier, snuggling into cozy blankets, and wearing adorable sweaters because her fur is still growing back after recovering from mange. Don’t worry, her skin is fully healed—she just needs time to grow her fluff, which only makes her even more irresistibly cute and slightly offended by cold weather. She’s sharp as a tack and slots herself into new routines the way a diva slips into a spotlight. Soleil adores her people so intensely that she has declared them valuable treasures and occasionally reminds the other dogs that these humans are, in fact, hers. She has improved so much with training and can now share the couch without starting a tiny dramatic production, though she very clearly communicates that she is doing so under protest. The good news is she doesn’t actually hurt the other dogs—she just uses her voice to lodge formal complaints. She’d be thrilled as an only dog but can live with others if her human doesn’t mind a little diva management. In the car she transforms into a perfect angel, curling up in her seat without a peep, as if she’s on a silent retreat. She sleeps all night in her crate like the world’s smallest, snuggliest dormitory resident and is fine being crated as long as she can see her favorite humans. She is potty trained but too tiny and too opinionated to be left loose for long stretches, or she will decide the rules no longer apply. Soleil loves cheese, liver treats, and every crinkly toy ever invented. She’s learning to walk nicely on a leash and would enjoy a fenced yard but doesn’t require one. Honestly, it still kind of is. But I’m starting to realize that there are kind hands, soft voices, and warm places to curl up and rest. My foster family has been incredibly patient, and thanks to them, I’m taking the tiniest steps toward trust. I’m about a year old and what you'd call a “sensitive soul.” I like mealtimes, I’ve accepted a few gentle head scratches, and I feel most secure when I have another calm dog nearby who understands me. I don’t bark much, I don’t chew on things I shouldn’t, and I don’t ask for much—just a quiet home, a little consistency, and the space to go at my own pace. Right now, I’m not leash-trained and need a fenced yard (I’m kind of a flight risk). I prefer to be carried outside and will go potty if I’m brought out on a schedule. I'm crate trained and do best in a calm, predictable environment. Loud noises, busy homes, or young kids? Probably not for me. But here's the thing—underneath all this fear, I am sweet. I am trying. I am learning that there are safe humans out there who don’t expect me to be perfect, just... present. So if you're patient, kind, and maybe a little quiet like me—and you have another dog who might be my gentle guide—I’d really love to meet you.
