Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I’m Dirk!  I’m a handsome scruffy guy who is looking for a family of my very own.  I came here from a shelter in Arkansas where I found myself when my owner passed away.  I wasn’t there too long before I came to MN where I found myself in a foster home.  It took me a bit to open up to my new foster.  I was sad and confused since I had lost my home and owner.  I was lucky though that I got to come here with my sister, Mateo.  I don’t need to be adopted with her, but if you have room in your heart I’d certainly love to be adopted with her.  When we meet I’m shy with new people and need a bit to warm up.  Once I trust you though then I’m a happy guy who loves neck scratches!  I lean into them and rub against your hand like a cat with the biggest smile while I dance in excitement.  I don’t care much about toys.  I do like to run with my doggie friends outside, but I don’t like when they get to wild.  That’s when I bark at them and tell them they need to chill out.  When I’m not out with my friends I can be found chilling out at my mom’s feet or sitting in her lap getting all the good pets.  I think I’d prefer a home that’s a bit more quiet with no little kids.  I just don’t enjoy being overwhelmed by their antics.  I’d love a fenced yard where I can sit and sunbathe, but if you don’t have one that’s ok too.  I am crate, leash, and potty trained, too (on a schedule at my foster home that is!). I’m not very into food and treats, but maybe my foster mama just hasn’t found the right ones yet.  I should also probably tell you that my back legs are pretty bowlegged.  The nice doctor said I was just born that way and that since they don’t bother me or give me any pain that they are ok.  Mama says I’m perfect and I couldn’t agree more! Grandma, the resident 'pawlice' of the household, loves to growl in her sleep, keeping everyone on high alert. Getting her eye meds administered requires a small army, as it takes two brave souls to wrangle this feisty furbaby because she acts like a wolverine on steroids. When it comes to walking, Grandma's approach can best be described as a stately hobble, as if she's performing a regal procession. Heaven forbid she's ever caught without her fashionable coat - the indignity would be too much to bear! Breakfast in bed is Grandma's favorite meal, and woe to the soul who dares to disturb her slumber. She's a lover of pets and cuddles, but don't be fooled - her mood can turn on a dime, and the growls and snaps come without warning. Grandma's preferred sleeping spot is under your pillow, where she can keep a watchful eye on her domain. Just be sure not to move a muscle, lest you risk squishing the delicate diva. When nature calls, Grandma will deign to be carried outside, but if you miss her subtle 'I gotta go' cues, she'll happily relieve herself right on the floor. This happy girl may be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up, she’ll be right by your side, eagerly begging for pets and scratches. Zoi has a special way of climbing up your leg to ask for affection, and her eyes sparkle with joy whenever you enter the room. She greets you with a wagging tail and, if you happen to overlook her, she’ll give a little bark to remind you to say hello! Zoi loves to play with her canine companions, showing no fear of dogs big or small. She playfully boops them with her nose and gives gentle hip bumps to invite them to join in the fun. In her kennel, she’s a model pup, and she's fully potty trained. Zoi enjoys cuddling in laps and snuggling up with her furry friends in bed. This little adventurer is mostly black and stands out with her playful spirit. Always ready for fun, she loves chasing after balls and has even tried to befriend the cats—though we think they might be a bit puzzled by her lively antics! With an affectionate nature, Miss Tea showers everyone around her with kisses, tail wags, and endless snuggles. She's quickly become a favorite among humans and animals alike. It's no wonder why everyone falls in love with these little bundles of joy!  I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. I mostly call him silly pet names, so I honestly don't know if he knows any particular name right now :) Because I work from home, I have spent a lot of time with this little guy. He is full of dog love! He is also guarded and nervous around new people. He requires patience and a home that lets the dog decide when he wants attention. He will bark at sounds, new visitors, squirrels in the yard, and other dogs, but as he is building some comfort, this behavior is beginning to subside. 1. He is a very playful dog. He loves to chase a ball and he loves tug of war. He definitely sounds aggressive when he plays, so it takes some time to learn his body language when he wants to play with you. 2. We go on a daily walk and he loves it. He still wants to run in the yard several times a day. I am learning that he is not a fan of rain and you have to go outside with him to encourage him to stay out long enough to go potty. I'm guessing the snow will be similar. He can be leery of new people putting on his leash, so it might take some time for that comfort level to come. I have been using a slip lead, so no collar, and that has been fine. 3. He is mostly trained to use the bathroom outside, but he definitely had some accidents in the first week or two that he was with me-probably nerves. He still has some #2 accidents on occasion (I think it is when I take too long to leave for the walk in the morning). 4. He is very sweet and affectionate and will require a good amount of attention. 5. I have never put him in a crate in my home, but he does sleep on his own in a dog bed through the night. He will also sleep with you if you let him. 6. He likes to chew on bones and even ice. He likes to be busy when he isn't sleeping. 7. I do not have another pet in my home, so I can't say for sure how he would do in a multiple pet situation. It seems like he could be playful with other dogs, but I think a slow, calm introduction might be required. As I understand, he has been around other dogs prior to living with me. I do not know anything about his history with cats nor have I encountered any cats since having him. 8. I feel that an adults only house will be best for him. Small children certainly won't be a good fit for him. It is possible that older kids in the house could be okay. Tiny still needs training and everyone in a home will need a vested interest in his training and success. A home with lots of people in and out and lots of activity will likely stress this guy out and lead to not his best behavior. 9. He seems to do okay on car rides. I haven't tested this too much, but I have had some amount of success on a couple of car trips. 10. He loves to run in a yard, but if you just are able to get him out for walks that will likely suffice. I suppose he will want space to run around the house without a yard though. 11. A single family dwelling without shared walls is probably best. An apartment with shared hallways would be tough on this guy and shared walls might be tough on your neighbors because he is definitely vocal at times. Tiny has a history that includes a scare with a harness, which left him apprehensive about leashes. For now, he needs a fenced yard to explore freely without the pressure of a leash. With patience and love, Tiny will reward your commitment with endless snuggles and affection. Tiny is a very special dog that needs a very special home. He is the absolute sweetest companion! I have seen such growth in him in a short period of time. As he learns to feel safe in an environment, he can and will thrive. Please know that he will need time and patience and maybe a little bit of forgiveness along the way.

My name is Little Bit. I'm from Alabama! From his foster: Little Bit is a one of a kind guy. At our home we have been calling him Herb - because he reminds us of an old man with his constant love for napping and food! Herb is a dog with seizures, so he requires 3 times a day medication. He has improved a little bit with the crate but still isn't great. He does well being out with no supervision! He has minimal accidents in the house but we put belly bands on him and he does amazing with those. Herb loves nothing more than to snuggle under the blankets with you any time of the day! I’m an 8-month-old Pomeranian puppy, weighing in at 12 pounds of fluff and personality. Life’s been a little overwhelming for me so far, but I’m making big strides every day—and I’m ready to find my forever family to keep cheering me on! When I first arrived, I was pretty timid and liked to hide in the back of my crate. But now, I’m getting curious and brave, especially during evening couch time when I love to join the doggy pile. I’m still figuring out new things, so I’ll need a fenced yard to help me explore safely until I’m ready to tackle leash training. I’m crate trained and will bark to let you know when I need to go potty, though I’m still working on being fully potty trained. Sometimes I bark at night or when I’m left alone, but a gentle “quiet” helps me settle down. I’ve discovered I love chewing on cow hooves and nylabones, and I’m getting better at accepting treats—yum! I’m also learning to play with toys and just started chasing a ball. I’m funny, animated, and getting more trusting every day. I’ve even started joining in with the other dogs in the house for activities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home.
