Story
Location: Minneapolis, MN Hi, I’m Carter! I may have started life out as a scrappy little stray, but it only took me two days to become a spoiled indoor pet. My absolute favorite thing to do is snuggle with my foster mom. But, I also have a lot of puppy energy, so I love to go on long walks, explore the the yard, and the neighborhood (when I can find a way through the fence), and jump. I can jump right over baby gates and low fences. I’m still learning about toys, but I prefer the ones that make crinkly sounds. I am mostly potty trained, but have been stubborn about learning commands. I don’t like being told what to do. I would much rather sleep in the big bed with my person, but I only cry for a couple of minutes in my kennel, which is where I stay when the people aren’t home. I’m fine with the resident dogs and even play with them occasionally, but I like being the center of attention, so sometimes the other dogs get annoyed. I am looking for someone with a warm lap and lots of belly rubs to give. Will that be you? --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Brisa loves the dog park & playing with her foster house mates-an older rat terrier and an American cat. She is a quick learner and redirects easily when she is caught chewing on a slipper or blanket. She is potty trained on a schedule & crate trained (may need a few minutes to settle down). When she gets home from playing, a nap is definitely in order! She would be a great cuddly companion and addition to your home! Adoption Fee: $525

Story
Meet Zoe, a Chihuahua born approx 3/7/2020. Zoe is a sweet girl who has had a lot of transitions in her life. She can be a little slow to warm up, but once she does, she is very cuddly. She has seemed to attach strongly to the mom of the house and does get anxious when she leaves, but eventually settles down. She’s been alone up to 6 hours, has been free floating around the house, and has not had any accidents or destroyed anything during that time. Zoe is house-trained, and scratches at the door when she needs to be let out. She is not kennel trained. She has been great with our 3.5 year old daughter. Initially she was respectful and a little afraid of our cat, but she has had a few instances of lashing out toward the cat, She has been great with our small dog, and has met other big dogs on leash and has reacted positively. She loves walks, and while she pulls sometimes, she is easily redirected. Zoe is a medium energy level. She loves running off-leash on our acreage, but can also curl up on the couch and be content. In the car Zoe wants to ride on your lap, but also does fine in the kennel during rides. Zoe is treat motivated, playful, and sweet and will make a great family dog for a very lucky family.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi there! My name is Ray. My foster family calls me RayRay when I am adorable and good and Raymond when I am adorable and not so good. I’m a little over 4 months old, and at my last check-up I weighed in at 14 lbs! I’m a Chihuahua Mix, but my foster mom thinks my dad had to be a bigger dog. I am still small, but I have long legs and a strong build.  I'm curious and love exploring, but also want to be wherever you are! You leave the room, I follow! Want to cook in the kitchen? I’d like a bed or blanket near your feet!  On the sofa or in a chair, let me be your personal space heater!  My favorite things to do are snuggling, playing fetch with tennis balls, zoomies (especially outside), belly pats, and chewing on my emotional support leek (dog toy).  I have a super chill resident sister dog. I like to try and play with her and steal her treats and food. She’s fine, but I definitely prefer my humans!  I’m very smart and very treat-driven when training. I already know sit and down, and will occasionally even do them!  And now my doggo FAQs:  Crate training:  The crate isn't my favorite place yet, but I calm down after a few minutes. I’m crated in the bedroom at nighttime so I can see my humans and in the living room if I am home alone during the day. Toofers: I am still teething, so I need things to chew on.  Housebreaking: Since I’m just a baby, I am still potty training. I do a great job of going outside if you keep me on a schedule. I just haven’t figured out how to ask to go outside yet. Most nights I sleep a good 7 hours in my crate before I need out. The Leash: I’m still working on leash walking. We haven’t went out much to keep me safe from those scary puppy viruses, and my potty breaks are in a fenced in yard right now.  Socialization:   I  very much like being the center of attention.    I have been socialized around younger kids but have been living in a quiet house with a teen and very mellow dog for the past month.  I’m little and a chihuahua, so sometimes I am scared of things. New people can be scary, but give me time and I will shine! Loud noises outside can be scary too. I do a great Chihuahua shake when scared or cold. I can let out a few barks here and there too. Traveling: Car rides aren’t my favorite, but I think that’s just because my foster mom is too cheap to get drive thru coffee, so no pup cups for me yet. I get scared, and I am quiet and like to be held, but also can travel in my crate.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Born in Early October 2025, meet the tiniest little spark plug you’ve ever seen! This small male pup may be pocket-sized, but he’s bursting with curiosity and spunk. He trots around like he owns the place, ready to investigate every squeaky toy, cozy blanket, and rustling leaf that crosses his path. He’s still working on his potty training, but he’s trying his best and learning more every day. In the meantime, he makes up for any little slip-ups with a wiggly tail, big bright eyes, and a personality that could melt concrete. If you’re looking for a fun, playful sidekick who will keep you laughing and fill your home with puppy excitement, this boy is ready to steal your heart the moment you meet him. Story
Hi, I’m Maggie. Im a 2 year old chihuahua mix! I came to mn from Mexico, where i was found living in a hole inside a rock mountain. When I got to mn my foster mom realized I was limping quite a bit. It then was determined by our vets that I needed a double back knee surgery as I had luxating patella in both my back knees. Don’t worry, my foster momma did all the hard work and I feel so much better now and am like a brand new dog!  Now for the fun part! I am such a joy to have around. At first I am not trusting of people but once I learn you wanna be my friend we can be best friends. I am goofy and will play with other dogs big or small but it may take me a few days to warm up to them. When I am in cuddle mode, I don’t like to share my space with other animals and may snap at them if they disturb my sleep. I love cuddles, I am the most cuddly girl ever especially with this thing called winter. I would rather curl up and cuddle with you under a blanket all day long. I am kennel trained and do really enjoy hanging in my kennel. I am for the most part potty trained, occasionally I have accidents here and there but 98% of the time I go outside. I sleep in bed curled up next to my foster momma all night long. As for cats they are fine, if they are more active cats I may try to play with them or chase them but I leave the more laid back cats alone. I will bark at new people coming into the house but will calm down and as long as they leave me alone they can stay. If they are too intrusive or in my face too much at our initial meeting I may growl. I never snap or bite though. I just need some extra time to learn new people are okay!  Anyways do you think you could be my forever home??  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
