Story
Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi! My name is Morty and I am from Minnesota. From his foster: When Morty first came to my house, he was a little timid regarding humans but immediately bonded with my 3-year-old pit bull, Marty. He's been here for about a month, and he has opened up a lot. He's not a lap dog that wants to snuggle but would rather walk around the house getting his steps while in (while making his signature old man noises) or curl up in a dog bed for a very deep sleep. It's Morty's world, we're just living in it. He does great in a crate. He doesn't know how to signal that he needs to go out, but as soon as you open the crate door, he runs to the backdoor. He uses a puppy pad in his crate, and I keep one in the house, that he's good about using. He really is just a sweet old man. From the Vet: Morty has been in rescue for a few weeks and has a few things we are in the process of handling for him. He needed a dental cleaning/surgery for fairly severe tartar and disease. He will be recovering from that over the next few weeks. He was recently diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease. This will require a life-long prescription kidney diet and bi-annual monitoring of kidney function with a primary care vet. All in all he is a happy senior that just needs a special place to call home and get all the love and care a senior pet deserves!

Meet Aiden – The Tiny Pup with a Giant Heart! Say hello to Aiden, a 4-month-old, 10-pound chihuahua mix with a personality as big as his ears! This little guy may be small in size, but he's bursting with love, curiosity, and playful energy. Whether he's chasing his favorite squeaky toy, snuggling up for a nap, or learning new tricks, Aiden is always ready to make you smile. Aiden is still a young pup, so he's looking for a home ready to help him grow into a confident and well-mannered companion. He's smart, eager to please, and already picking up on basic training. With patience and positive reinforcement, he'll be a superstar in no time. He does well with other dogs and would love a playmate—or he’d be just as happy soaking up all your attention as the center of your world. Aiden would thrive in a home that understands puppy needs and is ready for all the fun (and cuddles!) that come with raising a sweet, spunky pup. If you're looking for a loyal little buddy to share your days, Aiden might just be your perfect match. Apply now to meet him and fall in love! Farrah is a great little girl. She is friendly and affectionate and  would do great in most homes. She gets along with dogs well, would likely do ok with cats and kids. Farrah is just learning about life and hasn't barked much, so this little gal is a bit more on the quiet side. However, she is not a fan of her kennel. Farrah gets an A+ on potty training as she is wonderful at going outside when she needs to go to the bathroom. She is excited to find her furever home! If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. Hi there! My name is Fae and I’m currently accepting applications for my forever home and this ADORABLE underbite I have. Yup, it’s part of the package you lucky duck! I’m sure the cute face and underbite already sold you but let me tell you about myself to ensure we have a deeper connection. Before I came to my foster home, I was a Texas gal. I was rescued from a hoarded home (I know, I know. Not an ideal start to life.) with my tiny little puppy. I was an amazing Mom, and my pup is living her best life in her adoptive home so now it’s my turn! This challenging start to my life has led me to be a quirky girl but, uh, what chihuahua (mix) isn’t. Am I right?! It’s a little hard to brag about yourself on the internet so I asked my foster mom to describe me so I could include that here for you. She wanted me to tell potential adopters that even though I take a little bit to warm up, I am well worth it. I am so happy, fun, and full of life! I make her laugh every day. I am incredibly sweet and loving! She absolutely adores me. She also wanted me to mention that I make super cute talking noises when I’m excited. Ok, it’s Fae again. That’s all true. Meeting new people can be stressful for me due to my start in life. Don’t most of us have social anxiety nowadays, though? I just do some barking and maybe throw some hair up on my back until I know someone is cool. If you have a busy household with lots of people coming and going, that probably won’t be ideal for me. A home with small children would probably be overwhelming for me as well. I also prefer slower intros to other dogs, so I probably won’t ever be a dog park gal. Don’t worry though! I really, really love other dogs. I just need time to warm up to them. My foster parents have other dogs of all sizes, and I LOVE them all! They just made sure to take things slow and now they are all great friends that I love running around and playing with. I also provide routine dental care for other dogs. No, truly! I made sure foster mom attached a picture of me performing my services on one of her dogs. Oral hygiene is a bit of an obsession of mine so that requires some patience on the other dog’s part. Once a dog and I are friends, I don’t really follow any personal boundaries. *shrugs* Sleeping arrangements are pretty important to me so let’s get that out of the way early. Basically, I’m going to want to be under the blankets with you. Again, I’m a chihuahua mix. What did you expect? I just burrow under and sleep by your feet for most of the night! Cuddling level: expert. My foster parents are working on potty training with me since that isn’t something that I was ever taught! The good news is that I use potty pads well while working on this. More good news is that I love to be outside, so I’ll get there with some patience! Speaking of outside, my foster home has a fenced in yard and I really enjoy it. I walk well on a leash too, but I really enjoy being outside in the yard exploring and playing with toys and the other dogs. If you had a fenced in yard, that would be amazing! I also wanted to mention that I take security very seriously and will make sure to sound the alarm (bark) if there are suspicious things happening such as a UPS driver coming up the driveway, a pizza delivery driver trying to deliver your dinner or even another human coming home that lives here. Every day, my foster dad comes home from work and the second I hear the garage door opening, the barking and howling commences. You never know! It could be a stranger! You’re welcome. Anyway, due to my built-in alarm system, a home with shared walls probably isn’t a good idea. Ok, I’ll wrap this up so you can submit your application now. I’m ready to give all my love to my forever person/people. After my tough start and raising my pup, it’s time for me to be spoiled like I deserve! I am a bundle of fun and happiness and I hope to find my perfect fit soon! Story
Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi, I’m Twinkle! I know my name says Twinkle but I’ve been going by Twinks here at my foster home. I’m a 9-year-old Chihuahua with a sweet, gentle heart, and at just 6 pounds, I’m as tiny as I am loving. Let me share a little about myself so you can see why I might be the perfect addition to your family. I’ve been observing all the happenings here at the foster home.  I have to see who is having a good time and how they go about doing it.  I get along with the other dogs here but I’m pretty independent. I would thrive with another dog in my forever home. Another dog will help me learn to trust, give me confidence and help me get on a routine. I do adore pets and cuddles, also note that I can be shy and skittish in new situations. I will need some time to adjust in new places. And a little secret – I am afraid of men! Perhaps you can win me over, but as a senior I am a little set in my ways. My favorite spot is the little couch, where I love to relax and soak up all the attention. When you pet me, I’ll do a cute little happy dance—it’s my way of saying thank you for the love! I also enjoy hanging out with other dogs, even trying to snuggle up with them sometimes, so I’d love a home where I have a furry sibling or two. While I’m not big on toys, I do enjoy treats and will happily try most of what you offer. I’m working on my potty training and do well when taken outside regularly, but I still have the occasional accident indoors, so I’d need a patient family to help me keep improving. I am a barker however, so no shared walls unless you hate your neighbors – hee hee!  I’m a bit of a flight risk because new things can make me nervous, so I’ll need a fenced yard for my safety. I do know some commands like "Come" and "Outside," and I’ll enthusiastically welcome you home every time you walk through the door! Since I’m so tiny, my new family will need to watch me carefully—especially when I’m on the couch getting pets—because I might try to jump off, and I wouldn’t want to hurt myself. I also have a heart murmur, but that doesn’t stop me from spreading love wherever I go. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly senior companion who will adore you endlessly, I’m your girl! I’d do best in a calm home with another dog to keep me company and humans who’ll spoil me with love and care. Could I be your shining little Twinkle? Please  note that Underdog was not able to spay her due to her heart murmur and age* *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
