Once you earn his trust, Alvin is happy to lay beside you or play a game of fetch or tug of war with his plushies. He now loves his walks, and gets really excited about squirrels and rabbits. He's a little shadow that likes to be near his person. Now that he's gotten comfortable, Alvin has become more energetic and playful, and loves his plushies. Alvin is doing great with housetraining in his usual routine, though needs some time to adjust when in a new environment.

This adorable Chihuahua is full of personality and loves being involved in whatever her people are doing.   Allstar is a social girl who enjoys people, gets along well with other dogs, and couldn’t care less about cats. In fact, she would do best in a home with another friendly dog to play with and keep her company. She loves running around the yard, playing fetch with her favorite ball, and showing off her playful spirit.   Despite her energetic nature, Allstar has an excellent off-switch. She loves curling up in a warm lap and will happily snooze beside her favorite people. She currently sleeps in bed with her foster family and settles in for a solid seven hours each night.   Allstar walks nicely on a leash, is doing well with potty training when kept on a structured schedule, and is highly food motivated, making her a great candidate for continued training. She’s a smart little dog who responds very well to consistency, repetition, and clear boundaries. While she has plenty of enthusiasm, she accepts limits well and is eager to please.   She enjoys toys and balls, is generally a quiet dog, and has only occasionally barked at the neighbor’s Bernese Mountain Dogs. Allstar is gentle with other dogs and would love a canine companion who enjoys playing as much as she does.   She is leash trained but is still learning to feel comfortable in a crate, so her future family should be prepared to continue working on crate training. I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Welcome Draco to CCPAL foster program. Draco is a 3 year old 7 month old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund). He weighs about 9 pounds. He is very social and loves cuddles. He loves the good Samaritan that found him on the streets in the Texas snow storm. Draco is great with other dogs and we think his best home would be with another playful dog or a person that is home and would love to play ball, walk and cuddle Draco. He doesn’t dig or tear up anything in the house and he does his business outside. He will use a potty pad if it is too long for him to hold. He is an opportunist when a gate or door is open and will take that opportunity. He will stay behind a baby gate if there is one and his foster is also going to introduce him to a crate. Right now he is allowed partial free roam while she is away at work. He is super social and loving so he would be fine around children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is neutered, microchipped and will have all vaccines topped up before he leaves the Rescue. He likes strangers but will bark if someone is at the door. He is lower on the shed scale but he does shed. His arms curl around your hands when you pick him up. He really likes being held. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.
