Hi, my name is Barbie and I'm from Minnesota. From her foster: Meet our special girl Barbie a cuddle enthusiast and car ride champ who is a bit of an adventurer. (flight risk and fence jumper) She is house trained and is a great eater and whilst she loves other dogs she will throw in a little bark just to keep things in check if play gets rowdy. She would do well in an apartment she is quiet and low key but must have a female household where there is limited activity. Barbie also known as Crumbles needs to be in a women only household she is afraid of men and was returned from a previous adoption because she was scared of men living there. Walks well on a leash will make a great companion easy to manage best kept on a leash outside and double leashed especially in the first weeks whilst she is learning to trust you.

Hi, my name is Alvin and I am from Arkansas! From his foster: Alvin is a very sweet yet nervous boy. He is still learning to trust new people. Once you earn his trust, Alvin is happy to lay beside you or play a game of fetch or tug of war with his plushies. He now loves his walks, and gets really excited about squirrels and rabbits. He's a little shadow that likes to be near his person. Now that he's gotten comfortable, Alvin has become more energetic and playful, and loves his plushies. Alvin is doing great with housetraining in his usual routine, though needs some time to adjust when in a new environment.

Hi, my name is Knight, and I am from Missouri! From his foster: Knight is a sweet boy! He keeps his crate clean and is an expert at going outside- despite just learning about snow. He is a little shy at first, but good-natured. He likes running, toys, and my 12lb resident dog. He is friendly, if cautious, with new people and curious about cats. He is getting the hang of leash walking, rides well in the car, and likes to snuggle. He dislikes being in his crate and will be vocal while he settles down. After that he sleeps thru the night! He would like to go to a home that understands he is young and still learning- where he can get lots of exercise and attention.

Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200.
