Story
Hi! My name is Morty and I am from Minnesota. From his foster: As soon as I brought Morty home, he instantly attached himself to my pit bull Marty and follows him around everywhere. It took him a few days to get comfortable but he has since settled in well at my house. He gets along with both my dogs, does great in his crate, and really loves cheese. He could care less about sitting on your lap or snuggling up with you on the couch and seems to march to the beat of his own drum. He makes funny old dog sounds, which just adds to his personality. We've been working on potty training, as he doesn't know how to alert that he has to go outside and has had a few small accidents in the house, but goes every time he's outside (so I take him out often). When my dogs aren't around, he'll just curl up in a dog bed and sleeps hard. His little grey face is very good at melting hearts. He would probably do better in a home without small children, as it seems like he may have arthritis and you have to be considerate of how you pick him up.

Story
Hi, my name is Trixie. I am from Alabama. From their foster: Hi, I’m Trixie and I’m from Alabama! Trixie and Cricket are a bonded pair so they will need to be adopted together. Trixie and Cricket’s owner passed away and they were brought to the local shelter. Trixie and Cricket are truly a dream team! They are the kindest, most affectionate little companions. Wherever you are, there they’ll be! They are quick to settle into a warm lap or lay by your feet. Cuddles and naps are their favorite pastimes. They require little more than food, love and affection. Trixie and Cricket haven’t shown much interest in going outside in the cold Minnesota winter, but I could imagine them romping outside in the summer sunshine. They are very small and will need supervision outside so that they remain safe from predators. Trixie is a bit more outgoing and rambunctious than Cricket who is light on her feet and quiet as a ninja. Together they make a great pair and they both have friendly temperaments. They have both had a “glow-up” since joining their foster. Trixie way spayed, had an abscess removed on her cute little tail, and had a full dental cleaning that resulted in 24 decaying teeth being pulled. She is now happy as a clam with the 4 teeth she has left. I swear she has the ability to smile and has a little raccoon in her. Her foster calls her a little woodland critter! Cricket was spayed and had a small mammary mass removed at the same time. She was such a trouper and we were glad to find out that the mass was benign. Cricket is so delicate and gentle and there is nothing better than watching her prance around happily. Cricket and Trixie have been both enjoying wet dog food and are currently working on potty training using puppy pads since they do not enjoy the cold. They haven’t met any children, but seem to be good tempered and would probably do well with children who were gentle with them. They get along well with the dogs they have met, but are pretty tiny so they need to be careful when bigger dogs want to play. They haven’t met a cat yet. The ideal owner for Trixie and Cricket would be around the home-front a lot, maybe working from home or retired. They would be ready to give love to two beautiful and resilient little girls and deserve to live the good life. When you wake up in the morning to their sweet little kisses tickling your nose, you’ll surely ask yourself, “how’d I get so lucky?”

Story
I am looking for a foster or forever family! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can say YES to fostering this animal! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi! My name is Magnolia and I am from Arkansas. From her foster: Magnolia is a sweet little bundle of affection. In general, she's pretty quiet and calm. She gets a burst of energy here and there and will shake her stuffed animal or take off running down the hall. Otherwise, she's very happy to be sitting wherever you are, in your lap or alongside you. She's a great snuggle buddy at night, and likes to burrow under the covers. She thinks it's fun to use her ramp to get up on the couch and will hang out there if I'm working. She likes to go outside in her cozy coat and walk around to sniff and explore. She has been getting more experience being walked on a leash, but ideally a small little yard for her to romp around suits her needs. She is a bit cautious and shy, and needs a little reassurance when you reach down to pick her up. Most of all, Magnolia wants to be where you are, to snuggle and get scratches and all the love. She's adorable, easy to have around and is excellent company. She is working through separation anxiety and will bark when left unattended, so an ideal home would be one without shared walls with someone who predominantly works from home. Due to Magnolia's small size, she'd do best with older, considerate children who will take care to not trip over her, and to understand that she enjoys her peace & quiet, and is not too interested in playing. She coexisted well with her initial foster’s dog after a slow introduction, but is generally wary of unfamiliar dogs and people. Magnolia has separation anxiety and would do best in a home where her humans work from home / are retired / are around a large majority of the day. She loves her humans and does not like to be left alone. From the Vet: Magnolia has been in rescue while we have taken care of several of her most pressing medical issues. She needed 2 surgeries, 1 being full mouth extractions due to the severe dental disease. She has no problems eating and will live a much happier life without having to put up with her family taking care of her teeth regularly! She also had a knee surgery to repair an MPL (medial luxating patella) on the right side. She is recovering from this surgery well and expect that she can make a good recovery! As she ages, an adopter will want to monitor her eyes, arthritis and any new masses that present with a primary care veterinarian. She just needs a patient and quiet house to live out her life in comfort. If that sounds like you, we know Magnolia will be perfect for the right people!

When you wake up in the morning to their sweet little kisses tickling your nose, you’ll surely ask yourself, “how’d I get so lucky?” From the vet team: The vet team wants my future adopter to know that I have a grade 2/4 MPL (Medial patellar luxation). This is not causing me any issues at the moment so my future adopter should monitor with a primary vet. I recently had a mammary mass removed which came back as non-cancerous and a small mass on the top of my head evaluated. It is recommended my future adopters follow-up with my primary vet if it changes in size and monitor for any future mass development.

Story
Hi! My name is Goldy, and I am from Minnesota! Goldy is as good as they come! He's sweet, calm, cuddly, playful, dog friendly, people friendly and rarely barks. He's just as happy to go outside or for walks and meet other dogs as he is to cuddle up on the couch and watch TV. He sleeps in my office all day while I work from home and he sleeps in bed with me at night. He loves to go under the covers! We haven't done any crate training yet, so I'm not sure about that, and he seems a little anxious in the car, moves around a lot. He lifted his leg a few times his first day here, but since putting a belly band on him, he's only wet it once. I think soon he won't need it at all, especially once he gets fixed. He does need a dental pretty badly, and may lose some more teeth. He doesn't seem to be food motivated, but that may be due to tooth pain. He seems reactive towards men, so a female only home would be best. I could see him being an only dog or live with multiple dogs as playmates. I haven't seen how he is around kids, but judging by what I've seen already, I think he'd be fine. He's a true gem! From the Vet: Goldy was seen recently with a TBB veterinary partner and has already had a dental and neuter procedure performed where he had all of his remaining teeth extracted. Dogs without any teeth do surprisingly well and eating kibble normally, but his future family could consider soaking kibble if that seems better for him. During that procedure the veterinarian noted an open oral nasal fistula that was unable to be repaired due to the chronic dental disease. ONF's may cause some upper respiratory symptoms so Goldy should be monitored for this routinely in the future. Goldy was also evaluated for an injury to his left knee that will need orthopedic surgery. TBB is working with our surgery partners to get this scheduled for May 15th. TBB would agree to cover the MPL surgery +/- 1 recheck and any medications associated with those appointments. Post op recovery and activity restriction is recommended for about 8-12 weeks post op, so his future home should be comfortable with these medical needs.

Story
Hi! My name is Felix and I am from Alabama. I am about 4 years old and 9 lbs. Sadly, my human passed away :( I am used to living with several other chihuahua friends, and we got along great with each other! I am sad about my human, but I know there's a family out there ready to welcome me into their heart, I can just feel it! Can you help me find them? From his foster: Everyone who meets this guy refers to him as 'Sweet Felix'. He really is a honey. Felix is an easy going guy who is curious and friendly. He knows to potty outside and it looks like he is also potty pad trained. He likes sitting on laps or sitting on the couch. He can be vocal which may not be appreciated by neighbors with shared walls. Due to his small size, an adult only home would be best. From the Vet:
