Story
Meet Drey, the most adorable bundle of joy just waiting to become your new best friend! While he may take a little time to warm up, once he does, you'll discover the sweetest little guy you could ever imagine. Drey's past is a bit of a mystery, and we can only guess at what might have caused his initial hesitation around new people. It's heartbreaking to think about what he might have experienced, especially considering he had a tough encounter with animal control who had to use a catch pole to rescue him. That experience likely added to his trauma. But here's the good news: Drey is making fantastic progress! He's already crate trained and is doing wonderfully on a leash. We're still working on getting him to go potty while on a leash, as he's more comfortable doing his business in our securely fenced 6-foot wood yard. When he needs to go, he'll politely let you know with a few barks or howls. Drey has a playful side that's simply irresistible. He absolutely adores toys, and watching him play with them is an absolute delight! In our commitment to find the best possible homes for our animals, we believe there are a couple of key factors that will help Drey thrive: no young human kiddos in the household and a fenced-in yard. These conditions will set Drey up for success and happiness in his new home. Don't let his initial shyness deter you – Drey is a hidden gem waiting to shine in a loving and patient forever home. If you're ready to welcome this sweet nugget into your life, please get in touch with us. Drey is ready to embark on a new journey filled with love and happiness, and you could be the one to make it happen! While Drey does live with other dogs, he does not have any interest in playing or interactin with them.  He is a loner when it comes to the canines! The perfect home for Drey would be one where there weren't alot of people coming and going as well as his person / people being home more than they are away. If you are looking for a sweet, cuddly, companion and you are an adult with a quiet home that doens't have shared walls ( Drey is a bit of a barker from time to time especially when he meets new people and new dogs ) he would love to meet you! ##1749222##

Story
Hey there, everyone! Hannah here, but you can call me Bug—I've earned that nickname with my adorable face and charming personality! Despite my petite size, I've got a big heart and an even bigger love for snuggling up with my humans. Napping? Oh, you bet that's one of my favorite pastimes! There's nothing quite like curling up in a cozy spot and drifting off to dreamland. And when it comes to snuggles, well, let's just say I'm a pro. I'll melt right into your arms and shower you with all the love and affection you could ever want. Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room—I'm not exactly a fan of other dogs. They're just not my cup of tea. That said, I wouldn't mind being the sole recipient of all your love and attention. After all, who doesn't love being spoiled rotten? I'll admit, I can be a bit cautious when meeting new people. It's just my way of sizing things up and making sure everything's on the up and up. But don't worry, once I get to know you, I'll be wagging my tail and showering you with kisses in no time. So, if you're on the lookout for a pint-sized companion who's equal parts cuddly and cute, look no further! I'm ready to be your loyal sidekick, filling your days with joy, laughter, and plenty of snuggles. Let's make some memories together—what do you say? ##1954337##

Story
Oh hi there! Would you like some kisses? I give them out for free! Oh my goodness where are my manners… I’m Taeya, or TeeTee, and I’d love to be your best friend! I’m a top 10 cuddler, excellent hugger, and pro licker – need I say more?! I’m the type of dog who loves to be with my humans the most, but if there are squeaky toys around I’ll entertain myself with those for hours. I am kind of a little bossy with other animals… I don’t like cats and dogs who come on strong, so slow intros are best, and fully expect that it’ll be a few weeks before I’m not so cranky with them. I’ve met children and love them just as much as the big humans because they seem to love my kisses a lot. I’m a quiet dog for the most part so I totally can live in an apartment, I only growl and bark a little bit when I hear strange noises outside, or sometimes when other dogs start woofing it up. I’m pretty good on potty training, I have had a few accidents here and there when foster mom got distracted so not my fault! I keep my crate clean and will sleep in there overnight if you’d like, but I love sleeping with you under the covers. My fur is so short that I really like wearing sweaters, I do get cold easily. I’m a happy girl really! At 5 years young I still have plenty of pep in my step, and I’m totally ready to paint the town with you, snuggle up under a blanket on the couch, or toss around some toys while you clean up after me  so lets do this thing and live like there’s no tomorrow together! ##1979721##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi I'm Buzz!  I'm a happy little guy looking for my perfect family.  I enjoy playing outside and running in the grass enjoying the sun and wind in my face.  If you're my person I get happy wiggles and enjoy scratches and pets.  With new people I can be a bit quirky.  If I don't know you I ask that you give me a moment to know you're safe.  I'll admit I'm better with women than men.  If I'm pushed too quick I sometimes mouth you.  It's not a bite and I leave no mark whatsoever but your hand or finger is in my mouth for just a moment. I do ok with slow intros with calm dogs that ignore me but I would love to be an only dog so I don't have to share your love.  I'd likely be best in a home without kids.  I'm sure you're kids are great but I don't think they're for me.  I love walks and I know how to potty on leash or in a fenced yard if you have it.  I'm kennel trained and doing well on potty training.  I just need a patient family who will love me and give me a chance and you'll see what a great dog I really am.  Are you my perfect match? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.       ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 6/4/22 Requires another dog in home: Yes, required Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Yes Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Weight: 12 lbs Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, needs a fenced yard Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Elmo. I’m an incredibly precious young adult male Chiweenie with a lot of puppy-like energy! I am a smart boy who knows commands like “leave it” and “go potty” but I’m very timid and afraid of things like loud noises, commotion, children, and most people in general! Additionally, I do not like the crate and will yell if I’m in there; I will poo outside, but I wear a belly band inside; and I have limited leash experience because I can’t seem to stop myself from showing off my inner Houdini by wriggling out of my leash and harness. I am, however, always respectful of cats and good with other dogs so I will need a doggie companion when I go to my new home. All that said, once my humans have earned my trust, I am the sweetest, most affectionate little guy you will EVER meet! I am also very playful, and I LOVE to chew and run! That means that not only does my new family need to get the toy box ready with lots of chew toys, squeakers, and bones, but my new yard will need to be securely fenced so I can safely demonstrate my amazing ‘zoomie’ techniques! But most of all…my new family should get ready for cuddles because this guy LUUUVVVVS me some bed snuggles at night!!! I may be little, but my heart is bigger than the universe and it’s full of lovable sweetness that I dream of sharing with a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family who promises to NEVER give up on me. Please welcome me into your life and I promise that I will love you more than you could EVER possibly imagine!! Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hey there, future family my name is Tater! I'm the furry bundle of joy they call me, and I'm ready to charm my way into your heart. I'm a little dude, weighing in at 11-12 lbs, and I'm just a young pup, still exploring this big world under 6 months old. Now, I've had my fair share of battles, including a tussle with Parvo, but I fought hard and came out on top, happy and healthy in just two days. That's the spirit! At home, I'm your typical puppy—happy, playful, and energetic. I love a good wrestle with my puppy pals, and chewing on sticks is a personal favorite pastime. Sometimes, I'm so full of energy that I won't let my siblings get their beauty sleep at night—I've got playtime to finish! When it comes to meeting new friends, I'm a champ. Polite introductions, respect but no fear—I've got it down. And hey, I'm a clever one—I figured out how to navigate the doggie door to get to the backyard. I use steps like a pro to climb on beds and couches, and I'm a real ice cube enthusiast. Just whistle, and I'll come running for some play and potty time. Now, let's talk about the necessities. Potty training? Almost there. I usually do my business outside, but I might not always signal when I need to go. Crate training? Well, I'm cool with it, but having some siblings around for company is always a plus. Leash training is a work in progress, but I'm confident I'll master it. And guess what? I get along just fine with dogs of all sizes. In fact, my energy level just calls for a playmate, whether it's another dog or, who knows, maybe you! So, if you're looking for a little guy with a cute fuzzy beard, grinch-like feet, and a knack for melting into your arms, look no further. I'm your guy, ready to bring endless joy and playfulness into your home. *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.
