Snuggles are her specialty, and she’ll happily curl up beside you whenever she gets the chance. She does well with dogs her size and respects cats, though bigger pups can be a bit intimidating for her. Monarch is still working on her training—commands like sit, come, and leave it—but she’s a quick learner who loves praise. She’s also a bit of a barker, so continued guidance will help her learn when to use her voice. When it comes to grooming, Monarch doesn’t mind being brushed, though nail trims are still a work in progress. With her gentle spirit, eagerness to learn, and love for snuggles, Monarch is ready to find a family who will continue her training, build her confidence, and give her the love she deserves.

Hi, my name is Alvin and I am from Arkansas! From his foster: Alvin is a very sweet yet nervous boy. He is still learning to trust new people. Once you earn his trust, Alvin is happy to lay beside you or play a game of fetch or tug of war with his plushies. He now loves his walks, and gets really excited about squirrels and rabbits. He's a little shadow that likes to be near his person. Now that he's gotten comfortable, Alvin has become more energetic and playful, and loves his plushies. Alvin is doing great with housetraining in his usual routine, though needs some time to adjust when in a new environment. From the Vet: Alvin has had a dental surgery while in rescue, so he will have a healthy mouth for his new family!

Hi, my name is Bart! From his foster: Bart is an affectionate little snuggle bug who spends most of his day cuddled next to whichever person in our family happens to be sitting on the couch. He really likes his people and will follow us from room to room. Bart is OK, but not great, with other dogs. He's a bit of a brat and doesn't always want to share his people with other pups. That being said, we haven't had any big problems. He would just most likely be happier as an only dog. We are working on his house training. He does well when it's warm enough outside for him to spend some quality time in the yard. On cold days, he's had a few accidents. (We are sure he will get it soon!) Bart is not much of a barker. He would probably be a very good apartment dog.

Hi, my name is Rasta! From her foster: Rasta is such a happy dog! Her characteristics are spot on with her assumed breed: lively, alert, and determined as well as cuddly, affectionate and loyal. She is very athletic and loves running after squirrels and rabbits! Such a great little package! A few things to consider: she is still working on potty training but is 90% there. Having a resident dog(s) to show her why we’re outside helps! She is a watch dog with a bark and a cute whimper. We are working on timing. She is an equal opportunity lover…no fear of men or other dogs. She is briefly kenneled during the day but would much rather be with people. She is not kenneled at night and loves sleeping in her dog bed…on the bed. Lastly, she also loves her toys and chew bones. When she’s done running and playing, she is the best little cuddler. She is an active dog and needs exercise. Agility training would be right up her alley! Strong prey drive. Not sure about cats.

She’s equal parts sweetheart and sass, a young dog who thrives on love, patience, and plenty of playtime. While she can be cautious with new people and may announce her feelings with barks or growls, Daphne’s true magic shines once trust is built—then she transforms into a loyal, goofy best friend. Her favorite activities include sprinting around the yard like a tiny rocket, chasing squirrels with Olympic-level determination, burrowing under blankets for cozy naps, and testing out tough chew toys. She’s potty trained, kennel trained, and knows a few commands, though she prefers to keep life interesting with her own quirky flair. Daphne is searching for an active, adult-only home where she can be the star of the show. She would love an owner who enjoys walks, hikes, or runs and who can give her the attention she craves. A fenced yard is a must for this energetic girl, and while she can live with another dog, she’s just as happy being the solo star as long as she gets plenty of love. She’s ready to shine in the right home—one that understands her quirks and celebrates her playful spirit. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
