I need a temp foster from 6/26-7/6. Email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can help with one or both of these temp foster needs! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi! My name is Morty and I am from Minnesota. From his foster: When Morty first came to my house, he was a little timid regarding humans but immediately bonded with my 3-year-old pit bull, Marty. He's been here for about a month, and he has opened up a lot. He's not a lap dog that wants to snuggle but would rather walk around the house getting his steps while in (while making his signature old man noises) or curl up in a dog bed for a very deep sleep. It's Morty's world, we're just living in it. He does great in a crate. He doesn't know how to signal that he needs to go out, but as soon as you open the crate door, he runs to the backdoor. He uses a puppy pad in his crate, and I keep one in the house, that he's good about using. He really is just a sweet old man. From the Vet: Morty has been in rescue for a few weeks and has a few things we are in the process of handling for him. He needed a dental cleaning/surgery for fairly severe tartar and disease. He will be recovering from that over the next few weeks. He was recently diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease. This will require a life-long prescription kidney diet and bi-annual monitoring of kidney function with a primary care vet. All in all he is a happy senior that just needs a special place to call home and get all the love and care a senior pet deserves!

Story
Hi! My name is Cora and I am from Alabama. From the foster. Cora is a sweet affectionate older little lady. She loves to lounge around in her favorite dog bed or sit with her foster momma. Cora loves most people and does well with the resident dogs. There are no kids in her foster home and because of her chronic pain and care needed when lifting and carrying her, we are recommending an an adult home or home with older considerate children. Cora is working on using potty pads in the house. She does have occasional potty accidents. This seems to be related to her age and chronic pain. She has not been willing to potty outside much. When it comes to kennel training, Cora is not a fan of her kennel and likes to sleep in bed with her person. She has not gone on walks because of her chronic pain but she does enjoy time in the back yard with her person. From the Vet: 10 year old Cora is on the lookout for a loving quiet home to settle into to be loved and spoiled during her golden years. She has a history of allergies that had caused some severe skin issues prior to her arrival into our rescue. With some allergy medications and supportive skin supplements her skin is greatly improved! She has some generalized stiffness and pain associated with arthritis and disk disease, but we are keeping her on an NSAID presumably life-long. The BB is in the process of scheduling a dental procedure for Cora, but good news she can still go home with an adopter prior to surgery to get settled into her forever home.

Story
Hi! My name is Magnolia and I am from Arkansas. From her foster: Magnolia is a sweet little bundle of affection. In general, she's pretty quiet and calm. She gets a burst of energy here and there and will shake her stuffed animal or take off running down the hall. Otherwise, she's very happy to be sitting wherever you are, in your lap or alongside you. She's a great snuggle buddy at night, and likes to burrow under the covers. She thinks it's fun to use her ramp to get up on the couch and will hang out there if I'm working. She likes to go outside in her cozy coat and walk around to sniff and explore. She has been getting more experience being walked on a leash, but ideally a small little yard for her to romp around suits her needs. She is a bit cautious and shy, and needs a little reassurance when you reach down to pick her up. Most of all, Magnolia wants to be where you are, to snuggle and get scratches and all the love. She's adorable, easy to have around and is excellent company. She is working through separation anxiety and will bark when left unattended, so an ideal home would be one without shared walls with someone who predominantly works from home. Due to Magnolia's small size, she'd do best with older, considerate children who will take care to not trip over her, and to understand that she enjoys her peace & quiet, and is not too interested in playing. She coexisted well with her initial foster’s dog after a slow introduction, but is generally wary of unfamiliar dogs and people. Magnolia has separation anxiety and would do best in a home where her humans work from home / are retired / are around a large majority of the day. She loves her humans and does not like to be left alone. From the Vet: Magnolia has been in rescue while we have taken care of several of her most pressing medical issues. She needed 2 surgeries, 1 being full mouth extractions due to the severe dental disease. She has no problems eating and will live a much happier life without having to put up with her family taking care of her teeth regularly! She also had a knee surgery to repair an MPL (medial luxating patella) on the right side. She is recovering from this surgery well and expect that she can make a good recovery! As she ages, an adopter will want to monitor her eyes, arthritis and any new masses that present with a primary care veterinarian. She just needs a patient and quiet house to live out her life in comfort. If that sounds like you, we know Magnolia will be perfect for the right people!

Story
Hi! My name is Goldy, and I am from Minnesota! From his foster: Goldy is as good as they come! He's sweet, calm, cuddly, playful, dog friendly, people friendly and rarely barks. He's just as happy to go outside or for walks and meet other dogs as he is to cuddle up on the couch and watch TV. He lives for belly rubs! He sleeps in my office all day while I work from home and he sleeps in bed with me at night. He loves to go under the covers! He seems to be completely house trained! We haven't done any crate training yet, so I'm not sure about that, and he's pretty anxious in the car so we're doing some training there. He also seems to be reactive/aggressive towards men, so at this point I’d say he needs a female only household. I could see him being an only dog or live with multiple dogs as playmates. I haven't seen how he is around kids, but judging by what I've seen already, I think he'd be fine. He's a true gem! From the Vet: Goldy was seen recently with a TBB veterinary partner and has already had a dental and neuter procedure performed where he had all of his remaining teeth extracted. Dogs without any teeth do surprisingly well and eating kibble normally, but his future family could consider soaking kibble if that seems better for him. During that procedure the veterinarian noted an open oral nasal fistula that was unable to be repaired due to the chronic dental disease. ONF's may cause some upper respiratory symptoms so Goldy should be monitored for this routinely in the future. Goldy was also evaluated for an injury to his left knee that will need orthopedic surgery. TBB is working with our surgery partners to get this scheduled for May 15th. TBB would agree to cover the MPL surgery +/- 1 recheck and any medications associated with those appointments. Post op recovery and activity restriction is recommended for about 8-12 weeks post op, so his future home should be comfortable with these medical needs.

This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. Meet Aiden – The Tiny Pup with a Giant Heart! Say hello to Aiden, a 3-month-old, 10-pound chihuahua mix with a personality as big as his ears! This little guy may be small in size, but he's bursting with love, curiosity, and playful energy. Whether he's chasing his favorite squeaky toy, snuggling up for a nap, or learning new tricks, Aiden is always ready to make you smile. Aiden is still a young pup, so he's looking for a home ready to help him grow into a confident and well-mannered companion. He's smart, eager to please, and already picking up on basic training. With patience and positive reinforcement, he'll be a superstar in no time. He does well with other dogs and would love a playmate—or he’d be just as happy soaking up all your attention as the center of your world. Aiden would thrive in a home that understands puppy needs and is ready for all the fun (and cuddles!) that come with raising a sweet, spunky pup. If you're looking for a loyal little buddy to share your days, Aiden might just be your perfect match. Apply now to meet him and fall in love! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi!  I'm Dorito, a gentle soul looking for my forever home! I may be a bit shy at first, but I am making progress every day. My foster family has been teaching me all about the joys of indoor living, which is pretty new to me. While I am still figuring out this whole being a pet thing, I have so much love to give to the right family. One of my favorite activities is lounging by the window in my cozy bed, keeping an eye on the neighborhood happenings. When the weather is nice and warm, you can find me soaking up the sunshine outside on my lead.  I've learned it is pawsome and now think of it as one of my simple pleasures in life! I am a little jumpy around unexpected noises and sudden movements, but please don't take it personally.  I am just learning that the world isn't such a scary place after all.  Although I don't necessarily need another fur sibling in my furever home, I am most comfortable when I am around other dogs.  They are like my own emotional support system and I'm learning so much from them.  Having a furry friend around would definitely help me come out of my shell faster.   I am almost potty trained when I can be kept on a good schedule.  I am also crate trained too, isn't that cool?  I'm still working on the leash thing as it can be a bit scary.  Sometimes I freeze on it, but I do keep practicing and am getting a little bit better every day.  Because of this I don't need a fenced yard as long as we can do walkies.  I am not much of a barker, except when I want to come back inside the house. I like human kids, but have not been around any kitties yet.   While I might not be the type to jump in your lap right away, I do enjoy snuggling when my humans initiate the contact. Sometimes I shake a little, but I calm right down when wrapped in warm covers or held in caring arms. I am a very low maintenance and promise, with patience and love, I will keep blossoming.  If you're looking for a gentle, quiet companion who likes to be in the same room as you, and who will keep watch over your neighborhood I may just be the perfect match.  I'd love to meet you!   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
