Story
Woof! Chester here but let's be clear: I wasn't named after Gunsmoke's Marshall Dillon's sidekick Chester, who had a pronounced limp. My all fours are just fine, even though I'm middle-aged at seven years. I'm an indoor dog who luvs humans and anything chewy. I still exhibit puppy behavior such as high energy, intelligence, and luv when balls and tug ropes litter the landscape. In between frenzies of play, let's enjoy a cuddlethon- pet me all over my 54-pound bod- before I zone out in my crate or hopefully, your bed. My previous owners mentioned I'm like Velcro- want to be glued to your side all the time. Before I was put up for adoption, the pawsome medical folks here treated me for an anal glands issue but all is OK now with my butt. Not a fan of thunderstorms but the rainy season is winding down so we'll deal with that next summer. So I'm waiting for you to stop by spcaflorida so we can get to know each other.

Story
I'm sure you'll luv Lucy, that's me, a year-old hound dog whose owners could no longer care for me. Wanna take a dip in the pool with me? I'm somewhat standoffish at first but once my shy nature is shed, I'll express my appreciation by wagging my tail when you give me my fave treat, Milk Bones. I'm lovable and prefer women as furever humans. Balls and tug ropes are toys that will defuse my high energy. If we play outside, don't tempt me to bolt by leaving the door open. There's a whole world I want to explore but I wanna have you along for the ride. In between my urge to discover, you can pet me anywhere before I snooze in my comfy bed. I realize strangers are simply friends I haven't met yet so please be patient while I get to know you. So now I'm waiting for you to stop by and bribe me with Milk Bones before you sign on the cyber line to adopt me. Woof!

Story
I know, I know. My name Simba, is Swahili for "lion." While I don't have the shape or markings of the king of beasts, I do have the edge when it comes to living with humans. I luv water so if you have a pond, pool or garden hose, I'm there. I have the oomph to splash around and play in water. So, unlike many canines, I'll bond with you at bath time. Farm critters and I don't see eye to eye but felines are OK, but not as roomies. Please let me be your one and only four-footed dog and I'll be your loyal protector. It's been said my legs are like pogo sticks since I'm an accomplished fence scaler. Just sayin'. It takes me time to warm up to strangers. I hide until I feel comfortable with them. I luv to talk so let's have a one-on-one to get acquainted. Let's arrange a playdate before you adopt me into my furever home. See you soon!

Story
Take a gander at my photos. What you see is what you get, a 40-pound fur baby who wants to cuddle after a swim (please help me get dry before I plop next to you!). My most beautiful feature: my dark brown eyes that look like they're surrounded by mascara. So I'm a girly girl who needs to be your one and only fur baby. The getting-to-know-you phase make take time but we can transition by letting me demonstrate how I can execute basic commands. Balls and chew toys will thaw my shyness. My previous owner couldn't devote time to my care but if you can spend oodles of hours with me. I'll be your BFF forever. Please visit but ideally, not during a thunderstorm. Soon the rainy season will be history so no worries. I'll luv to see you soon.

Story
Say hello to Maverick, a handsome Siberian Husky Mix looking for an active family to enjoy life with. He resembles an old man with his white fuzzy face and eyebrows. But at 3-years-old, he's far from retired and will need an active family to keep up with him. He's not competing in a snowy dogsled race in Florida but would like to stay busy with tons of activity and exercise. Maverick is a big dog at 74 pounds and has a mouthy and rough play style so kids in the home should be aged 13+. He has a habit of chewing his leash so walking with a metal one is recommended. He will need additional training to help him become a great family pet. If you're ready to provide Maverick with the care and patience he deserves, come visit him at SPCA Florida!

Story
"Buongiorno!" That's Italian for "good day." I'm Lambo, short for Lamborghini, the luxury sports car that can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds. Unlike my namesake, I require no gas or oil, and the payback is lots of luv, which has no price tag. At the moment I'm parked at spcaflorida's large dog kennel and looking for a human with wheels to drive me to my furever home. Playful, affectionate, and cuddly describe me accurately. Fill my toy box with soft, stuffed animals and I'll luv them as much as I luv my humans. My human family tree should consist of only adults. You can pet me all over and I'll be ecstatic and snuggly or I'm happy to just lay at your feet and enjoy the sunshine. Full disclosure: I'm afraid of vacuum cleaners, thunderstorms and young 'uns. I've been treated for heartworms but no worries anymore!
