Story
Una arrived from Ireland on April 22nd. She is a loving, quiet and gentle girl. She loves being groomed and is great for nail trims. She is already house trained and is very friendly. Una gets along great with children and does well with dogs of all sizes. She loves being petted and is a sweet, and easy going girl who loves squeaky toys. She also loves to collect things (shoes, blankets,) but doesn't tear them up--just snuggles with them. Una has Pannus in her eyes and will need eye drops throughout her life to manage it. This is an easy procedure and dogs with pannus live long, healthy lives when they are medicated. Una is a very adaptable girl who will be sited to a wide variety of homes. Unflappable and chilled, she would love a forever home where she could get cuddles and lots of love. Una has been chosen for our prison training program, where she will be taught all of her basic commands (heel, sit, lie down, stay, wait, leave it, etc.) For information on Una, please call 813-935-3247 or e-mail. For information on the prison training program, please go to our website, www.bayareagreyhounds.org, and click on Prison Trained Greyhounds. Una will graduate and be ready to go home with you in July.

Story
ADOPTION PENDING: Guinness arrived from Ireland on February 18th. His racing name was Bit View Bobby. He is a handsome, bright boy who is quiet, very easy going, and well behaved. He has the cutest ears--one folds forward and the other is upright. He walks very nicely on a lead and would love a home where he could go for daily walks around the neighborhood, or where he would have a fenced yard for quiet time and play. He loves to be out and about, and loves his people . He is curious and enjoys exploring the world around him. He gets along well with other dogs, both large and small, enjoys being groomed and made over and loves to travel in the car. He stood quietly for his bath and is an all around good dog. In Ireland,, bobby competed in 23 races and won 9 times, so he was a Grade A racer. He has a slight limp at a trot from an old racing injury. but is otherwise sound. The limp does not bother him at all, He loves to explore the yard in his foster home, is good with older, polite children. He would do well with a family and is laid back enough for an elderly couple. Guinness is the perfect, quiet, laid back, and sweet dog. It is difficult to believe he was such a good racer and in retirement is so mellow. He has been chosen for our prison training program at Central Florida Reception Center in Orlando. While there, he will be taught all of his basic commands and will be fully trained when you take him home. Guinness will graduate and be ready to go home with you on around May 10th. For more information on the prison training program, please check our website, www.bayareagreyhounds.org and click on Prison Trained Greyhounds.

ADOPTION PENDING--Molly arrived from Ireland on February 18th. She is a smaller greyhound girl and is very sweet. She can be a little timid until she gets to know you and then her playful and loving side will shine through. She is very easy going and loves to lounge about and be a typical couch potato greyhound. She loves a good snuggle--one of her favorite things. Molly gets along well with other dogs, travels well in the car and is just a lovely girl. Her ideal home would be one with an easy going lifestyle and where her people would provide her with plenty of reassurance to help her to become the sweet, friendly, and happy dog she is. Once she learns to trust you, it's impossible to find a more loyal and loving friend. Molly has been chosen for our greyhound training program at Central Florida Reception Center in Orlando. When she graduates around May 10th, she will know all of her basic commands. We will be glad to show Molly to you before she goes into training. For more information on the prison training program, please check on our website, www.bayareagreyhounds.org under Prison trained Greyhounds.

ADOPTION PENDING--Lacken arrived from Ireland and is a sleek black.. tall, dark, and handsome. He loves his walks, is curious about the world, and is always ready to explore. Lacken would do best in a quiet home.. We suggest older children for greyhounds since greyhounds have not been raised with children. He would also do well as an only dog or with another greyhound companion. .Lacken is very quiet in the house and has not barked at all. He just wants somewhere he can relax and enjoy his retirement. He will be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal friend to share their days with. He is a wonderful, quiet and sweet greyhound. Lacken's racing name was "Lacken Orders". He competed in 45 races at the Mullinger, Dundalk and Glalway tracks in Ireland, and won 6 times, with 7 other seconds, so he was a successful racer. He is now enjoying his retirement, and has been chosen for our prison training program where he will learn all of his basic commands, so he will be fully trained when you take him home..
