Story
Meet Phoenix 🐾 Phoenix’s name says it all. Found just under a year old, he had already endured more than any dog ever should. He was discovered locked in a small room, surrounded by garbage with barely enough space to move. Left alone for at least three weeks, Phoenix was emaciated, terrified, and unsure of the world around him. With patients, care and dedicated veterinary support, Phoenix slowly regained his health and his spirit. As he began to feel safe, his true personality emerged, and what a beautiful soul it is. Phoenix has blossomed into an absolute love bug who thrives on affection and human companionship. Now in a foster home, Phoenix continues to shine. He is potty trained, highly food-motivated, and eager to learn. His favorite activity is simply relaxing on the couch with his people, soaking up love and reassurance. He does well with children and is gentle and affectionate with those he trusts. Phoenix coexists well with cats who respect his space, though he may become a little defensive if they wander into his sleeping area—something his foster family is helping him navigate. With proper introductions, he has great potential to do well with other dogs too. Phoenix is living proof of resilience. He’s overcome heartbreak and hardship and is ready for a forever home filled with patience, kindness, and lots of cuddles. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will repay love tenfold, Phoenix may be your perfect match. ❤️

Story
Ruby has been with us since November of 2023. She, her 7 puppies, and her two sisters, were all taken from a hoarding/squatting situation where they had no shelter, and no heat to keep them warm. Ruby was the best mom and raised her puppies and they have all since been adopted. She has remained in the foster home, as foster mom did not want her to be overly stressed and at risk here in the kennel. One day when all her pups had been adopted in fall of 2024, we believe due to the stress of all her pups being gone and feeling protective over foster mom, Ruby and one of the more dominant dogs in the home got in a minor tussle where Ruby bit her. It did not require stitches, but to insure Ruby and the other dog didn't get into it again, Ruby has been restricted to playing by herself. Her foster mom takes her on walks and lets her out to the backyard for solo play. But all of their crates are in the living room, and no incidents have happened since. Ruby tries to rub up against all of the other dogs except for the one she doesn't like when passing their crates or when they come up to her crate. Ludacris and Missy are in the same foster home and Ruby met them outside of the crates and she did wonderful. We just haven't pushed it since the pups grew bigger than Ruby. Ruby has never tried to go after the resident cat and met her calmly. Ruby is overwhelmed with all the action in the home, and we think she would do best in a home with kids, but less dogs (there are 6 in the same house). She is currently on anxiety meds to help with storms and every day maintenance. She absolutely adores her kids and follows them everywhere. She loves all people and will hit the ground for a belly rub. Ruby is a bit of work, but we know she's such a good girl and deserves a furever home. Ruby loves her foster mom's garden and especially her sunflowers.
