Story
The name is Farley, and loving is my game. I am about 7 years old, so I am pretty darn mellow. I do need to be an only pet. I just get a bit too excited over cats and other dogs. I would also do better with someone who works from home or is retired. I just really hate being left alone. I want to be with my people as often as possible. Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about snuggles. I believe that snuggles are a critical part of every day. Those and sniffing. I'm big into sniffing all things around me. And kids. I LOVE kids.

Story
My friends here at HOPE named me Oak because I was shaky and quivery like a leaf when I came here. That was a week ago, and I'm already opening up and developing some confidence. They tell me I will be solid like my namesake before too long. I had a bit of a rough start. I came from a bit of a dog hoarding situation. At least that's what my friend here says. All I know is that I lived with a lot of dogs, and I didn't go outside very often. When I got here I balked at doors. I didn't want to go out or in. I would drop to the ground and shake. But when I would see my hooman sitting on the ground, I would crawl to her for a hug. Now I am going through doors like a champ! I love to hang out in the lobby here. There are a lot of cats, and sometimes they scare me a bit, but I just leave them alone. They don't want to be friends, so I stay close to my favorite hoomans instead. I totally think I should be a lap dog, especially when they are trying to type. For some reason they put my front paws back on the ground and tell me "off." I don't think I like "off." On is a much better place to be! Update: I was adopted, but now I am back at HOPE. I have gained lots of confidence, but I still adore people. I am a bit dog selective, so if there is another dog in the home, it needs to be the right dog. And it upsets me when children cry. I tend to jump on them. So perhaps I would do better in a home with older children.

Story
Howdy! I'm Carl. I'm border collie mix somewhere around 3 to 4 years old and I'm looking for a forever home! I'm currently being fostered by a dog trainer which means everyone gets to learn so much about me and I get to learn more before I move on to my forever! I currently know some basic obedience ( but I would say I'm a master in sit and shake), I'm crate and potty trained and currently learning how to walk well on a leash. It still needs some work but I'm a very smart boy and learn quick! I do good with other dogs and cats but do have some issues with resource guarding when it comes to dogs I don't know very well. I get better once I know the dog better. I will need a home without kids since sometimes I think they're something I need to herd and sometimes they just make me anxious! My foster says I'm a medium-high energy boy so I’ll need someone that can keep up and give me the outlets I need to stay a good boy.

Story
Hey, Chief here! So I've had it a little bit rough before I got here to HOPE. I was adopted from the local animal control by a lady who loved me but didn't quite get my best interests. She kept me inside at all times, even to use the bathroom on puppy pads. As most people know, Husky's need a whole lot of exercise and enrichment! Because I wasn't getting this, I ended up chewing up the furniture and lots of other things around the house. She did not like this, so here I am at HOPE. Everyone is hoping to get me an adopter experienced with husky's or at least someone who understands my needs and will make sure I can get the life I need so I don't resort to chewing things up when I get bored. I sure don't do that here at the shelter.

Story
Hello!! My name is Maddox and I am about 7 months old! I'm a playful and loving guy, I warm up to everyone I meet immediately. I was surrendered to HOPE because my owner felt he didn't have enough time for me and also, his cat didn't like me very much. I do okay with the lobby cats here, they even freak me out a bit but maybe it would be best if I was in a home with dog-experienced cats, just incase. I hadn't met many dogs before I came here but I do just fine with the ones I've met so far. I may need a home with older kids, I still haven't learned not to jump quite yet, and nobody wants a little kid getting hurt because of me. I'm a great guy! The people here also think I'm kennel trained, I stay nice and quiet and haven't had a mess yet.

Story
Hi, hi, hi!! I'm Dolly!! I originally came to HOPE as a little bitty pup named Frisbee. I was in my home for about 2 years before my owners health issues meant they couldn't keep me. I'm still a youngin and just a little too rambunctious for their home right now. That's ok! I know the people here can find me my forever. They say I'm going to make someone very lucky and that I'm such a sweet pup. I can be nervous when meeting new people but once I'm comfortable, I am a complete goofball. I play, run, bounce around and just love having fun. I will make you laugh all the time, I swear!! I love other dogs a lot and do fine with the lobby cats (though they do seem fun to chase sometimes, I've never hurt one.) I will need someone with the patience to potty train a 2 year old pup. I was trained with potty pads and I don't always hit those everytime either. But I am kennel trained and keep it clean!
