Story
Meet Penny! Penny is a 4-5-year-old, 75-pound Great Pyrenees or St Bernard and probably a border collie or other breed mix. She is a beautiful and loving dog who is looking for a calm home that she can call her own. Penny would prefer a quiet home life with a comfy bed and lots of snuggles. She walks well on and off the leash, and has great recall off-leash. Penny is house-trained, crate trained, and knows to sit and stay. She loves riding in the car and does fantastic at the groomers. Penny adores being petted and loves people. She has been around children 10 years old and up and has been great! She has done fine with her doggie friends, but she is definitely a people dog! Penny had bloodwork as well as a dental cleaning at her vet visit. She did need a broken tooth extracted. Interested in becoming a forever home for Penny? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Penny. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Penny the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Meet Peppermint "Patty"! Patty is a 17.5-pound 12-week-old puppy. We think Patty is a Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Sheperd mix, but she may even have a bit of Labrador Retriever in her! Patty is very sweet and very playful. She loves to be loved on but equally loves romping around with the other doggies. Patty has done well with all of the friends she has met, children and dogs alike. She is already crate-trained and doing really well on leash training. Patty still needs a bit of help with potty training and more work on a leash to make walks fun and exciting! Interested in becoming a forever home for Patty? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alex (GA) is a male Great Pyrenees mix rescued in Georgia, estimated to be 7 months old in October 2021 and likely to be 85-95 pounds when full-grown. His foster mom says he is a 'giant, crazy and insanely happy puppy!' All people are his friends (he especially loves men!), he loves other dogs, and even likes cats.  Alex will do best in a suburban home with a fenced yard and an energetic doggy companion on the larger side who wants to play much of the day. He loves to eat as much as he loves to play. If there are children in the home, they should be on the older side: Alex really doesn't know how big he is!  He's working on his chewing, mouthing, leash and meal-time manners - the usual puppy behaviors which will benefit from continued and consistent training in his adoptive home as he grows into adulthood. True to his breed, he can be stubborn, he is very smart and his big personality matches his size. He has a true zest for life, so he's a fun, interesting and busy guy!  Alex has been neutered and microchipped, and will be up to date on core vaccines (age appropriate) at time of adoption. If you would like to take Alex home, please apply online to adopt Alex (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 8, 2024, 7:28 am

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
1.6 years old, 45lbs, PYR & Border Collie Mix (We have a DNA test on her), Spayed  Is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. NEEDS HOME OUTSIDE OF THE CITY. Can NOT be adopted in the city. Suburbs and beyond only for this girl :)  NEEDS TO BE THE ONLY DOG IN THE HOME: Great in group settings with other dogs such as group classes and play dates. But does NOT like to share her home with other dogs.  Level of dog ownership experience needed: INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy level: MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Cuddle bug level: High! - Very snuggly, VERY soft,  Potty trained? Yes - no accidents  Comfy with strangers? Yes - loves to meet new people  Comfortable with children? (ALWAYS requires adult supervision) Yes - okay with respectful children  Social with other dogs? Yes But Needs To Be The Only Dog In the Home - does great with dogs at daycare, dog training, playdates. But must be the ONLY dog in the home. Glennie is good with other dogs but does not like to share her home space with other dogs.  Mouthy behavior: Respectful with her mouth - She likes to grab socks or clothes but does not destroy anything Leash manners:  Working on this - Glennie has done a good amount of professional training. She is continuing to work on her leash manners: not pulling. Sometimes she gets over excited when she sees another dog.  Okay in the city? NO - Glennie must be adopted out of the city. Needs a home in the burbs or beyond.  Jumping to say hi? Low - is pretty good at keeping all four on the floor.  Separation anxiety? Nope - does not exhibit separation anxiety  Crate trained? Nope - does not use a crate  Medical status Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees: Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc
