Story
PENNSYLVANIA: Everyone wants to add more love and joy to their lives – well, we found the missing LINC-oln for that! Young Lincoln is a happy, good-looking pup who enjoys all kinds of activities, but what makes him happiest is being by your side! His foster says: “Lincoln is one factastic boy! He is super sweet and loves every moment of every day!” Lincoln is only about 2 years old and weighs an elegant 80 lbs, with his best days ahead of him! Sadly, he was found tied to the fence of a NYC public shelter, but even then Lincoln maintained his “pawsitive vibe” energy and has since been patiently waiting for his furever home. Lincoln is a loyal friend who will love his future family not only unconditionally, but also passionately with his zest for life! Lincoln does have a higher energy level, but he is easily entertained and could run after a simple ball all day. An active home with daily exercise or a fenced in yard would be best for this handsome boy. Lincoln loves car rides, other dogs, hiking, and swimming! No matter what breed he is, Lincoln sure is easy on the eyes; we speculate he may have some Anatolian Shepherd or Great Pyrenees in him – but with such a love for the water, you would think he is part fish! Lincoln is available for adoption and comes neutered, house-trained, up to date on shots, and micro chipped. Lincoln gets along and has been living with other dog(s) and does OK around kids. Lincoln bonds very deeply with his people and because of his eagerness to please, he was a star student in obedience training. He has learned so much with his foster and he is now ready for his furever family. Lincoln wants to do anything to make his person/people happy; he truly has so much love to give. Can Lincoln give that love to you? To meet this one-of-a-kind guy, apply to adopt Lincoln at AmsterDog.org or contact 917-689-8414 (texts ok) for more information. Lincoln is waiting for you! Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Baylor (AL) is possibly a male Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix estimated to be 16 weeks old at the time of intake in July 2024. Baylor is up to date on core vaccinations (age-appropriate) and is microchipped and neutered.  Baylor is good with people and other dogs.  Baylor's stunning good looks and gorgeous eyes will turn your heart to mush!   Baylor is a doofy, fun, playful, happy boy who thinks the world is his playspace. He has no idea that he's homeless or came close to losing his life in a shelter. He's just looking for love in a forever family. Baylor is a very good boy. He's super smart, eager to please, and very treat motivated - a great combo for easy training.  He's crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. He knows sit, paw, spin, touch, and he's learning to walk on leash. He's also learning that "jumping will get you nowhere.". Baylor would likely be happier living life in the suburbs rather than the big city. He's interested in meeting new people, and he is quite a charmer. He can be a bit nervous meeting new dogs, especially if they run up on him, so his Person will need to learn his body language and create space for him when he is scared.Baylor would be happy in a home with or without other dogs. If he's in a home with other dogs, ideally there would at least be one confident dog to help show him the ropes. He's a pretty typical adolescent pup, he pushes boundaries wherever he finds opportunities This can be managed by limiting access to opportunities through a structured environment. He'd thrive in a quiet-ish but active home, and would be great with older kids and/or dog savvy kids (he easily gets overwhelmed if there's a lot of chaos). He is more comfortable eating in his crate so he can feel safe, but this may not be necessary once he settles in and gains confidence. If you would like this super cute boy to take his place in your family,  please apply online to adopt Baylor (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. His adoption fee is $575.  Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alex (GA) is a male Great Pyrenees mix rescued in Georgia, estimated to be 7 months old in October 2021 and likely to be 85-95 pounds when full-grown. His foster mom says he is a 'giant, crazy and insanely happy puppy!' All people are his friends (he especially loves men!), he loves other dogs, and even likes cats.  Alex will do best in a suburban home with a fenced yard and an energetic doggy companion on the larger side who wants to play much of the day. He loves to eat as much as he loves to play. If there are children in the home, they should be on the older side: Alex really doesn't know how big he is!  He's working on his chewing, mouthing, leash and meal-time manners - the usual puppy behaviors which will benefit from continued and consistent training in his adoptive home as he grows into adulthood. True to his breed, he can be stubborn, he is very smart and his big personality matches his size. He has a true zest for life, so he's a fun, interesting and busy guy!  Alex has been neutered and microchipped, and will be up to date on core vaccines (age appropriate) at time of adoption. If you would like to take Alex home, please apply online to adopt Alex (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 9, 2024, 2:28 am

Story
Adoption donation $525 weight  79 lbs  Age: 1 year as of 3/23/2024              Logan is a friendly and sweet boy who is the quintessential family dog, he adores children and just loves to be with his people. if you sit down, you will likely find his big head nestled on your lap. He loves toys and bones and is a very easy-going boy. Logan is 100% House trained.        Logan definitely needs a yard, this boy loves to be outside! He doesn’t go far, if you call him, he will come right over to you. he is leash trained and if you have a big enough crate, he will go in there for naps.         Logan’s father is a purebred Great Pyrenees and mom is a 35 lb mixed breed. His original owners in Mississippi put two of his sisters in a cardboard box in front of their house with a sign that said “free puppies.” Wags rescued the puppies and found them loving homes. The owners refused to give up Logan and his sister Lila but kept them tied up outdoors. Wags was finally able to  convince them to relinquish the two and Logan and Lila went to the rescue, enjoying freedom for the first time. Lila has just been adopted, now it’s time for Logan to find a loving home of his own.         Logan got along well with most of the dogs at the rescue, although he’s definitely the alpha male and does not like to be challenged by another male. In his foster home in the northeast Logan lived with three females, including a puppy who jumped all over him, and he just wagged his tail. We’ve noticed that he does fine with small and medium dogs but tends to get more alpha with dogs his size. For that reason, we would prefer a home with dogs smaller than him or just a home where he can be the center of attention, he really just loves people so much.        Logan has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. He is a healthy boy who is ready to make a lucky family a loving companion. All Wags adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip  and transport to the northeast. Story
Meet Simba. Simba was dumped in our neighborhood which is very rural. We first noticed him when he walked up the driveway one morning. As soon as we headed towards him, he ran away. Poor thing was scared out of his mind and very confused. He had just been dumped by his family and he had no idea where he was. We set up our biggest live trap and then we waited. The first night, we caught the neighbor's cat. The second night we caught a gorgeous red fox. Third night was a charm, there he was bright and early in the morning. He did NOT want to come out of the cage so we had to lift the cage and bring into the back yard. Took him a while but he eventually came out. The first thing he did as we approached him was roll over on his back! To this day, as soon as anybody goes to him, boom, on his back he goes! He is such a gentle giant, tolerates anybody and anything, including our crazy Chihuahuas who chase him all the time! We had no idea what his breed mix was so we did a DNA on him. Pyrenees is the predominant breed but he also has Bulldog, Golden, Lab and even 5% Chihuahua if you can believe that! He is neutered, heat worm negative, fully vaccinated and ready for transport. Simba is truly a gem! ADOPTION FEE $500
