Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. CHLOE was transferred to GaDaH from a high kill shelter in Texas on 22nd April 2023. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos.      CHLOE is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick tested negative. She is on monthly prevention, microchipped, has an estimated date of birth of 17 March 2019 and at the time of transport weighed 82 pounds. We have no way of knowing what the actual breed is, so it is up to people to look at the pictures and video's to make up their own mind. CHLOE is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine for an adoption fee of $550.       This adoption fee covers the cost of running a brick and mortar rescue as well as any transport, veterinary, food,   treats, toys costs and the many expenses that rescues endure to keep the pets in their care safe, and happy.     Be sure to read all the information and if interested, go to the rescue website to submit an adoption application. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavors. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! &#226&#128&#139You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the "3 Point Rule" Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then we can schedule your appointment to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet/greet/adopt Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx. 8 miles) and approx. 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. Story
Introducing Paloma! This 2 year old Pyrenees mix is incredibly calm and sweet. Her constantly wagging tail has earned her the nickname "Wiggly Butt" in her foster home. She's 64lbs and has made it her life's mission to prove that big dogs make great lapdogs. She's a total cuddle bug and is always ready to crawl into your lap looking for snuggles. Paloma recently arrived in the city and is still adjusting to all the sights, sounds, and smells the city has to offer. She'd love a patient adopter who can help her build her confidence while out and about. Approved adopters interested in Paloma can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you're not approved yet, apply today at hbrdogs.com!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alex (GA) is a male Great Pyrenees mix rescued in Georgia, estimated to be 7 months old in October 2021 and likely to be 85-95 pounds when full-grown. His foster mom says he is a 'giant, crazy and insanely happy puppy!' All people are his friends (he especially loves men!), he loves other dogs, and even likes cats.  Alex will do best in a suburban home with a fenced yard and an energetic doggy companion on the larger side who wants to play much of the day. He loves to eat as much as he loves to play. If there are children in the home, they should be on the older side: Alex really doesn't know how big he is!  He's working on his chewing, mouthing, leash and meal-time manners - the usual puppy behaviors which will benefit from continued and consistent training in his adoptive home as he grows into adulthood. True to his breed, he can be stubborn, he is very smart and his big personality matches his size. He has a true zest for life, so he's a fun, interesting and busy guy!  Alex has been neutered and microchipped, and will be up to date on core vaccines (age appropriate) at time of adoption. If you would like to take Alex home, please apply online to adopt Alex (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 27, 2023, 10:48 am

Story
Meet Penny! Penny is a 4-5-year-old, 75-pound Great Pyrenees or St Bernard and probably a border collie or other breed mix. She is a beautiful and loving dog who is looking for a calm home that she can call her own. Penny would prefer a quiet home life with a comfy bed and lots of snuggles. She walks well on and off the leash, and has great recall off-leash. Penny is house-trained, crate trained, and knows to sit and stay. She loves riding in the car and does fantastic at the groomers. Penny adores being petted and loves people. She has been around children 10 years old and up and has been great! She has done fine with her doggie friends, but she is definitely a people dog! Penny had bloodwork as well as a dental cleaning at her vet visit. She did need a broken tooth extracted. Interested in becoming a forever home for Penny? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Penny. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Penny the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Meet Gemini Born in March 2022, Gemini is one of the two smaller pups from the original litter of five. Her flat coat is a mix of white, brown, tan, and gray. Gemini will be a fantastic canine companion for the lucky family who adopts her as your one and only. She's always happy to greet you and extra sweet and gentle. She's patient and tolerant. She wags her tail and takes treats ever so delicately. She wants to make friends with everyone she meets. Gemini has come a long way since arriving at the shelter. She's grown more confident and enjoys going for walks and exploring the world outside the shelter gate. Slow and steady is the way to go with Gemini, letting her take her time. You'll love looking into her soulful, loving eyes. Gemini will do best with a single person or a family with gentle, respectful children at least 10 years old since she will grow to be a larger dog. She'll do best in a home with a fenced yard so she can run and play and/or with a family dedicated to giving her exercise walks. After a DNA test, we were surprised to learn test that Gemini and her siblings are 50% Great Pyrenees, 14.3% Bluetick Coonhound,13.7% Chow Chow, 11.7% Labrador Retriever and 10.3% German Shepherd. She is spayed, up to date on shots, micro-chipped, heart warm negative and ready to go home! If you'd like to meet Gemini please email start2nj@yahoo.com
