Story
Meet Jellyroll! Jellyroll is a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees/Boxer mix with a handsome white-and-tan coat and the sweetest freckled nose. Weighing in at about 90 lbs, this big guy is equal parts playful goofball and loyal couch companion. Jellyroll loves staying active — dog park romps, hiking adventures, and outdoor playtime are right up his alley. When the fun winds down, he’s just as happy taking a long afternoon nap curled up beside his people. He knows how to sit nicely for treats, is fully house trained, and has lived with small children since he was just 9 weeks old. Jellyroll gets along very well with other dogs and would enjoy a home where he has space to play and explore. True to his Pyrenees roots, Jellyroll takes his job as protector seriously. He enjoys barking at blowing leaves or passersby from the safety of an enclosed yard and would do best in a home without frequent visitors or unfamiliar people coming and going. He’s looking for a calm, loving environment where he can feel secure and devoted to his family. If you’re searching for a loyal, playful, and affectionate companion with a big heart (and an even bigger personality), Jellyroll might be your perfect match. Interested in adopting Jellyroll? Please reach out to Ldelgiudice724@gmail.com to learn more about this sweet boy and discuss next steps.

Story
Lilah is a ~4 year old 65lb Great Pyrenes mixed breed. I rescued Lilah from a shelter 2 years ago. She is the most loving dog, full of goofy energy and loves her family more than anything. At home she wants to be next to you and lay on top of you. She loves her crate and can be home alone. She loves to run around and play with other dogs and people. While she is full of love 90%+ of the time, she can be reactive to other dogs. She's never had a reactive incident while in an off leash setting but while on leash or in close settings, she has the potential to be reactive, rush them and bark aggressively. She is also very protective at home and has nipped at strangers twice. No experience with kids. I currently live in a New York City apartment where Lilah interacts with many new people and dogs every day. Lilah would thrive in an environment with less constant activity, fewer new dogs, and controlled space for her to roam. She's everyone's favorite girl who deserves the right home

Story
Elizabeth - 2 years, 76lbs, PYR & Retriever Mix, Spayed  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required: INTERMEDIATE – This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy level:MEDIUM – Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet because this pup is brand new to us. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age carefully.  Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2643765##

Story
If you've been on the hunt for a gentle giant, look no further! 4-year-old Marco is the sweetest 75 pound Great Pryenees we've ever met. Crate- and house-trained, this giant fluffball loves all people, would do anything for a cuddle (he'll even put a paw on your leg to let you know it's time for pets), and is content to snooze the day away. Marco also loves other dogs and really enjoys sniffing around outside, but could use a little help keeping his excitement in check. We're sure he'll learn quickly, though, since he's already mastered "sit" after just a few days in NYC.  Approved adopters interested in Marco can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you're not approved yet, apply today at hbrdogs.com!

Story
Meet Klondike! This 1-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighs around 93 lbs and is truly as wonderful as she sounds. She’s house-trained, incredibly sweet, and has the kind of gentle presence that draws everyone in. Other dogs seem instantly attracted to her beautiful demeanor, and she always wants to stop and say hello when she sees one. Klondike adores people of all ages and seems to believe that everyone she meets is a long-lost friend waiting for hugs and kisses. To her, the world is full of friends who want to play, cuddle, and share affection. She’s social, loving, and wonderfully easygoing. Klondike has adjusted beautifully to city life. Sirens and loud trucks may catch her attention, but she takes it all in stride, walking with confidence, joy, and ease. Since arriving in the city, she’s been an absolute dream and has brought so much happiness to everyone lucky enough to meet her. Approved adopters interested in Klondike can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you’re not approved yet, apply today at hbrdogs.com.
