Story
Maya was acquired out of a bad situation having to live in the elements in a crate way too small for her. She is approximately 3 years old and believed to be the mom of Ruby and Rosie. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and getting some basic training. After all she has endured in her short life, she is so resilient, happy, and loves attention. She is very smart and forms bonds quickly with humans that are nice to her. She loves to run and chase her big red ball...and chew it up. When she first arrived, she was very reactive to the resident chickens, dogs, cats, and horses, but has gotten so much better. We don't know how she is with other animals yet.We are looking for someone who knows this breed, will be patient with her, loves long walks, preferably an only pet home, and one where she will be treated as the queen she is.

She is very smart and forms bonds quickly with humans that are nice to her. She is a velcro dog, loving to be with someone or lying across you. She loves to sunbathe in a nice spot on the grass. She was very reactive to the resident chickens, dogs, cats, and horses, but has gotten better. We would still prefer a home with no other pets. We are looking for someone who knows this breed, will be patient with her, loves long walks, preferably an only pet home, and one where she will be treated as the queen she is.

Story
Pete and Pedro 😊are bonded “brothers”. Pete is 10 years old and weighs 18 pounds. Pedro is also 10 and weighs 14 pounds. They are both a little overweight but they are the sweetest, most lovable boys you will meet. They came to us when their owner went into assisted living and there was no one to care for them. They adapted very quickly and became little love muffins. They love attention and are very affectionate. They prefer to be the only pets. The adoption donation for the pair is $300 which includes their neuter, vaccinations, microchip. They are heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. They must be together so twice as much to love! https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p168/Pete_%26_Pedro.html We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. We have a page on our website that explains our adoption process, and contains a link to our adoption application. Here is the link: https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/adoption-information.html

Story
Scooby is a 5 year old Dachshund Bully mix weighing approximately 35 pounds. He was surrendered when his owner lost her job and was forced to move in with relatives. You can see the sadness in his eyes ☹. He is very timid and laid back, complacent and mellow. Needless to say, he is very depressed and won’t even eat (not even treats). His adoption donation is $250 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip. He is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. Please help him to feel loved again. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p169/Scooby_Doo.html

Story
THIS IS BUDDY ~~ He's currently living in Charlotte, NC - and it is our hope to keep him out of a shelter.  His dad passed away unexpectedly - and Grampa is not able to keep him, so we are trying to assist in rehoming him.  We are an 8 hour drive from Charlotte so we are looking for a LOCAL or NC adoptive home for him -- OR-- a rescue group who can step up and try to get him rehomed locally.   Buddy is a mellow, laid back 3 year old Golden/St. Bernard (?) mix, neutered, up to date on vaccines, full grown at about 40 lbs., good with people, kids and other dogs.  Not sure about cats.   Please share this post far and wide - and if interested, please EMAIL us for an application - jmilbyer@gmail.com.  This is time sensitive.  April 17, 2026, 1:02 pm
