Story
Hi. My name is Pete. I'm a 4-year-old, orange and white Brittany who was born with cataracts in both eyes: then I went blind.    When I was blind, I engaged in compulsive repetitive  behaviors, such as spinning, barking, and pica (eating non-food items). I had successful eye surgery and now I can see again.  As a result of me regaining my vision, I acquired a new compulsive behavior; eyeing light and shadows. Fortunately, with the help of my medication, my compulsive behaviors, with the exception of pica,  have improved a greatly.    My favorite toy is a black Kong. My foster mom thought it would be good for me because I can't bite through it. I love to fetch and retrieve and could do it all day long. B eing able to see is such a blessing.  If I have trouble finding my Kong, I'm good at a game called Hot and Cold. I respond well to the command  "leave it!" when I find something I want to put in my mouth. I listen well to the command "drop!" when I put an object in my mouth. I weigh 35 lb and I like to stay active. Maybe my foster mom could teach me how to wiggle my tush to  "Nothing But a Hound Dog."   I am not picky about what I eat and will try to swallow anything I put in my mouth. Because I like to swallow everything, I should not be left unsupervised.  When I get anxious, a soothing white noise helps me to stay calm.    I do not get along with other dogs and probably not cats. I have never been around children. I am not sure if I would get along with them or not.    I am a great  leash walker and have perfect recall. I'm up to date on all my vaccines and, other than requiring my eye drops once a day, I am in good health.    I love to ride in the car and watch the world go by as I look out the window.  I am eager to please and will do anything my foster mom ask of me.   I am a happy dog and when I'm tired I love to sit and cuddle in my foster mom's lap.    I'm very thankful for all the care I have received. It has been done with devotion by the people at nbran. I hope that soon I will be in a permanent home with a loving family.     I will need to take my eye drops for the rest of my life, When my foster mother tells me "Chin,"  I rest my head in her hand so she can put the drops in my eyes. My adoption Fee is $400 to help offset my medical expenses and to allow NBRAN to rescue other Brittanys.    NBRAN will provide transportation, up to 1400 miles, to my new approved home.  For more information about me contact Debbie Tuthill agilitybrits@gmail.com or Suzanne Horsley ztasuzanne@gmail.comApril 9, 2025, 2:23 pm

Story
Meet Woody, a 3 year-old liver and white Brittany mix with the cutest little nub he loves to wag! My favorite thing in the world is to run & play! I am a boy that needs to explore & get my energy out. I LOVE to be with my family & to cuddle together. I can’t overstate how much I love my family. BUT, I also love to play, run & explore. My favorite toys are my chew bone & a tennis ball I can chase after for hours. I love going on walks too. Sometimes I like to pull, but with correction, I listen. Like many Brittany’s, I’m a quick learner & really enjoy my training sessions. I’m very food motivated & love to please. While I do not like to live with other dogs, I am ok with other dogs outside with supervision. I become very fixated on cats, so no cats please.  In my new home, I need consistent structure and limits to help me continue to learn & use my manners. I know lots of commands & would love to learn more. Woody is crate trained & sleeps all night in there, although he wouldn’t mind snuggling in bed either. He is also completely house trained. Do I sound like your perfect boy? I would love to be running in the yard, with my little humans or would be content watching for squirrels, chasing the ball & going for walks. But, consistent & daily exercise is a must  I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines & preventatives and heartworm negative. My adoption fee is $350 and  NBRAN will transport me up to 1400 miles to my new approved homes, with adopter being responsible for the last 100 miles or so. Could you be my perfect home? If you want me to be your newest family member or learn more about me, reach out to Karen Carr  kecarr72@icloud.com (716)829-9569 December 8, 2025, 3:55 pm

Story
Katie is a young, energetic dog who loves tug of war and laying in the sun. I recently accepted a job that requires us to relocate out west, and we will not be able to take her with us. Katie is kind and gentle with both of our kids. We have a 7 year old boy, who Katie chases around the house. And a 1 year old daughter. Katie enjoys laying on the ground near our daughter, watching her curiously. Katie loves to go on runs, occasionally I ride my bike around the neighborhood while she runs on her leash beside me. Katie is highly treat motivated, and has been easy to train basic commands. Shortly after we brought Katie home, she was attacked by another dog of similar size while I was walking her in the neighborhood, she has been distrustful of dogs ever since, and will become aggressive when other dogs get too close. We love Katie and want nothing more than for her to find a loving household to give her the attention and exercise she deserves

Story
Adopted from shelter as beagle mix in 2018, estimated 1 year old, so now 8y/o. Has anxiety with storms, car rides, new places. Used to get along with other dogs, and take walks, but In past 3 years became over protective of sick husband and has bitten or threatened to bite visitors other than family. She no longer likes to take walks, acting like she’s afraid to go too far from our house. Reactive if she spots other dogs pass the house, or if someone comes to door. Once she gets to know someone she is very sweet. But unpredictable, which has increased my anxiety level. She needs a fenced in yard which I don’t have, and an upbeat, patient owner experienced with training and likes to play with her. I am now widowed, so I appreciate her being a good watchdog, but my arthritis is getting worse and I worry she’ll pull me down if she spots an animal in the yard when I take her out to potty. I will consult a vet behaviorist to see if medication will relieve her fearfulness.
