Story

Louie is a 3 year old, 14 pound Dachshund mix that was in a hoarding situation with 30 other dogs. A rescue came and took 15 dogs, leaving the others there, so animal came and confiscated the others. It has taken Louie a while to feel safe and comfortable and now he will not leave his foster mom's side. He would be happiest to be in his foster mom's lap 24/7. He has gotten along wonderfully with all of the dogs, the litter of pups, and the chickens in his foster home. Louie has been neutered, vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and is heartworm negative. Story

Pappy is an 11 year old Papillon & Badger is an 11 year old Shiba Inu. Their owner died and their daughter did not want them, so she took the dogs to Wakulla Animal Services to be euthanized. The shelter contacted us and asked us to take, so that is how they ended up at our rescue. These 2 are a bonded pair, are inseparable, eat together and sleep together, and need to be adopted together. They've been so quiet an unassuming and you'd forget they're even here. When the foster mom brings out the leashes, the boys just light up. They love going for walks and for rides in the car. They do fine with the other 12 dogs and pups in the rescue. These 2 boys still have a lot of life and love to give. They've been neutered and vaccinated. The adoption fee for the pair is $100. Story

Buddy is ~4yrs, enjoys chillin, chewin on his toys and bones, snuggles and play. Has selective hearing-hears loud noice, does have a level of hearing loss. He would probably do okay with a companion with proper slow introduction. Bud is a good dog, all he needs is the right person to give him a chance by gaining their trust. He does well with reward training. He does not do well when put in a fearful position or is not given attention. He needs to get his energy out, then he enjoys to relax by laying next to his person. All dogs have been spay/nuetered, vaccinated, and microchipped. They are all rescue only or for space pulls from Hernando County Animal Services. We have provided them with basic obedience training. Most respond well to basic voice commands; sit, stay, here, lay, off, down, & bed. Exact breed is unknown as we do not DNA test. We believe none of our rescues are pure-breed dogs. Rather a combination of Hounds/Terriers/Bully breeds. They have however all been behavior tested and are available for adoption. If there are any known issues with any of our dogs we disclose at meet and greet. No adoption fees. Donations are the only means of funding our rescue. Meet our sweet little Gizmo. He is a 6 pound, 5 year old Toy Terrier mix. This boy has had a horrible life in the home of hoarders. Due to malnutrition and severe dehydration, he could barely walk and would fall over. The clinic he went to could not guarantee that he could be saved. Once he pulled through and began to thrive, he was neutered as he had a swollen prostate. He also has a severe overbite that caused difficulty drinking, the vet removed a few rotten teeth. Gizzy is very nervous when meeting new folks and will offer anxious barking, but is quick to love when he feels safe. This boy will not do well in a home where he is left alone for long hours, nor will he do well will small children. Gizmo is heartworm negative and current on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $200. Story

Buddy has been my baby boy since we first got him. His mother stopped nursing so I had to bottle feed him and treated him as my baby boy. Hes grown into the most playful, loving big boy. He loves to play catch and would stay outside all day and night if you let him. He is very energetic but knows when its time to lay down and relax. He listens to basic commands and goes right into his cage to lay down when needed. He is protective especially over us girls in the house and will make his presence known to unwelcome guest (which is something my husband loves when hes away for work) but dont let his size fool you, he will try to smother you with hugs and snuggles. He will gladly lay right next to you or even on you at times to snuggle for bed time.
