Story

Sweetie is an incredibly affectionate, intelligent, and loyal dog. She loves being close to her people, enjoys cuddling, and settles down nicely in the evenings. Through her training, she has learned a great deal and is kennel trained (and is so quiet in her kennel, you may forget she's in there!), she is fully house trained, and is familiar with commands such as sit, heel, climb, bed (kennel), and does well with loose-leash walking, and several other obedience skills. One thing the trainer has consistently emphasized is just how intelligent and capable Sweetie is. In fact, he recently described her as "a dog trainer's dream" and said Sweetie could be great at doing a job, or sport, like agility or dock jumping. She has energy and a vertical leap you wouldn't believe. She genuinely enjoys learning, responds best to structure, and seems happiest when she is being challenged and given opportunities to work, train, and engage with her handler. We believe she would thrive with an adopter who enjoys training dogs and would continue building on the strong foundation she already has. She's happy and... well... sweet. Sweetie gets along best with male dogs. Her adoption fee is $150. She is in a foster home, so contact us for a meet and greet. Apply to adopt

Mr. Bocephus (Bo) is a Bull Terrier. We are not sure if he is pure-bred as we have not done his DNA. Bo is currently in training for basic manners, leash pulling, and reactivity. He is ready to move to a foster home where he can continue to build on his skills with our help. Free training is provided for Bo's lifetime. Bo does have a very sensitive stomach and is on Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach. He cannot tolerate treats either without getting the runs. Our regular vet found a heart murmur and Bo has an appointment at VSS in October. FREE TRAINING IS INCLUDED FOR HIS LIFETIME! Adoption fee is $300. Apply to adopt

She prefers the calm of a cozy walk around the perimeter, where she can soak up some socialization without too much pressure. At home, though, she thrives alongside her foster sister, Darla. These two are practically partners in crime, playing and running together. 🐶✨She does best with playmates around the same size as her and we do not recommend small dogs. But guess what? She’s got a special bond with her feline friend! Yes, you heard that right—they even enjoy snoozing together. How cute is that? Because she's a bundle of energy, older children are recommended; let’s just say she might accidentally tip over a little one with all her enthusiastic greetings! But with a touch of dedication, she can definitely be trained to be gentle. When it comes to her human pack, she’s all about the love! Expect loving tail wags, belly rubs, and plenty of joy when you walk through the door. She’s also a budding guard dog—alerting you to any strangers while you work on her “no bark” command, which she’s picking up like a pro! Just give her some space to warm up to new faces, and she’ll win them over in no time. ❤️ This sweet girl is housebroken and crate trained, plus she adores car rides! 🚗 She’s great with dogs her own size for one-on-one playdates but prefers to steer clear of crowded dog parks. And did we mention her lovely relationship with cats? She can be shy initially, but she just needs a little time to blossom into her beautiful self! Medical update: Yazzy has "bad knees". Doesn't look like anything is torn, but the vet has her on daily carprofen and you'll notice a little limp when she's walking. Due to this, she goes on short walks and simple outside time in the backyard. DNA results: 41% American Pittie 36% American Staffy 9% Akita 4% Norwegian Elkhound - this piece of her DNA creates the guard dog. 3% Boxer. Apply to adopt

Story

Approx DOB January 2025. We adopted Smokey 6/13/2026, after she had spent six weeks with her breeders mom, as her original family could no longer handle her. She's very sweet, sometimes goofy, and mostly a couch potato. She does have bursts energy, and needs a good walk or two a day, or a few sessions playing in the backyard. We have a 5 YO Dane female, altered, and a 4 YO Dane male, unaltered; we've had them both since 8 weeks. They got along well for 7 weeks, until Smokey had issue w/our girl - big fight. Now both won't have anything to do with her; we have to keep them separated 24/7, which isn't good for anyone in the house. She bonded with me (mom) instantly. Think part of the aggression toward our girl was resource guarding me, and trying to become the dominant one. She became more comfortable with us over the weeks (good!) - more tail wagging, better appetite; perhaps trying to solidify her position here. She'll make a WONDERFUL only dog.
