Story
My ex husband and I adopted Baby Girl from Metro East Humane in St Jacob Illinois After we adopted her we found out she has seizures We have had her on all medications prescribed by her vet in addition to a special vet prescribed Neuro Pro Dog Food since the divorce My ex can't keep her per his land lords rules She is the sweetest dog and loves to take shorter walks I am physically emotionally and financially unable to keep her I would love to keep but just can't Her medications are required to be taken every 12 hours and include Kepra and Phenobarbital I would love to have her go to a loving home with people who can spoil her as much as I do She has only had 5 seizures in their last 5 months and they last less than 5 minuets Thank you for reading our story Sincerely Sue

If you feel your family is a perfect match, please send an email to gateway4paws@gmail.com for additional information. Only complete & qualified applications will be considered/contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org Bosc is a sweet boy looking for his very own family. He likes to be held & snuggled. He is shy, & until he is used to you, hands are intimidating. He would like the opportunity to build trust with you. His family should be prepared to give him plenty of time to get used to being around hands, humans, & home activity. Bosc will not walk or do potty business while on a harness and leash. Therefore, he must have a secure physically fenced yard. In time, his family can work on leash training, but he isn't ready for that right now. Bosc enjoys the company of his foster brothers and sisters. He looks to them for guidance so this will be a requirement for Bosc. They also need to be of similar size to Bosc or smaller. Bosc has shown measurable improvement in potty training. While in the house, his mom uses a belly band for him. This allows her the opportunity to correct his behavior without the panic of getting the furniture or carpet soiled. He is doing well, but again, his training needs time, praise, & consistency. Please only apply if you are prepared to dedicate time & love to giving Bosc the family he has always deserved.

Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. Sweet little Ginger is 100% a Good Girl! You just have to meet her to understand how very good she is. She loves to lay in the sofa and watch everything going on around her. Ginger has dry eyes. She has been seen by the veterinary ophthalmologist at University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center Small Animal Hospital. Her current medical plan includes using a daily sterile saline flush once per day, a topical lubricant twice a day & tacrolimus drops twice a day. She will need this for the rest of her life. Her eye meds cost about $20 a month. The rest of her health & wellness check was unremarkable, she is healthy in all other areas. Ginger has practically mastered her potty schedule. She doesn’t ‘signal’ to go outside, but she does know which door to go to. When taken out at regular intervals, she is very good at her potty duties. She should be taken out anytime she wakes from napping, first thing in the morning, and several times throughout the day, and before bed. Anytime there is a change in their routine, dogs need a moment to adjust. We will be requiring a secure physical fence; she is not leash trained. She is learning to be on a leash & will need a lot more training. Since she will have to do potty duties immediately upon arriving at her new home, you will need a safe plan for that, therefore a fence is required. Ginger would do best if she had a canine friend of similar size, she has enjoyed having friends in her foster home. Loud noises & sudden movements make her nervous. She would likely not be happy in a home with small children or puppies. She would do best in a quiet home where she can just relax with her family. Please let us know if your home would provide the right Zen for Ginger to relax & snooze her days away!

Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. Sweet little Gloria is a bit shy but loves sitting on the lap of her foster mom. She is nervous, but once she has been introduced to you, she is anxious to be friends. Gloria has practically mastered her potty schedule. She doesn’t ‘signal’ to go outside, but she does know which door to go to. When taken out at regular intervals, she is very good at her potty duties. She should be taken out anytime she wakes from napping, first thing in the morning, a few times throughout the day, and before bed. Anytime there is a change in their routine, dogs need a moment to adjust. We will be requiring a fence; she is not leash trained. Please remember how very small she is, and she will not be getting any bigger, 7lbs is it. So your fence will need to be very secure, even better, have an x-pen to safely let her out to do her potty duties. Since she will have to do potty duties immediately upon arriving at her new home, you will need a safe plan for that, therefore a fence is required. Gloria would do best if she had a canine friend of similar size, she has enjoyed having friends in her foster home. Loud noises & sudden movements make her nervous. Story
Dyson/ Yorkie DOB 06.05.17/ 5yo/ 6lbs Neutered/UTD on vaccinations Current on flea/ tick/ heartworm prevention Please read Dyson’s bio in its ENTIRETY! If you are interested in adopting, please send an email to gateway4paws@gmail.com for additional information. We are 100% foster-based rescue, only approved complete applications will be contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL and be able to drive for a meet and greet/adoption. Dyson is a fun little guy that is looking for a family to give him lots of love. Dyson is learning all the things that come with having a home- blankets, good food, his own yard, plenty of comfortable naps, you know, the good stuff! He does not enjoy rough housing or obnoxious playing; he does seek attention, but he prefers it to be gentle. Dyson’s foster mom had this to say about him: “Dyson is a sweet but very shy boy. When comfortable, he comes to sleep in the big bed. He & Milo are very close, & he would benefit having another small dog in the home. It will take time & patience for him to become comfortable (and establish relationships). He takes care of (potty) business outside but does not signal to go out. He loves running the big fenced in backyard. He gets along with all the other dogs.” Dyson’s forever home will need to be very mindful of his whereabouts. If the adopting family has children, they must be old enough & respectful enough to understand that Dyson must be handled with care. Dyson is not been leash trained & it will take him time to learn in his new home. Therefore, he will need a SECURE area to do his potty business. While we prefer a physically secure fenced yard, we will consider a nice sturdy x-pen. We even recommend using an x-pen with a secure physical fenced yard until Dyson is more familiar with his new family and you have earned his trust. You MUST understand that a tiny nervous dog is hard to catch in a big yard. The fence will need to be checked for small cracks, a nervous 6lb dog can fit through small spaces & can disappear lickity-split! Again, his safety is of the upmost importance! Fill out an application if you meet the requirements & are ready to give Dyson the perfect forever home!
