Story
Slattery was in our care for 341 days and only got out for one overnight with one of our shelter trainers before finally making it to a foster home! Our volunteer Sharon takes our long-term dogs and has an amazing setup for them once they go home. They get tons of exercise, go on lots of hiking adventures and best of all, she learns the real details of our longer-term dogs. In our care, Slattery's biggest issue was she was aloof when meeting others, so no one connected to her. Now that she is happy and thriving, she has left her aloof days behind her!! She can now be described as a low-key snuggler who loves people but not in an overbearing way. She loves adventures but also loves to just hang out. Slattery likes to pick her doggie friends, but she seems to do just fine with a proper introduction. She's a fairly calm and quiet girl, not much of a barker. She's the perfect dog for an active owner and someone who wants a potty-trained sweetheart but not a "velcro" dog! Does Slattery sound like a good fit for our lifestyle? Sign up to be connected with her foster mom Sharon!!

Story
Fabrona is a special pup! She has a lot of love to give, but will require some patience while she gets there. She's bonded hard with her foster parents and has so far kept her friend circle small, making finding her forever family more challenging. We have started working on teaching her how to make and accept new friends and the good news is, once she works through her process, she's a loyal love bug! We are looking forward to continuing her training and helping her grow!

Story
Are you in need of getting your daily steps in, but you find it boring, so you struggle? If you need motivation, we have the BEST solution! Our girl Kira is always ready for a long walk, a hike, or a fun adventure and is sure to keep you motivated. Kira is a wonderful companion as long as she has an outlet for her energy. If you have a male dog similar in size, she would love a play buddy! Kira is best described as a free spirit, a lover of life, love, and FUN! Kira is also super smart and has 4 free training sessions with a certified trainer who had previously worked with her in a foster home. Active dogs have the most difficult time in a shelter, and when they are as smart as Kira, shelter life is even more difficult. Let's rally and get her out of here!!! Available for foster or adoption! 2.5 years, 53 lbs!

Story
Olympic has been in foster for quite a while and is thriving! However, she's ready to find her forever home. She checks all of the boxes! Her foster describes her as: - potty trained (knows how to use a doggy door too) - crate trained - food motivated (loves food games and enrichment) - undemanding and versatile - she's happy to keep up with a high activity day or spend the day lounging - thinks she's a lap dog - this sweet beauty doesn't understand that she doesn't weigh 10 lbs and will happily climb up to snuggle Apply to adopt Olympic today!

The exciting news is that Cody is doing fantastically well in his foster home! His foster mom says: "Cody likes to go for walks. He is very curious about everything but does well. He pulls some, but he is manageable, especially with treats. This big boy likes to eat! I have had him for a week, and he has not made one sound. Unbelievable! He is such an EASY DOG TO CARE FOR!! All he wants is love and, of course, food and treats." Cody is still up for adoption! If this is the proof you need to know that Cody is a great houseguest, don't waste any more time! Story
Our team has been working tirelessly to reduce the Preventing Euthanasia list and find forever homes for all our furry friends. One of our sweethearts, Moxie, is ready to find her perfect match and settle into her forever home. Moxie is an absolute gem - she's great with kids, loves to socialize (with proper introductions), enjoys her daily walks, is fully potty trained, and has the softest coat we've ever seen. We truly believe she is one of the most beautiful girls at CARE. Moxie has been in the foster home for the past 25 days, and her foster Mom has noticed some incredible changes in her behavior and personality. For one, her reactivity on walks has significantly reduced. Previously, she was always on high alert, which hindered her ability to enjoy her walks. Now, she spends more time smelling the flowers, rolling in the grass, and checking in with her handler frequently. Moxie has done exceptionally well with a baby and would thrive in a home with older children. She can switch from being playful to calm in a heartbeat, and a house with a perfect balance of both would suit her well. She also started crate training Moxie, and she's taken it beautifully. She gets high-value treats in her crate and has even fallen asleep independently inside the crate with the door open. Furthermore, she's non-destructive in a home and loves enrichment activities like lick mats, cardboard to tear up, and Benebones smothered in peanut butter. Meeting new people and children has been a breeze for Moxie, and she's never shown any signs of resource guarding. She also loves playing with toys and has a particular affinity for water - she couldn't wait to jump into her pool after her walk. Moxie would make an excellent addition to any loving home. If you're looking for a furry companion who's loving, playful, and well-behaved, look no further than our sweet girl Moxie.
