Story
This is Larry a 68lb pittie mix lap dog who's looking for his forever family through ActNow! Rescue. He'll keep himself entertained for hours and when he's ready to crash he'll crawl right up onto your lap whether you're ready or not because he's just a big cuddly boy! He loves his zoomies and would do very well in a big yard with a fence. He hasn't been cat or kid tested. He wasn't terribly interested in meeting the other dogs in my house but once he did he was super playful! He would be a great family dog ❤️ Please fill out an application at actnowrescue.net

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Harvey is 2-3 years old and 65lbs. He hasn't been cat or kid tested but he's good with other dogs. He listens incredibly well so he's very trainable! He's already learned to wait at the door until you tell him he can leave he knows sit down and he's both crate and potty trained. He is so easy to walk for a dog his size and with his strength. He absolutely loves his people and always wants to be around you. His favorite thing to do is play fetch and he will bring it back to you and put it right in your hand without you even having to say let go or drop it. He would love an active family with a bit of structure. I can't say enough good things about this boy! It's going to be very difficult for me to let him go but I will for the perfect family! Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Angel! She is a 2-3 year-old fox terrier. Angel is a little shy at first, and can take a little time to warm up to new people. (She prefers women and can be uncomfortable with men) She loves to sit in a lap (but does not like to be picked up or carried), snuggle under the covers and just be with you, no matter what you are doing! She is a little shadow, if you are in a room, so is she!! She has been previously adopted on and it did not work out, but we did learn a few things. She must have a home with NO CATS. She is a little needy and would like someone to be around as much as possible, and she absolutely needs a fenced in yard. She will not go potty while on a leash. Angel is picky about which dogs she likes (she does not like the majority of other dogs) but a calm small dog who is submissive would be the best option for a companion. Any children in the home should be older, calm and good with dogs. She is a cuddle bug and prefers to spend her time cuddled under a blanket with you or snuggled up in her bed filled with blankets. Adoptions in the St. Louis, MO area only. If you are interested in Angel, Please email any questions to shannonkreader@gmail.com or fill out an application at actnowrescue.net

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This is Laika. Laika has had a very rough start to her life. She was hit by a car and left on a cement floor at a vet's office with no medical care for 2 months. ActNow! Rescue tagged her and got her to a surgeon for an evaluation. It turns out that neither of her knee caps are where they're supposed to be and sadly there's a chance that surgery won't even fix the problem. The vet had said he was surprised she can even walk at all bc her left knee is only slightly better than her right and she really only uses that one leg. Once she is adopted if something were to happen to her better leg, the rescue will be responsible for that care. However, she gets around just fine! She runs and plays with other dogs and doesn't have any issues with stairs. She's only around a year old, not sure what breed she is but I know she's absolutely beautiful inside and out! She only weighs about 34lbs and is so sweet that I'm surprised she doesn't melt when water touches her 🥺. She's potty trained and crate trained although she really doesn't need to be in a crate and I haven't had her in one bc she doesn't destroy anything in the house when I'm away. She's great with other dogs and while she hasn't been kid or cat tested I can only assume based on what I've seen that she would do great. While I believe she would do great with kids I don't want her to go to a home with young children only bc I'm worried they might knock her over, it's usually the other way around lol. She doesn't need to go on walks so as not to put more stress on her left leg so if you're an older couple she might be the ideal girl for you. Please fill out an application at actnowrescue.net

Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Rocco is around a year old and currently 67lbs of pure love. He was going to be euthanized because he was so scared in the shelter he just shook. Once I got him home he was able to decompress he decided that he just wants love. I don't know where he came from or what his story is but he's a happy boy now. He gets along with other dogs but hasn't been cat or kid tested. He does know how to get out of a wire crate and is working on potty training. He's not afraid of the leash and will walk on one. He also knows sit and the command get in the crate. Who wants to help Rocco be a confident happy boy? Please fill out an application at actnowrescue.net
