Story
Stranger came to live with me about 3 weeks ago. He was getting passed around between the shelter and foster homes, so he was a bundle of confusion. He also came lacking manners, mostly when it came to leash walking. As he has settled in we are working on educating him. He is very smart and learns quickly. I don’t think anyone did much with this dog, except sit for a treat. He is learning leash manners using the gentle leader and it has made a huge difference. He’s starting to realize he is more comfortable behaving rather than pulling. So walks are becoming fun. He lives in my kennel w/a huge yard of his own and neighbors he likes to run the fence with. He does play w/his one neighbor as he is very dog friendly. Every night after their dinner I sit w/one of the dogs and read for a 1/2 hour. The first time I sat w/Stranger he jumped all over me. I sat with him last night and he sat down and chewed on his bone, later came and laid his head in my lap for pats. He is changing quickly. I took him to the park yesterday to get some pictures and videos for his bio. He lacks patience getting in and out of the car, but was very good and a lot of fun otherwise. He was great on the leash. Walked behind people w/5 dogs and never once pulled me. Passed by kids on bikes and calmly watched them go by. To swim I put him on a long line. I didn’t know how he would be, he really doesn’t know he is attached when he is on a long line, he chose to stay near me. He never tried to run off, just stayed and played in the water with me. I knew he loved water and assumed he knew how to swim. Not so much, but he is learning and will be a great water dog, once he learns to leave his feet under water to swim. We had a fun time at the park. Stranger will make someone a great dog. He’s smaller at maybe 45 pounds, cute as hell and also very people friendly. He wants to be with his forever person, he’s a very social dog and would do well with someone who likes to do things with their dogs. I think his best home would be with another playful dog, and a fenced yard is a must.

Story
Leo is 5 years old and has a young heart. He loves to play fetch and run around but is very chill and also loves to lay around, snuggle, and be rubbed. He is social and loves all people and other dogs. He has been around other dogs before and has never had any aggressive tendencies. He is truly the sweetest dog. Someone that is able to give him lots of attention and care is ideal. He’s a bit of a “shadow dog” , can often find him laying at your feet.

Story
I have had Winston since he was 3 months old. He is now twelve with NO health issues. I rescued him from a bad living situation where he was left alone for three days. He is a protective dog, but also timid. He is gentle around children and small dogs. He has so much love to give the right family, but, he is a one person dog, and will stick by that person whenever possible. He has always been an indoor dog, but also likes to go for walks and car rides. He prefers the indoors though. He is very house trained. He sleeps whenever he can but can be excitable. He is fearful and avoids strangers. I have never known him to attack a person, but he can be aggressive with other animals. He is a hazard to small children simply due to his size. I am needing to re-house Winston due to a change in my living situation. Due to his one-person nature, he is on alert and will bark, even at a person he is familiar with. You will love him. And he will love you back.

Story
We’re currently fostering an amazing dog named Winston and are hoping to find him the perfect forever home. He truly is a special dog—we just haven’t found the right fit yet! A little about Winston: • American Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer mix • Approximately 5 years old • In excellent health and good looking boy! • Fully housebroken; does great with a doggie door and kennel • One of the best dogs on a leash that we’ve ever had • Very smart and eager to learn • A total “Velcro dog” who loves being near his people—but he does not have separation anxiety • Great with other dogs and kids • High energy when it’s playtime, but also a wonderful, cuddly companion Ideal home: Winston would do best in a home where he isn’t left alone for long stretches during the day—he thrives on companionship and being part of the family. If you or someone you know might be a great fit, please reach out—we’d love to help Winston find the home he deserves! 🐶💛
