Story
Cody turned 2 years old on January 11, 2024. He has tons of energy but does not do well with strangers or toddlers. He is housebroken but will urinate on the floor if he does not want to go into his pin. Chewing seems to be his favorite thing to do. He has a lot of chew toys but keep plastic away from him because he will chew right through it. He graduated from puppy training, so he knows basic commands, like potty, sit, pin, come, etc. However, if he does not want to follow them he will not. All of his shots are up-to-date. He also has a microchip. I recommend a home with someone who is experienced with dogs. He gets very anxious and nervous around strangers and toddlers. I will take $100 or less for him. He is worth more, but I am hoping that someone who normally could not afford a dog like him will be able to afford him.

Story
I have a mixed breed dog in my care that Im trying to find a good, loving home for. She is 4 years old and about 45 lbs. She is good with kids, dogs and cats. She is crate trained and house trained. She does bark at strangers. She cries a little when she is not getting the attention she wants. But she is a good, sweet girl. She is chill and lays around a lot. She does not run away from the house. No puppy energy anymore. Little fat but I do not hold that against her!

Story
1 yd old female named Demi. I was given her from a family friend. Her mother was found abandoned in the middle of winter and my family friend rescued Demi's mother which they then found out she was pregnant. I ended up adopting Demi's brother. After having Demi's brother for awhile the family friend asked if I wanted Demi for a friend for Her brother. Now as time went on It just became too much to handle 2 dogs. I work a lot due to the economy and just don't have time to give them the Love and attention they deserve. They are great Loving dogs never bit anyone, will lick you to death. Demi chases the cats we have but never tried to actually hurt the cats. Great around my 2 6yrd children. Potty/Kennel trained

Tail's is a great 1 yr old lab/pit mix.He is a great dog all around. He is full of energy and need's someone that has the time for him. Unfortunately with the economy I am stuck at work a lot of the time so it is hard for me to do so. He love playing fetch. He is a stronger dog so he will need someone that will be able to handle him. He will lick you to death and has never bitten anyone. He is house and Kennel trained. He has not yet been neutered. Only flaw I would say he has is wanting to jump up because he is so excited. I have used training collar and that did help out a lot

Story
Hello, this is Roxy aka Rox, Roxanne, Roxanne Wolf, Rocker. She is a small to medium terrier mix breed. Me and my children adopted her from Care STL shelter last year in April. Her birthday is February 15, 2023. She is one years old. She is the sweetest, smartest, loves to play and cuddle. She knows sit, lay down, paw, kennel, leave it, too far (meaning she’s going too far from me and needs to retreat), she sits while getting her food in her bowl & waits for the command “eat.” I would love more than anything to find her a home that has the time to cuddle and play with her. This year has been tough for my household and I havent been able to provide her the same love as when I adopted her last year. The fee is just so I know she is going to a home that is willing to give her what i am asking. Thank you!

We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org Betsy was released to rescue because she wasn’t producing good litters for her breeder. She is really coming along since being in her foster home. She prefers her foster mom but still adjusting to accept her foster dad. She enjoys laying around and chewing on her bones or snuggling with her other foster brother, Hershey who is also available for adoption. She will do best learning from other 4 legged siblings so we would like to see her find a home with some siblings of similar size & energy level. Betsy has not had any accidents in her foster home for weeks but an new home needs to understand she could have accidents until she gets a new routine down. She is still not accepting of the harness and leash yet. We know she will get there but it is just not in the cards for her yet. Therefore for her safety, a secure physical fenced yard is a must. If you are looking for a quiet friend that will listen to you talk, with no judgement & no disagreement, Betsy is exactly what you are looking for! Betsy is an absolute doll, and she will make a fabulous roommate. We hope to find her a human friend that is interested in spending the day with Betsy watching & observing the world. Betsy isn’t a lap dog (yet) or an ‘adventure’ dog. She is a dog that is finally getting her chance to lounge around & be a dog!
