Story
Mara is seeking a home with humans that love being active outdoors. Mara loves (and behaves better overall) when she gets regular walks and play of fetch. Mara would do best in a home of adults or children at least 5 years old and up. Mara is relatively quiet and a rare barker. Mara travels really well in her cage in the car, as well as in hotel rooms. Mara is very strong and a bit of an oblivious brute in her personality and movements—not a cuddler! She is very playful and would do best at a home with a fenced in yard, as she prefers spending long stretches outside—including hopping and playing in the snow! Mara is a minimal shedder, but a lot sticks to her Velcro-like thick fur coat and her terrier personality makes it difficult to find a fitting groomer. Her speed of food and water intake requires monitoring as she tends to do both too fast, causing her to have an upset stomach. She gets along well with dogs her own size, but is cautious of bigger dogs. 3.5 YO

Story
Hi, I’m Tango — an 8-year-old Goldendoodle with a golden heart, a goofy grin, and a deep passion for belly rubs, road trips, and balls (especially the squeaky kind). In September 2023, I suffered a spinal stroke that left my back legs paralyzed. My family loved me so much, but they knew I needed more care than they could give, so in April 2024, they entrusted me to the amazing team at APL and that’s when my comeback story really began. Since then, I’ve made incredible, unexpected progress. With regular rehab, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and lots of encouragement, I’ve gone from scooting to walking with help, and sometimes even on my own! I can cruise around with and without my custom wheels like a champ, especially if there’s a ball to chase or an adventure to be had. Speaking of adventures, I’m always ready to go. I love car rides, public outings, strolls through the park, and pretty much anywhere my people are headed. I’ll happily roll up to a brewery, hop into a café, or join you for a sunny patio lunch. I’m not picky, as long as I’m included. I also happen to be the world’s most enthusiastic ball-chaser. I may have some mobility challenges, but if there’s a ball in play, you better believe I’m going after it. I’ve got a mean fetch game and the determination like no other. People are my other favorite thing. I’m incredibly social, gentle, and friendly with everyone I meet (kids, adults, other dogs...) I’m just happy to be part of the fun. I don’t chew things I shouldn’t, and I’m always ready to cuddle. I do need a little help with potty time a few times a day, but I’ve even started doing that more on my own lately. The APL crew will show you the ropes, and it’s easier than you might think. I'm looking for a family that sees beyond my different abilities and appreciates my incredible spirit. A household that's patient, loving, and ready to welcome me, despite my need for a bit more care. I promise to reward you with boundless love and joy and be your best companion by stealing your heart from the moment you meet me. If you're looking for a loyal, loving sidekick with a story of resilience, a wag that never quits, and a suitcase packed for life’s next big adventure — I’m your guy. So, what do you say? Want to roll through life with me? Tango is up to date on vaccinations, 4DX tested, microchipped and neutered. He will come with all his cool gadgets so you can easily take him along on adventures. Applications to meet Tango can be submitted at: https://www.aplanimalrescue.org/dogs

Story
Once home, this athletic queen turns into a love-loaded couch ornament. She lives for snuggles and will happily wedge herself into your lap if you let her (or even if you don’t). For that reason, no small kids, not because she’s mean, but because she’s a big girl who doesn’t know her own strength when she’s excited to see her people (which is always).Bella is a lady’s lady. She has excelled at baby showers, brunches, and girl-gatherings. If you’ve got a soft voice and a soft spot for misunderstood pups, she’ll melt into your heart. Men? Well… she prefers to take things slow. Like “I’ll sniff you from across the room for a few visits” kind of slow. No cats or small dogs, please. Bella is more of a people’s pup. And toys? Meh. Treats? She’s not that into food either. But naps? Nap time is sacred. She does wonderfully in her kennel, appreciates a calm space, and is looking for a patient, peaceful home that will let her take her time and be her wonderfully quirky, affectionate self. Ready for long walks, deep cuddles, and a love that’s a little shy but endlessly rewarding? Bella is waiting for you Come meet her and see if her sleepy snuggles steal your heart!

Story
If you like ‘em chunky, charming, and confident, you’re about to meet your match. Moto Moto rolled into our care as a stray, and yes—he really does look like his movie namesake. Short, stout, and built like a tank made of mashed potatoes, this round guy is impossible not to smile at! We`re not sure on his breed, but maybe a low-rider bowling ball??The constant kennel life @ the shelter is not a vibe for Moto. It stresses him out and makes it hard for him to show off his true personality. But bring him into an office or a quiet room, and he transforms into a chilled-out sidekick who loves hanging nearby and supervising your Zoom calls. He’s an excellent work-from-home companion—just don’t expect him to type; his paws are… not built for it.Moto Moto is very much a “humans only” kind of guy. Other dogs? No thanks. Cats? Hard pass. Young kids? A little too exciting for him. He’s looking for a calm, committed home with adults or teens who get that he’s a one-and-only king.He does great with both men and women, he’s an all in kind of guy—loyal, goofy, and ready to waddle his way right into your heart. Although being in a kennel during his shelter stay is not his favorite, he does crate nicely when it`s time to clean for the day. If you’ve got a soft spot for a solid-bodied sweetheart with a big personality, & Moto sounds like he might be a match, swing by and meet him today! He may not run fast, but he’ll race to win you over! He`s all about the good life and hopes you are too: belly rubs, baths, and majestic leash walks where he shows off his glorious waddle.
