Story
Meet Raven! Raven is approximately 6 months old and is thought to be a terrier-type mix with a heart of gold!Raven came to us from another rescue organization that helped pull her from an overcrowded shelter. We are still learning about her every day, but so far she's incredibly sweet and happy, and we think she'd fit in to almost any fun & active family! She can be a little bit bashful at first, and can spook with loud noises, but she's learning to recover with the comfort of her human and K9 friends.Raven is crate trained, but because she's still a puppy we encourage her adopters to continue helping her learn the new potty routine, as it will obviously be much different than in a shelter. She is friendly with strangers and should do well around other pets & children as long as everyone is properly introduced & supervised. In fact, we're sure she'd LOVE to have a doggy playmate in her new home!Raven's ideal family would be one who is looking to provide love and guidance to a puppy learning the ropes, as well as someone who is active & involved, and wants to include her in all kinds of new things! We think she'll make an excellent adventure buddy as so far, she seems to be up for just about anything! If you think that's what you're looking for, follow the link below. We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been approved:https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.htmlRaven is fully vetted & spayed. Her adoption fee is $200.

Story
Meet Georgia! Georgia is approximately 3 1/2 years old and is thought to be a Hound mix.Georgia came to us as a transfer from another rescue who pulled her from an overcrowded shelter. She just recently arrived, so we're still learning about her every day.So far, Georgia is such a love! She excitedly greets new people and is very friendly and affectionate. We're told she's great with kids, strangers & other dogs, but may not be recommended to live with kitties. She is crate trained and does well in her kennel, but especially because of all of her recent changes, Georgia's new family should expect to be patient and help her learn the new potty routine.Georgia should do well in almost any loving & involved family! She'd like love a daily walk, or even a hike through the woods so she can use that hound nose to the best of its ability! She will benefit from continued training, as that will also help to strengthen her bond with you. She seems to be a girl who would love adventures, but doesn't necessarily need to 'run a marathon'.If you're someone who loves and appreciates the goofiness and quirkiness of hounds, Georgia would love to meet you! Follow the link below. We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved:https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.htmlGeorgia is spayed & fully vetted. Her adoption fee is $200.

Story
Meet Ranger! Ranger is approximately 7 months old and is thought to be heinz-57 mix! He's roughly 45lbs and has qualities of a possible terrier and/or herding breed type, but we cannot know for sure without a DNA test.Ranger came to us from another rescue organization that helped pull him from an overcrowded shelter. We are still learning about him every day, but so far he's one of the sweetest lil guys and we think he'd fit in to almost any fun & active family!Ranger is crate trained, but because he's still a puppy we encourage his adopters to continue helping him learn the new potty routine, as it will obviously be much different than in a shelter. He is friendly with strangers and should do well around other pets & children as long as everyone is properly introduced & supervised. He may be hesitant at first, especially since he's been through so much change in such a short amount of time, but we know he'll settle in quickly with lots of love!We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been approved:https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.htmlRanger is fully vetted & neutered. Story
Smoke is in a foster facility and can be viewed by appointment once an adoption application has been approved. Meet Smoke! Smoke is approximately 2 years old and is an American Staffordshire Terrier type mix. Unfortunately, Smoke came from a home where he witnessed & experienced abuse, so upon his arrival he was understandably overwhelmed & confused. He had a hard time trusting people and had clearly been traumatized. Because of that, we took things slow and let him come around on his own time. Smoke has been making wonderful strides and showing loads of improvements! He's becoming happier, sillier, and more comfortable around everyone he hangs out with. Because of the level of trauma he experienced, however, we decided to place him into foster care with some dedicated trainers who can help Smoke to overcome his fears and learn to trust humans again. He will be in their care until the right family comes along. While at this facility, Smoke has even joined in on Doggy Daycare and absolutely loves interacting with other dogs! This sweet boy has overcome so much trauma and we're so proud to see how well he's doing. His trainers say he's goofy, loving, happy and loving the social life! We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been approved. https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.html Smoke is now neutered and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is $200.

Story
COURTESY POST - This dog is NOT in our shelter. Please see contact information for her owners below. We have owned Penny for about 18 months; but she needs training and consistency to become a productive member of society. She has confidence issues that I am confident can be addressed with training and in the right environment; my family is unable to provide that training; thus we are looking to rehome her.     Penny was born December 27th 2023 and was a rescue from an Amish farm in the wider Wisconsin Dells area; she is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. She loves the outdoors, chasing deer and turkeys, but also enjoys being indoors and with her human pets. She finds joy in taking walks with her owners. She is great with our children.     She is very smart and has learned the basic commands of sit, stay, down (lie down) and shake. She is an outdoor/indoor dog and is house trained as well as crate trained.    My wife Meredith and I can be contacted at the phone numbers below for those interested in taking Penny to be a member of their family. Thanks for your assistance; it is greatly appreciated!Best Regards,David and Meredith Moseley608-387-1336 (David)414-303-0308 (Meredith
