Story
Hello, my name is Hunk! I'm a 1-year-old male chihuahua/beagle mix. I am current on my vaccines, and soon to be heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Handsome, Playful, Curious Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I'm a handsome little man with a big personality! I can be more shy and reserved around new people, but once I get to know you I'll gladly accept affection or even some tasty treats. I love playing with toys and I'm not picky about what kind! I would do best in a home that can be respectful of my boundaries. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 5/10 Housetraining Status: I am good at keeping my kennel clean, however it may take me some time to adjust to the schedule in my new home. I should do well in a home: I will need to go to a home with children 10 years and older to ensure all household members can respect my boundaries. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats. My favorite activities are: Playing with all kinds of toys and getting affection from my human friends Things I need work on are: I could use some more work on my basic commands. Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: N/A Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Hi there, my name is Tigger! I am a 6-year-old neutered male. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped!! 3 words that describe me: Playful, content, loyal. Things Tiggers foster has to say about him: A very low key and easy boy. He gets along great with our dogs and is very respectful of our cats. He bonds very quickly with new people and will be your constant shadow. He would prefer to sleep in bed with his people but has settled for a crate next to the bed. He can be nervous/unsure in new situations and seeks reassurance from his people. Tigger is incredibly affectionate, giving hugs and kisses and he’ll nudge your hand if you’re not providing enough pets. He’s very content to spend all day lounging around when needed which is great since nobody wants to be outside in this weather! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6 or 7/10 Housetraining Status: With a consistent routine, my foster mom says I am fully potty trained! I should do well in a home: Due to my timid personality, any children in my potential home will need to be 8 years or older. I am required to meet any and all dogs in the household before adoption. I ignored the cats in my previous home. My favorite activities are: Going for walks, playing fetch, and cuddling! Things I need work on are: My foster says I'm already pretty perfect but, I am a smart guy and could always learn new tricks! Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "Tigger did super on his DD outing! He loved being out and exploring the great outdoors! He is a bit shy but once he warms up to you, which is quick, your his favorite person and loves your company! I have no doubt that he will thrive in a home setting. Love this boy💙" "Tigger did amazing on his DD outing! This was his 2nd outing with me and was more comfortable being out and around me. Tigger likes calm, quiet environments and going to places with very little activity. He is alot of fun getting to know and he I would love to see him out on more outings with other volunteers. That would be good for him💙" " Tigger did amazing on his DD outing! Such a sweet, mellow boy. He loved to be back at the house just lounging & napping but when it was time for a walk he was excited! He loves being out on walks! Tigger likes quiet, calm places to hang out at with little to no activity so he thoroughly enjoyed time spent at the house. Tigger is a bit shy but once he warms up to you he loves being near you enjoying your company. Love this little guy and he will make a very nice addition to a home💙" My adoption fee is: $300 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Greetings, my name is Garth! I'm a 3-year-old male border collie mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Sweetheart, Smart, Playful Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I'm a loving guy who greets the world with a smile! I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but it doesn't take me too long to warm up to them. I'm super playful and love toys of all kinds, though I seem to favor balls. With that being said I am a hard chewer so I will need some strong toys! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6 or 7/10 Housetraining Status: I have been good at keeping my kennel clean, although it may take me some time to adjust to a new schedule. I should do well in a home: I will need to meet any dogs in my potential home before adoption. I should do well with children of all ages given proper supervision. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats. My favorite activities are: Playing with toys!!!! I love cuddling my humans and getting affection from them as well. Things I need work on are: I could use a little more work with my basic commands and leash walking. Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "Garth did well with everything and everyone he encountered. He was neutral to everything around him, we even walked past a large group of ducks and he just looked and kept walking. His leash walking skills are great! He doesn’t pull and is easily redirected. He seems to be handler focused for the amount of time that we got to know him, and eager to please. He LOVED the flirt pole, we played with that for a while and he was super excited the whole time. Garth did so well overall and I think he’d be great in just about any home. He was so content hanging out, but willing to get up and run around/play too!" "Garth did so well today. He settled right in and played with some toys and napped. We went for a walk around riverside park and to pearl street books where he enjoyed meeting all the new people. I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with him and I know he will make an excellent companion for someone!" "Garth is truly a special little guy! He needs to build some confidence and is definitely a little nervous at times, but he warms up to people really quick and is super affectionate and becomes very mellow when he gets pets and belly scratches. He is very smart and highly trainable! Was almost 100% with Sit and lay down and we started practicing “look at me!” on walks which he was very receptive to and by the end of the day he would look at me to check in whenever a new person entered. He does need a bit of leash training but was pulling less by the end of the day. He is playful and has energy but was also very calm and patient just hanging out in my office for a while!" "Garth was awesome! Liked riding in the truck, hiking, and playing in the dog park. Interacted well with everything and everyone we encountered. Listened well and walked on leash without pulling, and loved being outside. Very loving easy-going personality. A joy to be around." Story
Atlas - Energetic, snuggly 8 month old looking for his soulmate   In his short life Atlas has been bounced around a lot. Recently, he has been learning a lot including confidence and trust in his humans. It took Atlas about a month to decompress at his current foster home so he will require patience, trust, and a lot of positive reinforcement. He has so much love to give we know it’ll be worth it! He's so eager to please his humans in the house and will need to be supervised, corrected (when necessary), and given positive reinforcement for him to be a successful dog. He response well to a confident human so an experienced owner is recommended for Atlas. Atlas will require a slow introduction to other dogs as he doesn't like them in his face right when they meet (As is common in many dogs). After 10-15 minutes, when he’s comfortable, he will initiate play.  Atlas does enjoy wrestling with his 3 foster fur siblings, however, it will take him a while to adjust to not only a new doggie friend, but also a new routine and new home environment.  He loves to chase, wrestle, and howl when he's ready to play. Atlas can get a little jealous when the other dogs try to snuggle with his foster mom, but he takes corrects well and backs off. He loves women and loves his current foster dad, but sometimes, he is fearful of other men. He has been going out in public stores and working on his confidence. He loves getting treats from new friends, so we highly encourage his new family to continue doing that for positive experiences.  Atlas has been working very hard on his manners with the resident kitty. It took him a few weeks to understand he can't play with the cat whenever he wants. He is allowing the kitty to walk around the house without trying to chase her. He will do best with a dog savy cat or a home without a kitty friend.  Atlas is also working hard on his manners! He sits and waits until the food bowl is on the ground. He is also learning sit and wait hand signals and knows lay down. He take treats nicely, but if he gets a little too excited, he knows "nice". Atlas has great recall. He is such a human pleaser that he doesn't like to go far from them. He LOVES fetch! He loved all the toys but loves playing fetch. He will bring the ball back and drop it without you needing to tell him.  crate trained but is a big fan of cuddling with his humans Potty trained but it’s common for dogs especially ones who have been bounced around to need an adjustment period so he may have initial accidents in a new home okay with kids who are calmer and let him come on his terms but with a dog that is more on the shy/scared side, he needs to build trust with everyone he meets so we recommend no kids under 8.  loves being told when hes a "good boy". If you’re interested in adopting Atlas, and are Pre-approved, please private message us, or APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!) **Atlas’s  $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, heartworm test, current vet check, and microchip. ##2302886##

Story
Meet Mama Zola!  This 2-year-old terrier mix (a perfect 40 pounds of love and zoomies!) has already raised six beautiful pups — the famous Z Pups! — and now it’s her turn to find the happy ending she deserves.   Zola may be deaf, but don’t let that fool you — this clever girl doesn’t miss a thing! She’s thriving with her training collar, which helps her understand gentle cues since she can’t hear. She’s incredibly responsive, eager to please, and quick to learn new routines.   She’s also fully potty trained, crate trained, and gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids. Zola loves people with her whole heart and brings her joyful energy to every moment.   True to her terrier spirit, she’s a higher-energy gal who’s always up for an adventure — walks, playtime, car rides, or cuddles on the couch.   After giving her all to raise her six puppies, Mama Zola is ready to be someone’s baby at last.   If that someone could be you, and you’re Pre-approved, please private message us, or APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com   **Zola’s adoption fee is $200 and will include current vet check, spay, UTD vaccinations, microchip, and current HW test. ##2544350##
